Even when they did a tiny bit of this song recently during their online concert , it still feels epic . the video the song the dance the outfits piece of art
Blood, Sweat and Tears is a masterpiece, IMO. It was also a huge breakthrough for BTS - they started getting attention with i Need U and Dope, then came the album Wings, with BST as the lead single in October 2016… The song debuted at number 1 in Korea, their first song to do so - they also changed their look completely for Wings…The mv for BST is heavy with symbolism and I would recommend you dig a little to understand it, maybe watch an explanation video…The song talks about the battle inside us between good and evil, how we struggle with temptation, even when we know that what tempts us is not good for us, toxic and desperate love. The mv references Herman Hesse’s novel, Demian. All of this set to a really memorable melody that is easy to dance to 🤷♂️ They are geniuses 😊 Thank you 💜
Which ever song jimin have wrote Melody and bridge is just incredible. This song is definitely by far my favorite song by them. This era and video is definitely my favorite out of all bts discography. 😍😍😍😍😍😍💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜In this Era I found out that i have two Bias JK and Jimin also this mv Is Part of BTS storyline so it will confuse you in the video ❤💜💜 💜Jimin era people
Live performance you need is MAMA Hong Kong 2016. The video is 12 mins long by Yellow Submarine. Watch the full performance it is so goooodddd, with a bonus dance intro by J-hope and Jimin which is jaw droppingly impressive. This live performance is truly the best of “Blood Sweat and Tears’’ and also their song “Fire” which is a beast of its own. Their endurance in this performance is mind blowing alone, without even mentioning the perfect vocals and dances moves. Seriously, this performance still takes my breath away after five years of watching it!!!!!
The Blood, Sweat and Tears MV is pure art, the song, the choreo and their performance. Way beyond what you usually expect from a music video in any genre of music. If you explored the lyrics a bit more you would also know how it's all executed flawlessly in the MV as a part of their Wings album, that conceptually is tied to the book Demian by Herman Hesse, which deals with the transition to adulthood, loss of innocence and falling into temptation. Masterpiece!
This is a masterpiece that I really looooove and enjoy everytime as if it's the first time I watch it....love bts's artistic Talent and how they give their all to every Song they do .🥺🥺💜💜
i remember being obsessed with piecing together the mvs from the older albums and coming up with so many different theories as to what story they were trying to tell. Wings era is undoubtedly my fav
5:59 Jimin's beautiful harmonizations and high note here is insane. I love Blood, sweat and tears, also my bias Jimin did an excellent job in writing the melody of this song and you can see his influence on the rhythm. He is a genius. you should see Lie.
In this era (Wings albums) they were turning to youth with chaos in their mind, losing their innocent. After their first three albums - school trilogy. This particular song is inspired by the novel Damien by Hermin Hesse.
This is by far one of my favorite videos by BTS = a masterpiece! Lots of symbolism here - It's about losing your innocence and giving in to temptation. At the beginning of the video, Jin is in the museum staring at a painting and there is a black door on the left and a white door on the right (evil v good). Then we journey through the lyrics which talk about the members who know that something is bad for them (whatever their vice is), but they give in anyway. V plays the fallen angel who tempts innocent Jin, and in the end Jin kisses the statue, meaning that he caved and gave in to temptation. I learned most of this information by reading info online and sometimes comments from other viewers were really helpful too. The dinner scene is supposed to represent the Last Supper from the Bible. The choreography here is just amazing - I recommend you watch the dance practice for this video - it's really satisfying! Loved your reaction - yes, BTS is on another level...
If you do want more BTS songs with similar vibes on music/music videos, you may want to check out Black Swan (it's a more recent one but highly recommended), or older songs like fake love, and jimin's live performance of Lie.
One of the comments you read at the end 'It's not a song with an mv, it's a masterpiece made by true artist'. Another mv that would work with this comment is 'Black Swan'. Highly recommended. You saw a 'performance version' of 'Black Swan' in your '2020 MMA' reaction. But that was an instrumental version, which is very different then the song.
Blood Sweat and Tears video and song were built and written based on Demian, a novel by Hermann Hesse which won a nobel prize in literature back in 1946. I read this book (because of this Mv) and I'll try my best to interpret and summarize the story here. The story follows a young boy named Sinclair who had a friend named Demian. Demian acted as Sinclair's mentor during his childhood and transition to adulthood. Sinclair as a young adult experienced series of existential crisis, believing he lived in between the world of light (the world of illusion, full of goodness) and "the dark world" (the real world which was full of lust, temptation, anger and evil world). Demian, and later on Sinclair's another mentor Pistorius, believed that in order to become a full person a human needs to embrace both of their light and dark sides. This will then lead Sinclair to find out about Abraxas, the god of light and darkness. There are sooo many imageries and jawdropping details on the MV that represent details in the book. But the point is this song is about the loss of innocence and temptation, about being a human and embracing both of your good and dark sides. The scene where Jin kissed the statue (which I believe the representation of Abraxas) means he seals the deal with the devil himself in order to fully embrace himself as a person who isn't perfect, full of flaws. The white and black doors represent the world of light and the real world. Suga playing piano represents Pistorius who was a pianist in the story. The phrase that RM read in English here was also taken from the book, page 26 (on the version that I read). It says "He too was a tempter, he too was a link to the second, the evil world with which I no longer have anything to do." "He" here refers to Demian, that Sinclair once thought as a bad influence for him, maybe it's because Sinclair tried to deny his dark sides. The book is heavily influenced by a swiss philosopher and psychiatrist Carl Jung. One of his pupils was Hermann Hesse's doctor back then. This MV and song are also influenced by a german philosopher Nietzche. There's a quote by him on the wall above the painting that Jin is staring at. It is in German but it means "You must have chaos within you in order to give a birth to a dancing star". Again, the same theme occurs here, about embracing both of your light and dark sides. Only by accepting your flaws and mistakes you can reach your true potentials. Hesse learned a lot about Jung's psychoanalysis and experienced it himself so that was why Demian was heavily influenced by it. What makes it even more interesting, BTS album MOTS 7 is also based on Carl Jung's theory (hence the songs Persona, Shadow, and Ego were born-- these 3 elements are important in Jung's theory Maps of the Soul). BTS are deep, my friends. They talk about real things like the pain of growing up and youth's experience. They literally make a lot of armys become smarter and read on classic literature like this because of them. lol. Welcome to the fandom! (Please note once again that this is all my own interpretation after reading the book, take it with a grain of salt.)
