If we have to close a silo, we always "shower" the bleed with an mix of propionic acid and water (2:8) using a watering can. Sorry for horrible english. Greetings from Germany.

It is good to see an old school farm. Here in the US all the small farms were bought out by larger farms or built up with houses. I watch the millennial farmer it is amazing the shear size of the equipment they have. They don't even have to drive they just program the fiel into the tractor and it runs the route. Is that how you store your hay?

I was watching some other silage operations and noticed that they cut their cover tires down the middle. from the looks of the others doing it this way it looks much easier for handling the tires, storing, amount used etc. I don't know how they split the tires but if it was easy enough, I would say it looks like it might be a better way of doing things. Anywho love the vids and keep up the good work.

I grew up with a combination of the smell of haylage and diesel fumes from tractor in enclosed area..mmmmmmh. I like the Swiss Browns, great temperament and excellent bag confirmation. But as a Friesian myself, somewhat biased towards 'our' breed. We bred Friesian horses too.

You use thin plastic compared to what we use. Nice tire job this last week we went to a FORAGE AND FEED research dairy in Prairie du sac Wisconsin on each pile were five full tires an about ten side walls off car tires. Being we run 700 cows in Minnesota we have four bunkers the smallest holds about two of yours the largest filled full holds ten, and the only plastic you see is the centers of the tires.
