I compliment you for using an appropriate knot to tie the halyard ends together - a Double Fisherman's Bend (DFB)! Thank You. Most, including most flag businesses, demonstrate using the inappropriate Square Knot. Some even demonstrate a mis-tied Square Knot - a Granny Knot, which is 100% worthless.
After tightening the DFB securely, cut the end close to the knot, melt the ends with a lighter, & "mushroom" the hot melted ends with the lighter body - no need to tape - a smaller knot configuration - it will never unwind/you'll need to cut it off at next replacement.

Thank you for the video. Question....does the rope knot have to go between the clips? If so what is the reason? Could you not have it down at the cleat against the pole but not wrapped in the cleat? Thank you.

YOU'RE WELCOME! I find in between the clips hides it best and most importantly assures it can't get caught in the top roller.
