I think their relationship is really unique. They have that relationship that isnt completely romantic but isnt completely platonic either ,so theyre stuck in the middle, like those type of friends that have soooo much chemestry that no one else has in the friend group and everyone expects them to date at some point.

Bamon gives me the same vibes as Stelena lmao, the obviously healthier ship with way more chemistry and raw love even if they're not together as a couple. Not to mention how both ships involve Stefan and Bonnie who in my opinion brought out the best version of Elena and Damon. Anyone with eyes can see it and if Julei Plec had half a brain she would've made them endgame.
As a Stelena fan though, I do agree that Damon and Elena had chemistry up until the point where they actually got together. The only thrilling part of their relationship was the progression to their relationship. After they got together, it was like the chemistry disappeared? There was no thrill, no butterfly-in-my-stomach effect. It was just sex and eye-fucking. That being said though, in my opinion, their chemistry was never better than Stelena’s.

I’ve already watched season 6. There was nothing appealing abt their “chemistry” there, they were boring and Elena was completely Damon obsessed. The only tolerable scene of them is when they danced where they had “met”. Damon and Bonnie being best friends doesn’t mean they can’t have chemistry. Their chemistry was perfect, I loved them so much. You might see them as platonic but most of the characters in this video clearly thought otherwise, including many Bonnie fans. Us being hurt as a result of Stelena being ruined isn’t the reason we hate Julie. It is clear, from the many interviews to the way Bonnie’s character was treated that Julie was simply r*cist and didn’t want Bonnie getting into a relationship with one of the leading male characters. Julie is a horrible person in general, it’s got nothing to do with Stelena.
I feel like if they'd just committed to Elena actually dying when Nina left, Bonnie and Damon would've been together. I feel them actually killing Elena off would've been really unexpected and a good twist, and Katherine still could've been in the finale

I always loved Damon and Bonnie in the show. I'm aware of the books, but Ian and Kat had EXCELLENT chemistry. They could have definitely sold it. But instead they went with Steroline, where imo, Candice and Paul's kind of chemistry, while good, never sold it for me as far as romance goes.

if you listen closely to the audio, you do hear him say "it's almost rom-" before she cuts him off. the writers definitely did that on purpose because it was subtle so many people would miss it, and he never fully said romantic. to be fair it may have been another word that sounds like romantic, but romantic definitely fits the sentence perfectly....

tbh i never shipped them while watching the show, but i always loved their friendship. after i finished the show i wanted to know the difference between the show and books, since i never read them. there were so many differences, one of them being bamon being a couple which shook me so much cuz i never thought of them that way. so i decided to read fanfics and watch videos of them and then i understood

Once Delena actually got together, the ratings tanked. The idea of Elena and Stefan ending up together if Nina didn’t leave is a myth. All the writers mentioned was that they wanted to revisit the love triangle, not that they had any intentions of making a specific ship endgame.

I’ve never seen this show in my life (I’m not going to watch it because of what TVD producers did to Kat) and seeing Damon and Bonnie scenes out of context have me completely convinced that a romantic relationship between them was canon.

I just wanted them to acknowledge the amazing chemistry and maybe some sexual tension between Bamon but i never wanted to see them get together. At least not until the very end of the show. Letting the forbidden relationships happen between characters always kills a show. That is why ratings when down when Delena got together. It is always so much better when as fans we can feel the tension but never get relief. We keep coming back because we are trying to get that relief. Once we get the relief, now the show isn't as exciting anymore.

I haven't read the books, but read in an article or something that in the books, Damon and Bonnie end up together. If that's true that means the producers intentionally went against canon to keep them apart, even when every scene they had together was just slapping us in the face with their chemistry. Honestly, it wasn't Elena who made Damon selfless, it was Liz, Bonnie, Stefan, Rose. Elena always expected him to be like Stefan. They were the only bitches who got shit done in this show. It was especially obvious when they were in the prison world together, and nobody else was capable of doing jack shit to get them out. If it was Stefan and Elena, or Caroline in that world, Damon and Bonnie would’ve gotten them out in like 2 days max. They were the ones willing to go to the ends of the world, and make the hard decisions, and the hardest sacrifices, which is also why they were perfect for each other. Damon was more on the “bad” side, Bonnie was most definitely on the “good”, and they balanced each other out beautifully. It’s such a missed opportunity.

