    I have a 40 gallon breeder tank and I want to get one of these. Currently running a fluval 307/no protein skimmer with a Bluefin Damsel and a Royal Gramma Basslet.

    Hey Brock! As you can see from my profile I have a Tomini Tang. Would it be ok to add the Pygmy with him or would it be bad considering they both borrow in the rock caves and eat algae

      I think they would do well together!

    Can you keep one in a 32gallon bio cube with 2 clown fish, 1 royal gamma and 1 yellow clown goby?

  • @Calilasseia
    @Calilasseia 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Bear in mind that there's a similar looking species that has orange instead of yellow markings ... Centropyge acanthops, the Purple Fireball Angelfish. Be VERY careful not to buy the Purple Fireball unless you INTEND to, as it's one of the most aggressive of all the Centropyge angels, much more so than the yellow Cherubfish. You CERTAINLY cannot mix a Cherubfish with a Purple Fireball, because the Purple Fireball will kill the Cherubfish in short order, and indeed, a Purple Fireball pretty much rules out anything other than feisty, rough and tumble tankmates. On the other hand, if you're careful about the order of introduction, the Cherubfish will live compatibly with a wider range of other fish, but I emphasise that you need to exercise care with the order of introduction. Settle the less aggressive species in the aquarium for a MINIMUM of 3 months before introducing the Cherubfish, and ensure there's a surplus of hiding places for all the fish.
    I would err on the side of caution with this one, and wait until you can give it 75 gallons to live in, which should also reduce the chances of aggression manifesting itself.
    As for the related Purple Fireball ... it's a beauty, but if you intend to take that one on, be prepared for fireworks. It's a mini berserker in the wrong setup.

    Hey Brock, i got a 30 gallon tank, can i add a royal gramma and a cherub angelfish?? I have a watchman goby and 2 clown fish already

      I have a super similar fish collection with a Royale Gramma, 2 clownfish, the cherub angelfish, a cardinal fish and an orchid dottyback. They all seem to do well together and haven’t seen aggression at all. Should go good 😅

    Could it go with a Flame Angel in a 75 gallon with plenty of live rock?

    • @BrockLeonard
      @BrockLeonard  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      definitely worth a shot! Adding them at the same time is best to avoid aggression. Just depends on how territorial the Flame is.

    • @Calilasseia
      @Calilasseia 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Point to remember about Centropyge angels ... if you plan on having more than one species, it's best to choose pairings that exhibit similar levels of territorial aggression. To improve your chances of success, introduce the angels during "lights out", and give them 8 hours of dark acclimatisation to help them integrate once daylight arrives.
      If memory serves, Flame angels are "midrange" aggression wise, and there's several species of exhibiting a similar level of aggression that will mix if you're careful with introduction, and have the space for each to claim its own little piece of home.
      One species I would caution STRONGLY against is a close relative of the Cherubfish, but which has orange instead of yellow. This is Centropyge acanthops, the Purple Fireball angel. This one is a mini berserker in the wrong setup, and will NOT live alongside another Centropyge angel in the typical home aquarium. This one is probably the most aggressive of the Centropyge angels, and should be kept with tankmates able to look after themselves. Avoid this one unless you know what you're doing, because its small size and intense colour make it tempting to the unwary.
      By the way, if you're looking for a dwarf angel with a difference, and don't mind both the cost and the difficulty of finding the species, Centropyge resplendens is a social species you can actually keep in a group in the aquarium. But since it's only known from Ascension Island (a military base you need government permission to visit), finding this species will be HARD, and you'll pay a small fortune for any you do find.

      With enough live rock, you might be able to get away with it. Just watch your water levels, you do not want it to spike.

    Hello I need help...... my boyfriend had two fish in his reef tank one clownfish and one angelfish but then I was getting in to the saltwater hobby we added another clownfish, a mandarin and two bangaii cardinals but the angelfish would always chace them around and I asked my boyfriend to get rid of her and swap but he wants to keep her because she is not easy to chace to put in the net so I was just wondering if there is anything to stop her bullying everyone however we also got a lawnmower blenny but she gets on fine with him ps... I enjoy your videos :)

      Lady Creep try the mirror trick, it sometimes works

    • @BrockLeonard
      @BrockLeonard  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah it seems your angel has gotten territorial over the tank and now with new fish showing up, she wants to protect her yard😂 make sure you’re feeding them plenty, a full belly fish is a happy fish. Putting them in a net for time out sometimes works but it can be hard to catch them.

    Do cherub Angelfish need pods?

    • @BrockLeonard
      @BrockLeonard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most get accustomed to eating frozen foods like mysis and spirulina. However a live food like that is great for first introducing them to the tank.

    Hey I added one in my biocube 32 and my clowns tore him up how can I prevent this from happening?

    • @BrockLeonard
      @BrockLeonard  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In a tank that small, the clowns are going to be very territorial.

    • @bentrap7972
      @bentrap7972 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend taking him back just cause the fighting won’t stop. Usually when clownfish are added first to the tank they get used to their space and get super territorial.
