You are such a treasure, and I'm so happy I found your channel (and subbed : } ) last week. This is my own fault, I was bragging about my wonderful little printer -- my good one got blasted by lightning, and I found this one -- and another one as a back-up -- at the thrift store -- the good one was five bucks; it's one of the HP that was built for printing pictures, and the quality was terrific -- this expensive, but cruddy No. 2 was $7 -- well, the paper sensor went out -- if your printer starts loading the paper midway and then saying it's out of paper -- toss it; there is no fix -- and I had just bought new cartridges !!! No. 2 was a newer all in one and now I know why it got tossed to the curb -- I'm going to try to pull the paper sensor out and try to fix No. 1 -- so I grabbed backup No. 2 -- which I hadn't used -- and the (fill in the blank w/ really bad words) won't print in color at all, and in b & w w/ lines -- I've cleaned, aligned everything -- because I saw this project and said -- ooh, I want to do that -- well, I happened to have one image and I pulled up my big-girl boot straps and plugged up my big-girl sewing machine -- I don't have time cards, but I had just been to the grocery store and I always get brown paper bags, and I used that as the base, and then I pulled out all kinds of scraps and stuff, so my one image is going on the cover, but it's such a blast making this -- I made mine a little wider and decided it won't be a one-day project -- I'm making beef irish stew for Mem. Day, and it's cooking away and I'm watching the west wing on netflix and thinking very warm thoughts of you -- thank you sincerely for posting and the tutorial -- I've been saving for a color laser printer, so I'll hit the thrift store tomorrow and see what they have for cheap -- I can always add images -- just wanted to say thanks for doing this; it's so appreciated !!!! I actually am liking those large TH number stamps better than in the book. The look really vintage. I am eager to try to make some of these. Really nice tut 🙂
Well, we shouldn’t exactly copy another person’s art work. Another person’s work should be inspiration, a jumping off place. The time card is mostly covered by collage, so the base can be whatever you have or it could be something you make. Your skinny journal is fabulous. Your innovations make it better, especially the according folding versus loose pages. I have this Somerset issue, and have looked over this project several times because it is so unique. You made something unique by using the Somerset original as inspiration. If a person doesn’t have number stamps, letters could work or something completely different, like flowers cut from a garden seed catalog. Gotta get our imaginations soaring after watching your excellent tutorial. Not to copy, but to create our own art.