I just love how everyone watching this MV for the first time be so broken and just literally stare at the screen wide eyes and mouth open when they got to the scene of Taehyung top naked and looking back to the camera with that little smirk on his face like YEAH WE BARELY SURVIVED THAT AT THAT TIME BUT WE STILL CAN'T GET OVER IT UNTIL NOW
Love that you finally watched this wonderful work of art! Agree with a lot of the other comments about watching the BU series and the explanation of this video. So many details that you appreciate it even more, even if you don’t think it’s possible to love it more.
It s inspired by a book : Demian, by Herman Hesse. They literally built a museum only for this MV (even every painting has its own meaning). Masterpiece!
Hi Cody, I hope you react to BU storyline which refers to BTS UNIVERSE STORYLINE. It is the fictional story that BTS music videos are based on. The storyline starts with BTS song 'i need u' that came out in 2015. To give extra content related to the storyline, BTS provided us with a webtoon 'save me' and book 'The Notes'. There are many videos that briefly talk about the BU storyline and the possible theories they could think of when watching the music videos or reading webtoon and book. It's quite interesting and fun to go through the storyline and provide your opinions on the theories. So, I hope you could react to it. ( Just wanted to say there were many references in this music video as well that could possibly be related to BU storyline.) Have a nice day!!
It is such a a cool video. Great performances. They are awesome. YOu think they look young here watch there really early videos. Jimin has baby cheeks still in them.
Cody, this is the gem of the past videos. This one is so full of meaning and symbolism not to mention the singing, dancing, clothing, look of the entire video is breathtaking. Like so many favorite songs I love from them this one is near the top. It’s an emotional roller coaster. Will their art today be viewed in a museum in the future? Reflective on so many levels. And 5 years ago they were this deep. It’s amazing.
I love the contrast of the back of the main room with the good and evil statues. It was perfect. I guess the quotes come from a book they have written.
Actually, it all was inspired by a book called Damien (yes, the quote is from this book), but the book was not written by BTS. But nonetheless for people who like reading is super cool how we kind of get “book recommendations” from BTS, they feel inspired by some like the one I mentioned before and make music, sometimes they speak about it and other ways. Super cool 🥰 Even to understand them a little better as well! I also love the contrasts, all the settings and clothes. Everything was SO perfect! 😍
The whole album "Wings" is inspired by the novel "Demian" (1919) by the German Nobel prize writer Hermann Hesse. It is about growing up, becoming an adult, losing innocence, struggling, fighting between good and evil and finding yourself. This MV has a lot of references to art, literature, philosophy and psychology. Everything on it has a meaning. I recommend to watch an explanation video because you're missing a lot and I'm sure you would enjoy it even more if you'd understand what's all this about. It's mind-blowing.
I knew this song well before I became an army. I think the first time I saw this mv was like 3 weeks after it had been uploaded. It's one of my absolute favorite BTS songs cus it stuck with me for literal years.
Really enjoy your reaction 💜 For me it was a cultural shock as well when I first watched it (and it was one of the first song I whatched). They're amazing storytellers! This is one of their MVs which should go together with the explanation video. It always blows me away of how many references to other pieces of art and hidden meaning could be included in "something-looks-like-a-love-song" BTS MV. Not sure but it looks like you haven't watched Spring day yet. If you decide to do it one day, the explanation for that MV is a MUST.
Hi Cody, your reaction to this song is priceless! I imagine back to when I first heard this song. I was blown away. This is a Bts Masterpiece! They have many more. I love BST, Black Swan and my ultimate favorite (you should check this out) is Jimins solo Lie! Be well, stay safe. Borahae 💜.....
Second! 😁 Cody, you should check out the explained by DKDKTV or Bookish Theories regarding the artwork and symbolisms used in the video. Think you'd like it.
We were waiting that you would move to other eras (or easy words each new album release) I do not know if someone else has told you but in many of the BTS songs they have a lot of meaning and theories behind thanks to the inspiration by books, personal experiences and others, and for that there is a BU (BTS Universe, which is basically a timeline / relationships between several of the songs/ MV) BTW... Some another good songs for you to react will be: - Louder Than Bombs -House of cards -Mic drop -Home - Boy with luv - My time - Filter - Lie - Still with you - Promise - Inner Child -Awake And more Pd: good luck
Your reaction to this made my day! You’re defiantly going to want to add Black Swan MV (followed by live version of course) because you’re going to be floored by that as well!
Cody - you need to watch a BS&T explained video. There is a good one the channel "Don't Worry I'm Not Afraid." When you understand what is going on in the MV you will appreciate it on a whole other level. It's pure genius!
The most famous hit of the king of rock 'n' roll in an unrivaled performance. Gorgeous, phenomenal performance by Diana ❗ NEW: 25.09.2021 Diana Ankudinova Can’t Help Falling in Love (Elvis Presley / DARK VERSION cover) Please react to Diana Ankudinova ! She has insane and unique vocals and great stage presence and her performances (from the show You are Super ! ( win twice ) are gorgeously choreographed and you should find them very interesting. Top song choices are up Wicked Game, Derniere Danse, Blizzard, Human, River. She is really an amazing young artist!

