More and more companies are embracing the benefits of distributed and remote teams. Removing geographic restrictions to hiring expands the available talent available for a company to hire. But how do you ensure that a team distributed across the planet work well together and are effective? In this talk, Phil Haack, a former director of Engineering at GitHub, provides his guidance based on years of experience leading distributed remote teams.

Good talk. Leadership is important for setting the right and expected behaviours.
Working in a large distributed company I find Microsoft Teams awful for chat threads and isolating departments. It's good for video calls but then companies get stuck on the poor teams channels. Is Slack or discord the only better alternatives?
