Being a successful high end escort of either gender seems to require a combination of many things - from I've observed you need a unique mix of good looks, ability to compartmentalize sex emotionally, a bit of outlaw mentality, good social skills/being able to read others quickly, and money management ability. It's really a small percentage of humans who are all these things at the same time.

He definitely knows how to say the right words on the outside in order to charm a person (look at the people who fell in love in the comments). Interestingly, his nice words don't match his history of doing immoral things or beating people. Also, when mark asked what "emotions" the job gave him, he did not answer an emotion -- he said he got a chance to "learn about humans". I do detect some sociopathy (and maybe narcissism), which is not inherently a bad thing in itself but I am always more careful around these charmers.

Can't believe I' had to scroll this far to read about this person being a narcissist But honestly... I' feel like, every narcissist should be a gigolo (or do a job, where they can give to people and be idolized in return) because, this guy seems sincerely happy, and narcissists are virtually always miserable, because they have extremely low self-esteem and the reason why they are manipulative, controlling and always try to maintain a great look from the outside, is because they can't stand the idea of someone thinking badly of them & this toxic loop has become self poisoning throughout thei'r life.

He was essentially abandoned by both his mother and father (thus leaving a huge void of parental attachment and guidance) and raised by women. Thus he has learned how to deal with women and what women need and want. He's very intelligent, observant, handsome, and therefore makes for a sweet, caring, attentive, transactional "Casanova-type" con artist. The emotional void he feels is evident to me. He gets paid well to play a role, similar to an actor. If he wasn't getting paid he wouldn't "care" about these women. What a sad, empty life for both sides. Yeah, it's great temporarily but when it's over I guarantee the sense of emptiness for many of the women who get attached to him is overwhelming. It's degrading to have to pay someone to be with you to fulfil your physical and emotional needs. Just my observations.

As someone who grew up in Poland and had a father in the United States, a mother going back and forth and grandparents to raise me, I can sympathize with Tom. It’s not easy and for me, it was a very chaotic and difficult upbringing. I do believe his peculiar relationship with women stems from early age abandonment by his mother. I just don’t but into his, in my opinion, fake enthusiasm. He threw away a ten-year relationship and is now doing this. There’s no going back from this; I don’t think he’ll ever have a normal relationship or feel a genuine connection with a woman. Very sad and I don’t think he’s happy at all.

Some people on here are critical of him for his line of work and his transactions with married women... I think he is actually keeping those marriages together for providing what their husbands can't or won't give them. Most marriages are not about love, but necessity and other arrangements. In the end everyone is happier by this experience, and life is just too short to be miserable by choice. From the photography angle, he reminds me at times of a younger Michael Fassbender.

All of these interviews are fascinating. I could never be the type of person who can just live their lives with no guard rails or restrictions. So there's some envy mixed with awe when I hear these stories.

I can understand where you come from, living vicariously can be fun. I do need to say that I've lived with no guard rails and on the surface it was a great fun time, but only on the surface. Deep down I was heartbroken because it's never been written truer than when Janis Joplin said "freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose." I had no responsibilities but also no people or home. Some days I would've, and still would, traded everything for the need for guard rails.

I used to do martial arts with a male sex worker and it was the first time I had met a man in that profession. The reason it surprised me so much was because he was a completely normal, well put together man. I had this stereotype that all sex workers were drug addicted and basically living on the streets or not in good situations but this guy had an apartment and lived a much cleaner, healthier life than the average person.

You may not have that same experience, but being a child of sexual abuse and trauma, the hook is hanging out with children! I was 10-14 years old and hanging out in pool halls and driving the famous circle every Friday night with 17-23 year olds! I wanted to fit in! This is who I felt more comfortable around, than kids my own age, because of abuse by old men! I ended up being abused by some of the teens and young adults too, but still felt more at their level, developmentally.

Hey Mark! Pardon me cause I haven't watched this video yet, but am just reaching out in your most recent work, hoping you'll read.
Just watched your interview from Koncrete, from 2 years ago, and now I'm addicted. Your newest subscriber.
THANKS for being curious about life, all of life, and not only the Starbucks crowd. Watching your videos should bring the most self obsessed among us back down to earth. While I admire your viewpoint that childhood is where it all starts, both the good and bad, isn't it really a matter of what greets us all as we enter adulthood? There's that intersection of when we as individuals are faced with adulthood. This is where I think real change will come from. We need more opportunity for our graduating High School citizens! Those coming into the workforce need better preparation and information, along with plenty of a healthy dose of Sir Richard Branson's good advise. I've always believed that every child is born inherently good. We, as a society, will only benefit from helping those that need it, and by not letting them deal with hardship alone or navigate unprepared.
Thanks again Mark. Stay curious and engaged. It's beautiful to see!

Great interview; I love the honesty. Just want to add that it's a misconception to say all men are ready to go when a woman wants them. Some men, especially if they had disfunctional upbringing and if they actually care about the woman, emotions for them, can get in the way. Men with substance abuse problems health challenges or are aging, can also leave a partner who loves them dissatisfied in that way. There are lots of legitimate reasons to invest in services outside their relationship. Just saying. Tom seems to have healthy approach that would work for many. Good for him!
