-Why is your channel called sophdoesnails? I started my Instagram account a couple years before TH-cam, where I did loads of nail art. When I started youtube I wanted to keep the same name so I was easier to find! Nail videos are too difficult to film + I prefer makeup!

whenever i watch makeup vids from youtubers i like i'll watch them looking for a specific product eg foundation n people will always recommend one like the loreal true match which we cant buy ahhhhh
A lot of the stuff she mentioned is cruelty free. Revolution, Nyx, Collection, Bleach, CYO and Soap and Glory (though I sometimes see people not trusting Soap and Glory Due to ambiguous answers from them) are all cruetlty free. I think Boots Natural collection stuff is too.
yeah ik, i mean in like videos overall, none of the youtubers i watch do cruelty free videos anymore (apart from like carli bybel), revolution and nyx are like my go to brands but majority of people mention brands like maybelline, rimmel, loreal especially for things like mascara, foundation or powders which i struggle to fine good cruelty free products for lol

Another really good highlighter is the technic ’get gorgeous’ highlighting powder it gives a really nice natural glow but its buildable if u want a more glam look. Its about 4-5 pounds off amazon ❤️

What I love to do for countour is buy a cool toned light taupe.brownih/greyish/purpleish mono eyeshadow (purpleish because I'm naturally really rosy/cool toned so my natural shadows have that purpleish tint )

HI SOPH! I received your lipstick in 'cake' its a beautiful colour however the second time using it, it broke as I was applying and I was being really light-handed! I am just suggesting if you could make it a little thicker/ more solid as this also happened to my friend. LYSM

For some reason Maybelline Superstay Foundation is nowhere near matte to me :( I turn into a greasy oxidized mess in some 3-4 hours while Revlon/Loreal matte foundations would stay in place for another 2-3 hours. The coverage is superb, but mattifying sucks so bad :'(
PS. maybe you guys have any suggestions in terms of application (I use beauty blender) that might help change the situation cause I reeeeally wanna love Maybelline Superstay
Anna Bas do you wet the beauty blender? You could use a mattifying primer underneath also! A little trick I do, though it may not work for you, is to dust a *tiny* bit of *loose* powder over my face, to lock the primer and skincare in place. I know everyone says don't put liquids on top of powders, but it honestly works if you use the tiniest bit. I hope this helps, even if it's only a little!
Yup, I wash and dampen my beauty blender every time. And I've just started using a kabuki brush (like today literally :D) but still haven't tried it with this very foundation.
I used this powder-before-liquid trick for my nose specifically but I haven't thought of trying it all over the face. Seems like today's morning makeup session is going to be a bit of an experiment :) Thanks!

loving the variety of videos soph! also just wanted to say for liquid eyeliner recommendations the soap and glory supercat is amazing! i have bought so many eyeliners because i have watery eyes and can't find anything that doesn't smudge 5 mins after putting it on, and whilst supercat doesn't it is so easy to apply!! plus they have 3 different sizes depending how you like your eyeliner!
