Hey Rwl2012 I'm asking around for reasons why some people do and others don't. From personal experience the foam from consumer grade cabs always disintegrates over time. Some speaker manufactures use hydrophobic cloth to keep liquid from touching the actual speakers as well. The 2100 LFC has a heightened IP rating so I would guess the driver would be protected right from the start utilizing advanced materials impregnated into the actual cones. This however would not prevent insects from getting into the boxes if they were installed outdoors. That is a main reason for using hydrophobic cloth other than liquid protection. I will try to remember to ask a few guys thoughts on this question in the future.
@@drummerboy100jh dont get me wrong, bassboss know their sh.t very well and are above the rest of their class they are playing. Price is also higher thats normal. However these larger systems comes even at a higher price point, it's also what people put on their riders, its not all about the output, it also has a lot to do with integration in to big systems, connectivity, flexibillity and so and so on, every manufacturer has their vision about what sound should be and how to work with it, think about it ;)
@djyutah Agreed, but would still be nice to hear a comparison. Lol I bet if you get in touch with David at Bassboss, he would probably put up one of his subwoofer boxes the Kraken MK3 against 6 of the Meyer 2100-LFC's and would probably do it just for comparison and fun, and to prove that they are no joke.
Meyer will give you a longer warranty which points to how reliable the product is, so quality will be there. Rare to have issues. The 2100 is at a touring grade whereas the VS21 isn't rider friendly. The 2100 will be globally accepted by any band or professional.
It varies quite a lot. There are many factors that go into how many you would use, that depends on things like type of production (ie rock-n-roll show, Norteno, electro dj festival etc) how you will configure (ie gradient array for low frequency bass control or regular deployment) and of course how many you can get a hold of:) At this event there were 16 2100s with 24 Panther. Please call me with any questions anytime:)
Can some one tell me how this stuff works?? Are this like something you can lease, you buy them this is very expensive stuff not everyone can afford this good stuff any one??
Its like noise cancelling headphones but for subs. The backwards ones subtract from the sound that is going onto the stage. it can help with feed-back. you can look up cardioid subs if you're interested.
Great question. As you know the speaker sub is called 2100 LFC. The LFC is low frequency control. So with the 2100 and all Meyer subs you get loads of power but also precsion. Precision in what goes in comes out the exact same. This makes it easy to control your low freq bass. You have the ability to focus the bass where it is needed and can attenuate the bass where it is undesirable like the stage in this scenario. Meyer offers a class on LFC and it is a thorough dive into the abilities of sub arrays. If you could attend that class I would encourage you to do so! With the right tools you could really open doors for customers who are being harrassed with low freq noise complaints and design systems to maximize powerful sound without disturbing others:)
Still bass reflex 😢😢😢😢?? Wtf?? At the main stage ??? What do you like to reflex subs?!?! L Acoustics the same b.....s.....t. Meyer its the best sound for tops but ....not for subs. Meyer Sound 2100...waooo Amazing the best Audio sound system konser, thanks for share Mr. ... New friend from Indonesia (sibray project)

Is there any particular reason for not putting foam behind the grilles, other than so you can see the drivers?

How much for 1?
How does this compare to bass boss vs21
Not comparable, general consumer product bassboss vs professional touring grade system.
Not sure about that.
But it would be awesome to hear demos of both

The VS21 also plays down to 28 like the 1100 LFC but it’s about half the power of the 2100 LFC
wow!!! 16 subs. We looking at about $300,000 . the sound system owner must have charge about $10,000 to set up
Probably more. Lol

Does it sound as loud as a 1100lfc? or like a 700hp?
The 2100 does everything the 1100 could do and more, and it is smaller!
What’s the ratio of 2100s per panther

Just get more money.
No body can’t afford this speakers
Why is one box in each stack, backwards?
It has to do with where and how far they want the subbass to project. I might be wrong though.
Its like noise cancelling headphones but for subs. The backwards ones subtract from the sound that is going onto the stage. it can help with feed-back. you can look up cardioid subs if you're interested.
It’s being set up in cardioid, timed to lessen the impact of the bass on the stage.

OK, Meyer calls it LFC. Is it Meyer's name for a cardioid sud array ? Please and thanks
