you should ALWAYS weld all your seams as this is a structural piece. If you have large gaps you should use backer pieces to help fill the void and something to weld to.
Nice job. Quick question , the other side of the panel you replaced, where the holes are to attach the side steps.or running boards, is that aluminum or sheet metal? My side steps.rip of the metal of the truck and i have to weld new pieces on each of the 3 point of mounting on both sides. Please let me know. Tks in advance...
I did do the cab corner at a later date. I did not video the process. What I can tell you is that I was able to install the cab corner without removing the bed. There was enough room in there for access. The sad part of the story is just before painting I was involved in a rear end collision and my insurance company totaled it. It never got finished. 🤔
There was enough room once I got in there. It didn’t look like it from the outside, but once I laid under the truck there was enough room for me to get it done. It doesn’t have to look great because you won’t be able to see it.
I’ll be tackling this project this year. Did you use flux core? That’s all I have
thank you for sharing!! what do you call the last piece you havent welded yet? that round corner? where can i get that?
its called a cab corner. I got it from mrtaillight.com also.
how much would a job like this cost but for both sides?
If you have a welder, tools, skill, and time, it shouldn’t cause more than a few hundred dollars. If you are going to pay a shop, I have no idea.
@@qaton Hello Sir can you do my truck ?
A lot

Full frame vehicle, this is not structural.

Where did you find rockers that go to the door jam? My 2010 has IDENTICAL rust....

The Mjolnir mrtaillight.com. They took real good care of me. Even helped with difficult shipping to Hawaii. Highly recommended.

Thought you had to remove bed in order to install cab corners ?? I'm having same issue

Did you do a video on the cab corner replacement? :) This one was really awesome!
Nicw
Gotta do the same with my truck, kinda unsure of how to tackle it but great video
Where did you get that panel at?

Lucky u didn't burn up the pickup, before u got rearended..
What state was this truck from? Damn this is bad
Illinois
Damn, I see some of those body rams in Minnesota looking like that too. It’s a shame, 10 years old and already looking like that
I have a 98 ram 1500 that has shot rocker panels. I hate salt. It should be outlawed.
@@ffhjvbuydb78eb If salt was outlawed, we would probably have fender and bumper damage from crashes in the snow. =)
@@qaton they can find an alternative. I don't like my truck with rust holes in it 👎👎
