The making of this game and everything brilliant within it, is the result of hard honest work. Hard honest work that requires payment as compensation, because that's the way the world works. This game is not the work of a huge studio. There is not investors who take the hit rather than the developer. If you play this game for free, then you are actively stealing from the person who worked so hard to bring you a beautiful piece of art. I personally think you have no right to play and enjoy it if that is your attitude.

I played this game when it dropped on gamepass. After completing it i was so blown away that I felt bad having not paid for it so I bought a copy off steam and gifted it. Games of this quality don't come round very often
@@TheLuNaMaStEr The story in this game is just great, theres so much extra content to find aswell as dark secrets about the charecters you can uncover, the game also does a fantastic job of using symbolism and then repeating themes to give them meaning in context of content prior. The story really makes you care about the cast and what they are going through and the games depiction of mental health is actually incredibly accurate. This game also send me into a downward spiral that im still stuck in, as i have been dealing with alot of the games themes in my own life. Ive made the mistake before of playing a game that has a mental health warning at the start wich created trouble aswell. Maybe i should learn to stay away from games with such warnings.

Honestly i discovered Omori through a doki doki literature club comparison post, and I'm goint through it blind. Im 10 hours in and I am HOOKED I don't know if I want to speed through it in one sitting or enjoy it slowly

I was initially interested because of the mystery behind the story, but after watching the preview videos and noticing how similar it is to Earthbound gameplay-wise, I knew I had to play it. I'm glad you made this video spoiler free because while I want an idea of what to expect, I also want to go in mostly blind.
I knew it was about a kid with depression and as someone who struggles with depression, I was cautious before buying it, I think I will next time it goes on sale and thank you, it was you video that made me want to play it (I’m aware it gets very heavy and are planning on playing it with a friend)

I think Omori will forever be one of my favorite games. I love RPG maker horror games, some of my favorites are one of the best games I’ve ever played. I had dropped the game for a little over a year because I got bored during the long ass prologue, but I picked it up and spent 10 hours the first day and then 15 hours the next day, I absolutely could not get off the game. The game is made so well, the music, the vivid colors, the battle mechanics and it was just so amazing. 10000000/10

I get that its a semi-popular game but *damn* its still underrated considering how good the art-style, ost and story of the game is, and thats still not mentioning all the little details that make the game feel so much more alive, and all the ways omori immerses you in its world and story, genuinely making you sympathize with every character, which makes the ending(s) of the game so much more powerful, emotional and satisfying than any other video game i’ve played so far. I really cannot recommend it enough to people that haven’t experienced this masterpiece, avoid spoilers at all costs, and enjoy it at its fullest.
when you mentioned undertale at the end, i think a good way to describe it is that while they are very different games they share many of the things that make them good. (great soundtrack, endearing characters, emotional story, etc.) this was a great review and you explained the game well without spoiling it. i bet some people played omori from this :D

Oh, Omori is just something else, even after a year I feel like OMORI is the best game I've ever played and I still feel emotions similar to what I felt a year ago, when I listen to music from OMORI or watch videos related to it. I'd really like to play it and a few other games in 5 years in order to experience it all again and see the difference between my perceptions of it then and before. There are games, movies, books, stories in general that hold a special place in our hearts, make us experience many different emotions and give us the opportunity to experience something we would never have experienced. And I'm thankful to OMORI for being one of those stories.
It truly is! I also like to wait about 5 years between playthroughs of classics so they feel fresh when I play through them again. It's the best way to not wear ourselves out on them.

Also think I may be a bit nervous 😅 as silly as that is to say. But I think this game is going to rip into my heart (especially after hearing what was said about it by many fans)
I have to be honest, this game changed me. Everything about it was beautiful to me and really had me look inwards after seeing the representation of mental illness. I highly suggest this game and will sing praises about it for years to come.

This game has the most impactful story that I have ever come across. A story about fear, loneliness, grief, depression, and the world of escape. Something that I and many other people can relate to in some ways. Just for completing the story and discovering all endings, it was the catalyst that gave me a sort of artificial grieving and healing process. 6 months later I can say that it eventually left me a wiser, better person. I would say more but that would be crossing a personal boundary that I only would share with close friends and family. Do I recommend this game? It depends on the person. It's definitely not for kids, and if you don't want to experience what I mentioned, I don't suggest it. But if you feel some kind of aching in your soul, whether that's a lack of emotion or personal trauma (etc.), it might help you on a fundamental level. I also recommend playing Hyper Light Drifter for feeling at peace with the unavoidable concept of death, And Celeste (and/or Dark Souls) for dealing with confidence issues.
This game was on the GP, but they delisted it before I was even halfway through lmao. I refuse to uninstall this game, even if I can't play nor buy it.
it's more like a psychological horror game! there are some silent jumpscares, but nothing that made me, the most wimpy person when it comes to horror too terribly scared. of course psychological horror can be a lot scarier than regular horror but the horror never overpowered the storyline for me in this game. so if you haven't played it yet, I would give it a try!
I dont know why, but i cant understand "sad" related emotions I dont know when i feel like it, i cant understand why people feel like that, i can barely understand why i feel sad some times I feel like im luky, but extremely dumb at the same time Funny thing is this game scares me just because i know something is wrong more than the game itself beignterrifiying
As long as you have the capability to feel sad at all is good. The fact you dont feel it often is also good. Some people fall in love with their sadness. It's sad.

