Mom makes vegetable using Sarso seeds. It can be eaten in 2 ways. When very thin and soft it can be eaten completely. When it grows thick and tough, it is chewed and thrown while eating.

Humari Kerala mei Ghar Ghar mei zaroor yeh Muringa tree hai. Humari language Malayalam mei bhi isko Muringa ( മുരിങ) bolte hai.

tamil nadu mein almost har ghar mein hota hai- iske leaf jise munge ki bhaji ya saag kehte hain use bhi khaate hain kayi tareekhe se bana kar, phir uske phool ka bhi kuch banaate hain aur uski phalli toh bahut tareekhon se banti hai .
Iski fhul bhi west Bengal main bohot daam main bikta hain ...fhul ka bhi sabji banta hain ...wo bhi healthy hain
When I was a small boy my father had 4 to 5 trees of drumstick. We had so much produce that we used to distribute those drumstick fruits to more than 20 neighbors. They grew so very fast. But had soft wood and branches would break easily if you try climbing up the tree. The flowers and leaves are both edible for making bhaaji.

Soft green leaves can be added to lentils it markedly improves nutritional value of the dhal,our family has been using leaves of saijan including drumstick by always adding to dhal aur sabji bhi banti hai
Maharashtra me shenga phalli, sengat phalli kehte hain..patte ki phalli (drum sticks) ki sabzi banti hai..non veg gravy/daal me bhi phalli (drum sticks) daal sakte hain..daal ke saath gali hui phalli choose kar chaba kar kha sakte hain.