@Cody McManus please watch the explanation video for this one. It has references to the story of Damian and many insights into the BU. Love your reactions 💜
Your reaction is so relatable! There are so many layers & levels to BTS you can stay in the shallow end just enjoying the bops or you can dive deep over and over in the deep end. If you watch J-Hope’s masterpiece Boy Meets Evil, it’s a good companion piece & introduction to Blood, Sweat & Tears. Also, dust off your college reading list of Demian by Hermann Hesse if you really want to understand what’s going on here. In addition, the art & religion references in the MV are mind boggling! 💜😘💜
you should react to the live performances of each mv. It will help you figure who is singing which part too. And not to mention they are great live performers.
While you gushed on the song vocals and rap part as well as the video concept, wait until you see the explanation behind this song and symbolism behind every MV details. Please look for the explanation video and get blown away big time. 😀

Blood, Sweat and Tears is on another level...such an amazing song and MV!!
Blood Sweat and Tears video and song were built and written based on Demian, a novel by Hermann Hesse which won a nobel prize in literature back in 1946. I read this book (because of this Mv) and I'll try my best to interpret and summarize the story here.

Your reaction to this made my day! You’re defiantly going to want to add Black Swan MV (followed by live version of course) because you’re going to be floored by that as well!
BST moment iss just different but beautiful and perfect💜
I am like 100% sure that you would absolutely love I need u, run, save me and fake love.
Welcome to the I need to watch that again Club!!!!
Cody - you need to watch a BS&T explained video. There is a good one the channel "Don't Worry I'm Not Afraid." When you understand what is going on in the MV you will appreciate it on a whole other level. It's pure genius!
Cody their live performance of this song is sick. You must check that out! 💜
The most famous hit of the king of rock 'n' roll in an unrivaled performance.

Please react to Diana Ankudinova !
She has insane and unique vocals and great stage presence and her performances (from the show You are Super ! ( win twice ) are gorgeously choreographed and you should find them very interesting. Top song choices are up Wicked Game, Derniere Danse, Blizzard, Human, River. She is really an amazing young artist!

i had the exact same reaction when first listening/ watching it! i heavily suggest ‘black swan’ mv
omaigod ... i hope ur okay HAHAH we all were shocked when we saw this jaw dropping mv too
'run' is such a beautiful song and have a wonderful mv too. i hope you react to it.
welcome in the world of BTS
this is one of my fave songs of theirs, it’s full of symbolism so you may want to watch an explanation video for it.
Jimin He came up with the melody blood sweet... It's awesome and we all know why this song is so unique💕
Oh thats cool. I really like the melody
@Cody McManus please watch the explanation video for this one. It has references to the story of Damian and many insights into the BU. Love your reactions 💜
2016 mama Full performance BTS, I recommend. You can watch blood sweat tears and fire live and amazing dance
I think thats a great idea!
All the music stop seeing the ballon go and yoongi on the organ:
Yoongi:I remember hitting my head on metal pipe-
While you gushed on the song vocals and rap part as well as the video concept, wait until you see the explanation behind this song and symbolism behind every MV details. Please look for the explanation video and get blown away big time. 😀
the mv is part of the BU storyline 😁
Cody please react to Dear Class 2020 of BTS its cool you will definitely love it...
Bs&t is my first bts mv i watched and i fall for the first sight when i looked at Jungkook😭💜 and that’s how i became an army since 2017.
it involves the writings of Carl Jung, Nietzsche, and a novel by H. Hess called Damian.
J-hope and jimin ate this song!!
It is an awesome song 🔥🔥
waaahhh im laaaate!!! please watch the explanation of this MV. it has a lot of symbolism. yes, BTS is on another level!! thank you!
Wow yes i need to!
