  • My opinion, insight and demo of the Ibanez Jem Jr. To put it in perspective, I don't think Steve Vai would associate his name to it if it wasn't up to standards.

    I've had my JEM Jr. for 2 years, and absolutely love it.

    Bought a 2017 Hot Pink Jr SP as a bit of a project. Trem upgrades include Floyd Rose Push-fit Tremolo Arm/Socket, Fatter 34mm Brass Block and Gotoh Power Springs. Massive improvement in sustain and returns to pitch flawlessly (so far). Time will tell regarding durability. I also modded the neck to feel more like the MIJ models. It's one of my favourite guitars now. Lots of fun to play 👍

    I love the look of this over the Jem 7V. I had a few Jim 7V's and sold them after a time. I couldn't stand the gold with white and this plain white pick guard looks so much better to me.

    I just got a used JEM Jr. in Shocking Pink, I love it! It looks like it has a Dimarzio rail pickup in the bridge position (in matching pink), as well!
    I may actually swap the pickups out for blue or green ones... got some blue Dimarzios sitting around, but we'll see.

    hi which one is better to buy Ibanez Jem jr or Ibanez rg550

    • @RickordProductions
      @RickordProductions  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on your budget. The RG 550 price closer to the 1K range and the Jem Jr goes for $500. The 550 is legendary though. It set the standard for the RG line after the original Jem was released. To me you can't go wrong with either one. As I said before it all depends on what you're willing to spend on an Ibanez RG model.

    Ibanez rg350dxz vs Ibanez jem jr which is better to buy plz give me suggestions

    • @RickordProductions
      @RickordProductions  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Jem is also an RG model. It just has Steve Vai’s signature look. They both are set up the same way so it really depends on how you do your own set up if you choose either guitar. Plus either one will sound good with the right pickups and good intonation. At the end of the day, the Jem Jr is pretty much an RG350 or 450 with a monkey grip and tree of life inlay and both guitars cost around the same price.

    • @ThePedroDB
      @ThePedroDB ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@manishlagun4401 RG350XZ has the Edge Zero 2 tremolo and Zero Point System (ZPS). This is a higher spec trem than that fitted to the Jem Jr. Pups are similar. They will play very similarly. If you want the Vai aesthetic the Jr is the only choice.
      I own a 2011 RG370DXZ and a couple of Jem Jrs. WIth a bit of TLC/set-up and a few cheap mods there is no reason not to buy the Jem. I would suggest buying used and putting the money saved towards a decent set-up/parts upgrades (e.g. a Gotoh GE1996T tremolo)

    I just bought a jem jr. used in white. it's fine but what's with the super high nut? I own gibson, kramer,jackson, other Ibanez, bc rich, fender, prs and others. none are that high at the nut. can I just buy a lower nut I mean so the strings will be lower at the first frets. I like low action and this would help the overall action. it's like 3 times to high. I will have to file down the groove were the strings sit or file down the wood under the metal nut but I dont like that because it wood mean it's stronger and I would take a lot off. all other guitar I have are 3 times lower, I would expect this on a Walmart guitar or something. I very suprised by this on a Ibanez. realy sucks. sorry for the bad spelling I am french. If I can get a lower one please give me the link for the righ one... anyone thanks.

      @@christineblack4654 You can adjust the height of the bridge and adjust the truss rod to lower the action on the guitar. That’s what I did with mine and the action is perfect now.
