I was trying to figure out why the chorus at the end sounds strange compared to the rest of the song. After listening to the slightly extended version on Spotify I figured it out. There is a xylophone style instrument playing a descending pattern of semitones. This means that some of the notes are in key while others are discordant, creating that peculiar vibe.
best part too, they used it a lot as the shorter version of the ad.
