Bloody marvellous. Had the pleasure of supporting the band at their Bradford homecoming gig a few months later. Wonderful people... puts a lump in my throat seeing Rob in his prime. RIP.
Bradford University Communal Building or was it the time they played the University's Great Hall? I saw them a few times at Bradford Uni in the 80's between them leaving Abstract and signing for EMI (Shock! Horror!) . Joolz and the fantastic Dr and the Inmates as support.
@@telsutton Yeah that was the Great Hall gig - clog dancers everywhere! They were getting really popular then - next time they played Bradford they had moved up to the bigger St Georges Hall in the town centre. Who were your band mate?
@@BadAppleBlues 'The Way', from Mexborough. We weren't the audience's cuppa on the night (especially when I announced we were going to do a song by The Mission, which sent a massive cheer up, but I lied - a ruse to sniff out the Goths - and went into one of our own, which at that time was more like The Redskins) but I think they cut us some slack because we were so young, and very Northern. Justin had met me at a poetry/acoustic night with Joolz, Rev Hammer etc, in Bradford, Dec 87 (just as we'd had a stonking live review in the NME from 'Swift Nick'), put me on the guest list for the Rock City a few days later, where I was greeted with a little party for my 19th birthday; a cake with candles, and a four-pack of tinnies. A couple of weeks later I was in London meeting with their management and EMI execs, and Justin put me in touch with Mond Cowie to produce our next demos (we spent a week at Fairview with him, May 1988, travelling every day from my mum's in Mexborough to Hull; what a trooper Mond was!)
@@telsutton Great story mate. Great story man 😃 You must have been buzzing like f@ck when you were meeting with their management and EMI people! Only song I know by the Redskins ( fantastic name ) is ' Reds strike the Blues" which is a killer song. Mond Cowie used to be in the Angelic Upstarts - wow! I loved the Upstarts songs, but I never saw them coz I didn't fancy getting a kicking from any skins though lol .
I think it was interesting how the host discussed the meaning behind the band's name and the content of the songs, but a bit strange to ask about Justin's religion. Top performance :)
Der Zahnlose Sullivan in ner uralten WDR Show...
Was `ne geile Zeit. Thanx for upload

30 years later and the spirit and magic of their music and show remains captivating
A great band! I remember seeing them at Dunstable Queensway Hall. They had that black hand with the lighting off the fingers as a backdrop!
Nice one Travis! Feel free to listen to Stations of Conflict by Aggviral B3nbow and leave a comment! My stuff is a bit like Marmite..!
2022 Visor Fest. Thank you Justin. He still rockin the earth!!!
Robert looks like a good fella. Fun sense of humour

Had forgotten about Slade's enthusiastic eyebrows. Rather threatening.
Mano!!!! Que sonzêra!!! Eu adoro essa banda!
Klasse Frau .. und meine Lieblingsband.. und Justin Sullivan.. yeah
So cute how she and Justin react on each other. She blushes and he tries to be all though.
No, just the awkwardness of having to politely interact with aliens on their terms, yeech.

that woman must be very short ^^ - what an awesome piece of music history, thanks for this
Best line up NMA ever had
And for me THE best NMA TV performance
Nope, best line up was Sullivan, Heaton and Morrow.
@@Thirdfish actually I agree, not sure why I thought this was them. Poor Rob, RIP to a lovely bloke.
Nelson, Dave, Dean, Robert and Sullivan.
Best lineup.
This is my favorite line up as well... got to see em live and meet em afterwards
i love rob Heaton's face when justin says I'm a human being! lol
Best band ever existed as far as attitude lyrics music never s bad song album never since more than 40 years.
RIP Rob knew him well. Sadly missed. Good man.
I stood on his foot in MacRory's in Bradford once. He was very gracious about it. Lovely bloke, incredible drummer.
never sounds so real than now
boris johnson loves that song for sure...^^
Perfedt performance
The presenter should be Amelie Fried. Nice video and I never heard of this TV show before....
Me encantan
Tenho o vinil desta musica.show
la classe !!! prix nobel pour justin ...the best..

Niedlich.
Und nun 33 Jahre später: th-cam.com/video/ftt4GBTs-lE/w-d-xo.html
Too bad justin sold out past 2003.
Why?
The band had the worst lineup, then got the most famous and made the most money of any other lineup.
A song about the evils of cultural imperialism - sung in English by a British band on German TV. Hm....
Look out of your windows, watch the skies
Read all the instructions with bright blue eyes
We're W.A.S.Ps, proud American sons
We know how to clean our teeth and how to strip down a gun
We're the 51st state of America
Our star-spangled Union Jack flutters so proud
Over the dancing heads of the merry patriotic crowd
Tip your hat to the Yankee conqueror
We've got no reds under the bed with guns under our pillows
We're the 51st state of America
Here in the land of opportunity, watch us revel in our liberty
You can say what you like but it doesn't change anything
Because the corridors of power are an ocean away
We're the 51st state of America
