Pokemon Catch is really uncommon. It was released in 2000 by Sammy USA(now owned by SEGA). They used to have 2 near me at a board game and card game store but they have since removed them. Awesome find!
What is this Zombie Arcade, and why does it keep coming back to life? Not sure if it's the same as the original 80s prize dealing one, but I know this one back when they had DDR and a working prize counter back in the 2000s. I say Zombie, cause it's grown strong after it rose from its grave. Maybe even Solomon Grundy levels, with how rare or popular this collection is. Like, nearly every machine here is iconic in some way or another.
Not a true arcade, but the same generic safe “modern” arcades that remain these days. No fighting games with 6 quarters on the top sign denoting who has next. Too much light, and no smoking. No barely working soda machine in the back corner. No dude sitting on a stool making change who looks like he’s seen some crap. I miss those days so much.
Those days are long gone. Also, those types of spots are very intimidating for the _average consumer_ who wants to get crap trinkets instead of playing actual games. Which is fair enough all things considered. I used to go to an arcade back in the day like the one you mentioned and it was great. I would absolutely demolished in KOF by the Latinos who played nothing but SNK fighters, get beat 8 times out of 10 in MvC2 and CvS2, and dominate in Tekken 4, Soul Calibur 2, and 3rd Strike. Place stayed open until 4am so me and my boys and a healthy contingent of regulars would be up all night talking shit, going back and forth on fighting games, and trying to 1cc Metal Slug 3/Aero Fighters 2/Raiden III I believe. Good thing is, these types of games are making a comeback. Look at the very positive reaction that Capcom has received recently.
lots of rare cool games
Some pretty uncommon prize games there!
