I've got no idea what I've just seen but I'm aware this rocks. Will come back once I able to process it
Do you have your dotfiles somewhere? your tmux config looks amazing

thank you @@sagaratytube
I'm a new vimer. For me it's too hard to choose, so I've started with lazyvim just because of lazy plugin and my laziness to explore more and especially doing my own configuration 😅 It's great seeing other variants
Hell! As I think, it can be far most easier to write self editor than to explore this infinite software dunghill!
What is for the terminal?? Keys `M` - `i` doesn't works ((
M is a short hand for meta. usually means the alt key. press alt and then i. a toggleable terminal should pop up
hey how do you get the prettier code formatter for nvchad?
2.5 is much eaiser to configure,if you're familiar with 2.0 before
Can you suggest me any video that would teach me how to properly configured nvim depending on my needs and usage...
@@unknownboi9084 Honestly all the videos suck. It's like these tech guru's want to gatekeep ANYONE new from starting to use nvim. It's an absolute NIGHTMARE to setup, with breaking changes for all packages every 6 - 12 months. It's honestly not even worth it
I got NvChad some time ago and I think the base install was full fledged. When I want to reinstall it last night, it seems split into starter, which is more bare, and NvChad, which needs the starter to work. Is this a new rework? How can I just get a fully running Nvim from NvChad?
You are correct. I was preparing video for recording one day with base install and next day the whole thing was replaced with a starter. I had to record again 😔
@@sagaratytubeOh no :/
Ugh, this lack of out-of-the-box functionality has motivated me to actually download kickstart config and just understand everything but it's so dense...
I learned a lot of tricks from your video though :)
I might try using NvChad starter with the NvChad/NvChad nvchad folder manually copied in
Yeah, that is good idea 💡
You are not supposed to change the files that are outside cutsom directory. Any changes you make should be done inside the custom directory as it is being gitignored and won’t affect updating nvchad.
The comment inside options.lua says "Add your options here". I think they changed configuration recently.
@utsavpatel7924
@@sagaratytube oh okay I haven’t checked the new docs maybe you can add ut here after all. Thx for sharing
my hop didn't work 😢
I have done everything exactly as you do but I dont see the tree of files on the left? How do I set neovim up so that every time a start neovim I see the tree?
Did you try using space + e?
@@sagaratytube things like this should really be explained in the video. How are we supposed to know that without being told? Btw thank you for the video, first time I've been able to successfully get nvchad running.
Plugin customisation in nvchad please 🥺🥺
I think you could be using v2 , there was breaking changes to starter
Yes, could be. Or they fixed it two days back and released again🙂
I had my own neovim configuration, even though I had configured almost everything, there was always more that I had to do manually, I installed lazyvim and it was much easier, I still prefer nvchad's lazy
Whats difference between nvchad's lazy and normal lazy? Just curious
I don't think there's a difference. It's the same plugin
@@asg8813 It's not just the plugin I'm referring to, it's the pre-installed lazyvim configuration
using Astrovim for a while, currently migrating to v4 which will be released in april along with neovim 0.10, used nvchad but after using astrovim v4 any other config like lunar or nvchad seems to me prehistorically barebones. astrovim = so easy to tweak (like bash-language server invokes shellcheck by default, now if you have shellcheck install as a linter/formatter the diagnostic will show error twice, just tell the astroLSP to do not use shellcheck on bashls, no additional files for lsp, no extra config extends, pure joy of less bloated stuff), less clutters, blazingly fast, and so many community packs saves the day...
@ash1kh You are absolutely correct. I tried pyright LSP in both. inside NVchad it fails miserable, but works in Astro. Even though I had same environment and both uses Mason.
@@sagaratytube Make an issue on nvchad's repo. NvChad by default only handles lua lsp.
I never code in python, just tried pyright for you and it works good on first attempt itself.
Proof 0x0.st/Xr_V.mp4
You should see how dreamsofcode makes advance nvchad tutorials
> prehistorically barebones
Its not prehistoric lol, the astrovim stuff you see does a lot of hard work behind the scenes.
I dont like that approach, new users would have to learn their custom syntax as well as lspconfig's syntax which is bad imo. I want users to use the default configs from lspconfig docs, not some custom syntax. I dont want to spoil users with that level of spoonfeeding.
Thanks. I Will open the issue and submit logs. Dreamsofcode is just perfect 💟 I learn from him as well 😀
@@siduck_og if you go to neovimcraft all those nvchad, astronvim, lunarnvim are labelled "preconfigured". The idea behind is not let the user lag behind of figuring out stuff or stuck in a loop of my config and let them code out of the box, also let the user give the freedom of change very easily. That's why they are called preconfiguration. If I have to do it myself then yes others are not only "prehistorically barebones" but also "predominantly failure".
How to install nvchad main repo as plugin in nvchad starter config . I cant get it to work for love of god .
Dont work on lubuntu i guess, interface looks broken, any icons shown, dont know what to do.
@profbrobinson
See my setup video. At the end of video I have shown how to install nerdfonts. That will fix your broken icons problem.
Also you have to start tmux with -u option
do for v2.5. They removed custom dir
It's the 2.5 you can see the dir structure
how should i configure linting in nvchad?

I liked NvChad but seems like everyone uses LazyVim anyways.
Please share your tmux dots! I want that status bar pleaseeeee.

just go HELIX
HELIX is really cool and I almost switched to it a few months back.
But "just learn a new set of motions you can't use anywhere else" is a deal breaker.
