Not only would guillotine blades get dull, but the mechanism it slid down would rust or bend or swell in humidity in a way where the blade wouldnt be able to freely fall. which would also lead to a lot of failed executions. sometimes 4 or 5 attempts before it worked.

That's why I always thought hanging was easier, just make the rope too tight and short on purpose, at least when your head snaps off it will be instant unlike guillotines.

I just heard that the show " Married With Children " is making a comeback in an animated show. Only difference is , it's by the same makers of " Family Guy " . And all the original actors from the show will do the voices .