This is definitely not an 8-bit game. It’s more like a 32 or 64 bit game. Also if you want a great RPG with an amazing soundtrack and a story that pulls your heart strings while still being fun and charming I recommend playing Mother 3. That game also heavily inspired Omori so give it a shot. Promise you won’t regret it.
I really can't make up my mind on this game. It looks beautiful, and I've avoided a lot (but not all) spoilers, so I thought the game looked fun and wanted to watch someone play it to see if I liked it. However I could barely get to episode 4 because the game seemed so boring and repetitive. Also I don't really enjoy how battles work, but at least they are avoidable. I love to immerse in a good story with good characters, but what I know is just so off putting that I'd rather read the wiki article on the story. I'm conflicted if I should buy the game, since from what I've heard the story is really good...
Hey I am also not a great fan of turned based battle system but trust me It can turn to be pretty enjoyable during boss fights and Yes,I admit I was a little bit bored at some point(Not gonna lie) But at the end this game was worth it I even replayed it even being not a great fan of turned based battle system and This game is a must play However if you are sensitive in the topic of depression,anxiety, I don't know How to put it But seeing photorealistic picture in a 8 bit game and silent jumpscares You should give it some thoughts
@@Fireryyo The psychological aspect doesnt bother me, tbh it was my number 1 reason to look into the game. But from what I saw, the battles are inherently boring. Take undertale, which also heavily relies on turn based battle systems. The big difference is that its not JUST selecting an option, you additionally determine how much damage you take with a dodging minigame every turn, that tarely gets repetitive. Omori doesnt have this from what I know. Would love to play it for the story but from what I saw I'll quit the game after an hour or two due to a lack of motivation to continue...
I'm glad you think so! When I say like Undertale, I only mean it in the sense that Undertale and this game share a quirky sense of humor, but as for the way they play, they are very separate. Omori I think is more fun overall, but the passive ending in Undertale I think blew me away more than Omori's good ending. Still even with me saying that I couldn't possibly love this game any more than I already do. Thanks for watching!

i bought the game just yesterday, after hearing it was a good game from a friend who streamed the first 5 minutes of the game, it looked interesting, it was apparently similar to undertale, so i decided i'd buy it, i hope this is a game i can properly get engrossed in, something that i can immerse myself in, cause i havent been able to do that with anything at all for about 3 months now

Deeper well you have to walk to every time. I can't say for others playthroughs but I had to travel there by foot multiple times.

Ahhh I was extremely excited cause the videos I watched on it seemed so scary and emotional 😭 but I don’t have the equipment to play it (I only have an iPad and phone)
This game has the most impactful story that I have ever come across. A story about fear, loneliness, grief, depression, and the world of escape. Something that I and many other people can relate to in some ways. Just for completing the story and discovering all endings, it was the catalyst that gave me a sort of artificial grieving and healing process. 6 months later I can say that it eventually left me a wiser, better person. I would say more but that would be crossing a personal boundary that I only would share with close friends and family.
Do I recommend this game? It depends on the person. It's definitely not for kids, and if you don't want to experience what I mentioned, I don't suggest it. But if you feel some kind of aching in your soul, whether that's a lack of emotion or personal trauma (etc.), it might help you on a fundamental level. I also recommend playing Hyper Light Drifter for feeling at peace with the unavoidable concept of death, And Celeste (and/or Dark Souls) for dealing with confidence issues.

it's more like a psychological horror game! there are some silent jumpscares, but nothing that made me, the most wimpy person when it comes to horror too terribly scared. of course psychological horror can be a lot scarier than regular horror but the horror never overpowered the storyline for me in this game. so if you haven't played it yet, I would give it a try!

This is definitely not an 8-bit game. It’s more like a 32 or 64 bit game. Also if you want a great RPG with an amazing soundtrack and a story that pulls your heart strings while still being fun and charming I recommend playing Mother 3. That game also heavily inspired Omori so give it a shot. Promise you won’t regret it.

I really can't make up my mind on this game.
It looks beautiful, and I've avoided a lot (but not all) spoilers, so I thought the game looked fun and wanted to watch someone play it to see if I liked it. However I could barely get to episode 4 because the game seemed so boring and repetitive. Also I don't really enjoy how battles work, but at least they are avoidable.
I love to immerse in a good story with good characters, but what I know is just so off putting that I'd rather read the wiki article on the story.
I'm conflicted if I should buy the game, since from what I've heard the story is really good...
if you don't enjoy the battle mechanics I wouldn't bother
Hey I am also not a great fan of turned based battle system but trust me It can turn to be pretty enjoyable during boss fights and Yes,I admit I was a little bit bored at some point(Not gonna lie) But at the end this game was worth it I even replayed it even being not a great fan of turned based battle system and This game is a must play
However if you are sensitive in the topic of depression,anxiety, I don't know How to put it But seeing photorealistic picture in a 8 bit game and silent jumpscares You should give it some thoughts
@@Fireryyo The psychological aspect doesnt bother me, tbh it was my number 1 reason to look into the game. But from what I saw, the battles are inherently boring.
Take undertale, which also heavily relies on turn based battle systems. The big difference is that its not JUST selecting an option, you additionally determine how much damage you take with a dodging minigame every turn, that tarely gets repetitive.
Omori doesnt have this from what I know. Would love to play it for the story but from what I saw I'll quit the game after an hour or two due to a lack of motivation to continue...

I'm glad you think so! When I say like Undertale, I only mean it in the sense that Undertale and this game share a quirky sense of humor, but as for the way they play, they are very separate. Omori I think is more fun overall, but the passive ending in Undertale I think blew me away more than Omori's good ending. Still even with me saying that I couldn't possibly love this game any more than I already do. Thanks for watching!
