    The absolute BEST review on this camper!!! Well narrated and detailed, do you know what the tounge height is when the trailer is level?? I will be using my 66 Impala to pull it with when I get one but I'm doing some preliminary homework first. Thanks guys!
    P.S. why are you selling this one? Going bigger?

    • @GrayLineOverland
      @GrayLineOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will ask my brother about the weight but to answer the question of why selling, yes he has gotten a class A motor home and is towing the Jeep behind it now.

      @@GrayLineOverland I will and Tynan you again but please don't ask your brother the weight of the tongue in looking for the HEIGHT!!! When it's level. Thank you again and keep up the good work.

    • @GrayLineOverland
      @GrayLineOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ok so the tongue height is 20.5 inches to make it level but the jeep didn’t even tow at level and did fine. I will say this they make a classic instead of the sport that doesn’t sit as high and and has more retro styling you should look at for towing behind the impala.

    • @dblackkw
      @dblackkw 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GrayLineOverland thank you for that information I appreciate you taking the time to measure it for me and I have seen the classic version of the 109 but all I see are the off road version. I just checked the height of my hitch on my impala and it sits at 21 inches, fortunately I can adjust that with the airshocks that I installed. I kinda like the rims and tires on the sport version but I would love to know what the lug pattern is on the rims. I have 4.75in (gm small bolt pattern) on the Impala I think it would look cool to have the same rims on the Impala and the trailer. Thanks again for your time and suggestions.

    I have a 2021, I pull it with my F150 or my 2011 Honda Accord V6 coupe. Car pulls if fine for on road trips, truck allows us to have additional gear, ATV and supplies. We set up a pop up tent for a changing room, storage and bathroom, similar porta potty as in this video. We hunt out of ours and are in the woods for at least a week at a time during season. We ran 4 sections of PVC conduit in the rack, front to back, for kayak cradles and we carry our Hobie kayaks in them for fishing trips. We run a 2K inverter generator to power everything, just don't run the AC and the microwave at the same time. Great review gents.

    I've now watched about a hundred camper reviews and keep coming back to this model. A true off-road camper would be nice but the only option for under $20,000 seems to be an empty box on wheels with no amenities whatsoever. This seems to be the perfect budget friendly compromise.

    • @GrayLineOverland
      @GrayLineOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So yes this is a good trailer but definitely not very off-road worthy outside minor stuff but another one to consider checking out is the Kong I plan to do a video of one when I have the chance. You can get a Kong for around 10,000 and comes with ac.

    • @harrymills2770
      @harrymills2770 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I kind of like the empty boxes, so I can put in what I want, with maximum cargo flexibility. But a lot of people like me already have good camping kit, and the trailer means more gear and instant bed. Those slide-out galleys and what-not are good for tailgating (quick meals on the road), but I've been tailgating off the back of my pickup since the 1980s, and have it down to a science.
      Also, I'm more of a primitive-area camper and less of a campground camper. I also enjoy the zen of setting up a good camp. People want conveniences, when for me, half the fun is the work of making a comfy, self-sufficient camp. Part of the fun of camp is there's always a way to be productive with your time. No t.v. No Internet.
      I also like things to be as open-ended as possible. A tiny, efficient wood stove is a feature I really like, but nobody will put one in. I think the only UL- and EPA-certified RV stove is the Kimberly, and its price tag is something like $4,000. But I wouldn't hesitate to buy a cheap offroad/rougher-road trailer and plonk a high-dollar wood stove in it.
      After years of outdoor adventures in all weathers, I think a tiny wood stove is an important back-up. And you can generate electricity off them, if necessary (See "TEG.").

    I love it. Great review. I’m thinking of pulling one of these with a Jeep Gladiator. I’ve been looking at these for a couple of years and watched the prices go up. The portable toilet is the biggest downside to these small trailers, but I think it will work.

    • @GrayLineOverland
      @GrayLineOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely and the portable toilet isn’t as bad if you are staying in the same spot for a couple days but more of a pain if you have to set up and tear down every day.

    Great review of the 109 Sunray. I was looking at these in 2019 but being in Canada it was hard to find one in my area, Alberta Canada. I did get a small comparable trailer, 2019 Geo Pro 12SRK which is the same lenght. It's very similar to yours. I'm just finishing up my 3rd camping season and I love these little RV trailers. I like to be more outside vs inside and it fits in my garage as well. I have had no issues to date. Enjoy your 109, it look great with the upgrade you did.

    I'm new to this camper, after looking at many in the past couple of years. You guys did a great to job in presenting this unit inside and out. Great job! Question: How would you rate the build quality? It's common knowledge that during Covid the quality has slipped a bit. What say you, about this company and this model in particular? Thanks so much.

    • @GrayLineOverland
      @GrayLineOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My brother said as it is when you get it this trailer needs some things to make it stronger but they are small upgrades that most will do easily. The quality is not the same as the higher end options as it isn’t as rugged but for what most will use it for it is plenty especially considering before COVID you could buy one for 11k.

      He does own larger trucks that can tow anything but I think you miss the point of a small camper. This is to tow behind a Jeep not a truck so you can do off-roading because I’m going to tell you right now trucks can’t go the places jeeps can period. The point of this video is not to look at best camper all around but to look at small campers towed buy jeeps or SUV’s if it’s not for you that’s fine.