As a Stelena fan though, I do agree that Damon and Elena had chemistry up until the point where they actually got together. The only thrilling part of their relationship was the progression to their relationship. After they got together, it was like the chemistry disappeared? There was no thrill, no butterfly-in-my-stomach effect. It was just sex and eye-fucking. That being said though, in my opinion, their chemistry was never better than Stelena’s.

I’ve already watched season 6. There was nothing appealing abt their “chemistry” there, they were boring and Elena was completely Damon obsessed. The only tolerable scene of them is when they danced where they had “met”. Damon and Bonnie being best friends doesn’t mean they can’t have chemistry. Their chemistry was perfect, I loved them so much. You might see them as platonic but most of the characters in this video clearly thought otherwise, including many Bonnie fans. Us being hurt as a result of Stelena being ruined isn’t the reason we hate Julie. It is clear, from the many interviews to the way Bonnie’s character was treated that Julie was simply r*cist and didn’t want Bonnie getting into a relationship with one of the leading male characters. Julie is a horrible person in general, it’s got nothing to do with Stelena.

We want to see something that will crash or burn. I didn't want to see Delena or Bamon actually get together but I wanted to be teased with the possibility. Once Delena actually got together, the ratings tanked. I feel like if they did the same tease with Bamon as they initially did with Delena but not give us the satisfaction or disappointment, the ratings would have been through the roof.

The idea of Elena and Stefan ending up together if Nina didn’t leave is a myth. All the writers mentioned was that they wanted to revisit the love triangle, not that they had any intentions of making a specific ship endgame.

I’ve never seen this show in my life (I’m not going to watch it because of what TVD producers did to Kat) and seeing Damon and Bonnie scenes out of context have me completely convinced that a romantic relationship between them was canon.
on one hand, i was kind of ok with the fact that bonnie and damon’s friendship didn’t bloom into something more the way caroline and stefan’s friendship did, solely because i really just liked seeing opposite gender characters just be strictly friends (since these friendships always turn into something more-) but i wouldn’t have hated it if they got together. i also feel like bonnie and damon should’ve had what stefan and caroline did.

I just wanted them to acknowledge the amazing chemistry and maybe some sexual tension between Bamon but i never wanted to see them get together. At least not until the very end of the show. Letting the forbidden relationships happen between characters always kills a show. That is why ratings when down when Delena got together. It is always so much better when as fans we can feel the tension but never get relief. We keep coming back because we are trying to get that relief. Once we get the relief, now the show isn't as exciting anymore.

I haven't read the books, but read in an article or something that in the books, Damon and Bonnie end up together. If that's true that means the producers intentionally went against canon to keep them apart, even when every scene they had together was just slapping us in the face with their chemistry. We were well and truly robbed!

Also, Ian and Kate actually pitched the idea to the writers as they both were great friends and they felt that Damon and Bonnie could be more but Julie said no, obviously that was her racism. Tbh, everyone says that Damon changed because of Elena but with elena Damon didn't do the right thing, he would just control himself or hide his truth so that Elena would be happy and therefore he always felt insecure and ended up messing up his relationship even more. But he was his truest self with Bonnie. He had so many chances of let Bonnie die where Elena wouldn't have ever known that he decided to let go of Bonnie like when Kai tried killing her and Damon fought with everything to save Bonnie. Honestly, it wasn't Elena who made Damon selfless, it was Liz, Bonnie, Stefan, Rose. Elena always expected him to be like Stefan. Honestly, Delena could have become a good relationship but after Elena died the growth of delena died too, they became stale and it was all about their sexual chemistry.

They were the only bitches who got shit done in this show. It was especially obvious when they were in the prison world together, and nobody else was capable of doing jack shit to get them out. If it was Stefan and Elena, or Caroline in that world, Damon and Bonnie would’ve gotten them out in like 2 days max. They were the ones willing to go to the ends of the world, and make the hard decisions, and the hardest sacrifices, which is also why they were perfect for each other. Damon was more on the “bad” side, Bonnie was most definitely on the “good”, and they balanced each other out beautifully. It’s such a missed opportunity.
