@@jasper60103 I've had to repair a lot of cracks in the solder where tube meets the fount, making tube loose. and a few broken solders on top. but havnt had to replace or reattach tubes yet.
@ yes I have. Clean and sand the joints but I found if you leave old solder it was easier just adding more. I use wire to put it together and hold in place and align. I affix one side then make sure the other side is right if not adjust the wire. Micro torch works much better. As little flux as needed , I use a small artist brush ,and not get it too hot. I also took a pocket advertising screwdriver and use it to work the solder. My biggest thing was the heat leaning to get it where it’s just hot enough to work. Be sure there isn’t big gaps to fill
Love those Hy los ..turned out nice
Looks good. I’m still searching for a hy-lo in the wild. These and the monarch are my favorite looking lanterns
I went a long time before finding a hy lo. which monarch style is your fav.?
Nice hy lo. Love to burn them. 🔥
Unrelated question. Have you ever had reattach (solder) the air tubes to the fount? Was it a difficult process?
