    The guys nuts. They could start by cutting the daily standing charges which have risen by 88% in less than 2 years. THe average duel fuel customer now has to pay £320 a year - and that's before they use a single unit of gas or electricity.

      Yes my daily charge costs more for the sc than the gas and electric use combined. Who is Milliband trying to fool does he really believe fuel prices will come down, they told us we would save money when we had North sea gas, that worked well didn't it. Starmer must think we are idiots when he says we are not forcing people or telling them how to live, while trying to force us into EV's and having heat pumps.

      @@adds-kz3oc You mean apart from the $890bn invested by China in its low carbon sector in 2023 alone? While China relies heavily on coal, one of the reasons the countries energy needs are so high is because other countries such as the UK, have exported their manufacturing to China because it's cheaper. Hey if every country manufactured their own stuff, China's CO2 emissions would fall, while those other countries would rise. Fossil fuels aren't cheap when everything is taken in to consideration.

  • @Jackzzz97
    @Jackzzz97 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +20

    So we have to wait 6 years for our energy bills to come down? By that time they could already have increased by hundreds and already be too late for some people! Planning for the long term future is important yes, but what about the short-mid term where people are struggling now?! We have a huge supply in the North Sea we could be drilling (if Labour didn’t scrap that plan) and bring everyone’s energy bills down quicker, and families and pensioners can heat their homes in the winter without worrying about the cost whilst being able to live their lives. Then when the time is right and everything is ready, we can then move to renewables quickly without it affecting people. This ‘short term pain’ (as Starmer put it), is completely avoidable and unnecessary. People shouldn’t have to struggle to choose whether to heat their homes in the winter or not. I’ve been working extra shifts and giving the money to my nan so she can put the heating on this winter, I’m not letting her live in a cold house and freeze, just because she’s £20 over the pension credit threshold and therefore has had her winter fuel allowance stopped. It’s disgusting and I won’t be forgetting or forgiving this when it comes to the next election.

    The eco zealot Ed Miliband, who wants to fill the countryside with electric pylons wind turbines and solar farms all in the aid of achieving the impossible Net Zero. Because of his loopy loony ideologies blackouts will become commonplace. As well as costing every man woman child and business in this country many thousands of pounds. Not to mention the jobs that will be lost because energy will become so prohibitively expensive for our manufacturing industries they will not be competitive on the world stage and simply go bust as a result. All in pursuit of something it will make absolutely no difference whatsoever to the world's climate.

    How is it going to lower costs when it costs so much to manufacture and build

    If solar and wind are so cheap why does Britain have the most expensive energy costs ?

      The figure is 2% when our aviation, shipping and exported emissions are taking into consideration. There are plenty of countries which produce 2% or less of global emissions, but all those 2% and less add up.

    Highest number of wind farms in Europe gives us the highest electricity prices in Europe. More wind farms means more contraint payments will have to be made for when the wind turbines don't turn. Millibrain is mad and deluded to think that this will produce cheaper electricity. Another eco zealot on the gravy train!

    It's like watching Wallace without Grommet ,a total airhead who has no relation with reality. To think this man ran for prime minister, although to be fair the one we have at the moment is worse. The gormless look on his face when asked how much energy bills would rise is priceless comedy. Cracking cheese Grommet 😂😂
