Hi luke brilliant video loved the tour of the inside of the truck like the idea you can see if someone is around the truck at night but they don't know they can be seen loved the orange lights how different that was such a shame you are not keeping it absolutely loved the truck and well done for reversing onto that bay brilliant parking to say it was your first time in that truck
Hello Luke, your channel just came up two weeks ago. I was watching all about the Truckers in Canada. I really enjoyed your vlogs I only just realised you were a local lad. All the best from SN5 Area. You remind me of my old Dad who drove a HGV from Manchester Docks to Southampton Docks and back in the same day. That was back in the early 1960's before motorways. He had the same happy attitude as you. If I see you I will give you a wave. All the best to you and your wife Take care xx
Three things to help you Luke. If you ‘fast drop’ the seat with the button on the front corner (facing you as you stand outside of the truck) BEFORE you get out, not only does it give you more room to exit, but it will be in the low position when you next get in. You won’t scratch yourself. The side lockers are high off the ground, but you can also access both of them from inside the cab, under the bunk. You do not adjust the blue line to the back view, as you did on the bay. PRIOR to this, put a marker at the rear of the trailer (cone, piece of rag or something you can see), then adjust the blue line to that. It always appears to be towards the middle of your trailer, but it is actually at the rear - trust me.
Thank you Luke Enjoyed your video. Loved the Tour of the Truck very interesting Something new everyday. Good luck with your Dream hope it all works out. Luke C. Haulage Ltd. Good luck. Thanks again. Take care and Stay safe and safe Trucking.
Luke question for you. What do you do to stop yourself from stressing out? You never seem to lose your temper, well if you do then your editing skills are good haha So what do you find that works best when you're having a bad day?
A bad day becomes worse if you can't work anymore. That always works for me. A bad day can cause an accident making that bad day worse.. nothing good comes from a bad day that lingers on.
Don’t forget we only see the vlogs. He probably edits out a bit if he’s provoked to anger by some imbecile. I do agree though, seems to be a chilled and relaxed chap.
wow luke i love the mercedes actors with mirror cam i wish you could of had it a bit longer or buy one as there fun and i love the orange lights and the mirrorcam it looks better then the other trucks
Hi Luke, Great vlog have you seen march Edition of Truck & Driver Magazine on the back page there is a Photo of Harry & Sons unit on the back of a Low Loader, Possible for Export, Stay Safe.
Am I correct in thinking the mirror cams “move” to keep the rear of the trailer in the middle screen? If so, then doesn’t that make the trailer look straighter than it really is, which would be why reversing is harder.
As you said Luke in last two video's. You might buy your own truck down the line. What kinda work would you do? As in sub contract pulling other hauliers trailers or also buy your own trailer and do general haulage?
As you travelled down the A414 you could have spun round at the roundabout near chandlers and gone to the Rose cafe excellent breakfast served there ,when I worked on sites in Chelmsford we all went there for breakfast ,but not good for your diet
Luke .... I always drove MAN and DAF .... Scania was shite due to the fact the windscreen is too far away from the seats because you can hardly reach to your nav .... BUT .... then I got a IVECO .... damn .... easy steps to get in/out cabine height is 3.90 mtr. but your seating hight is lower so more inside space .... build in fridge from the factory .... and don't forget, IVECO is part of the FIAT/FERRARI/ABARTH group and you notice it on how it's built
See Great vid love em all. Seems to me tho you set the blue line when reversing up to the bay at the 'top of the skirting board' so to speak, when I would have thought it should be where it was, the line of the road meeting the wall, that skirting board will not be there at your next top most likely
Great video again ,Luke could you please tell me what software you use for your graphics, I've just started to mate football ideas thanking you in advance regards Terry.
I hope you don’t ever change the exit music Luke it epitomises your vlogs also bring back the last intro music too much preferred it , very snappy ! Love your vlogs . We are retired , hubby used to drive a six wheeler truck . Back in the day . Kept on doing what you are doing . Do you eve4 come to the Isle of Wight ?
Wouldn't mind getting the 5's if they are useless now😋😋 For anybody wondering why Luke without fail before driving, he takes off his HIVIS (high visibility vest). A long time ago a driver had a bad accident due to inattention or not but he blamed the HIVIS reflection on the windscreen which made him not see the road. Ever since that lawsuit. All HGV company's give training to not wear it while driving. If caught you could receive a disciplinary hearing but furthermore. Should you have an accident. You can't blame it on HIVIS clothing since wearing it while driving goes against your company policy. Long winded but just in case someone doesn't know that.
Not really sure where you've got the information from, in regards to all HGV companies give training. I've worked for 3 since passing my class 2 ( and various agencies ) and i've never been told. In fact, my current employer insists on us wearing a hi-viz at all times, whether we are driving or not.
@@steveblick168 That's the story I was told in training doing CPC for a large company. I ride bikes but I have a HGV license. I quit the industry 4.5 years ago. I'm a little tempted to go back but so far the temptation ends at TH-cam videos.
Not surprised that you really love the Merc. Trucker Jenko loves his very much as well. Surely the mirror cams make reversing more difficult. Hope your truck keeps going good for a while now without any problems. Great video and really informative. Stay safe and take care.
I don’t drive a truck of any description, but I was wondering why you remove your reflective waistcoat? Just a Q, love the vlogs and of course the Mercedes like Jenko’s 👍 🇬🇧
There's no advantage in learning on a manual lorry in the UK now. All the categories on your driving licence will allow you to drive manuals so long as you pass one test in a manual transmission vehicle. Most UK drivers take their car test in a manual, in which case you might as well take heavy vehicle tests in an automatic. Lorry driving schools have moved over almost entirely to automatics. It is rare to find a manual lorry, though there are still some out there.
I honestly thought you were using 7, 8 or 9's. Im going to be getting a go pro as well, can't justify paying for the new ones yet haha, was looking at the 7 but if this is the quality of the 5's then I might as well start there. I can't wait to make a vlog but im waiting until I can get my go pro and mic, tried with my phone and wasn't happy with it. Should have my first one up next month 🤞
