I still can't understand why Jeremy's P45 never caught on
As soon as it went electric, that was no-go.
As Top Gear and its fanbase live by, no one should have open mind towards EVs, no matter what capabilities they have nor what amount praise the presenters have for them.
Because his genius is just too frightening 😅
@paleoph6168 I mean I'm only interested in how they work from a person learning to be a mechanic side but still don't like evs
@@paleoph6168Because they have no heart or soul. That's just an accepted fact.

Can we get a 'if you've just joined us' compilation?

Wait. Don't the Australians make that VXR thing?

Hammond Clarkson May drive cars that they dont like in road trip
May with his brash CTSV lol, until the twisty roads
7:37 love Jeremy's look at the camera
Every time I see Jezza eating the chocolate shoe I'm always perplexed why there's a bottle of hot sauce on the table.
Dark chocolate and hot sauce actually go well together.

That Concept One didn't survive the end of the testing, when a hillclimb ended in a flip, exploding batteries, and a broken leg for Hammond, which the Hamster brought up regarding his test of the Nio EP9 alongside his other most famous crash in the jet-powered Vampire dragster

4:25 I remember having such a crush on the Karma back in high school. It's no super car but still pretty for it's time.
Oh bloody hell compilation
"Turn over to the soft porn and nazi sharks on Channel 5." God, that's the most accurate and damning summary of that channel I've ever heard.
Can you make a “but it didn’t/but it wasn’t/it wasn’t” compilation? There’s a few of those
I've always, and always will be a fan of the combustion engine. Nothing will ever replace the sound of the v8/10/12.
But man, if you tell me that I can buy a car for the same price I can buy a normal sedan for in 10-20 year's time that will get me to 0-100 in under 2 seconds?
Sorry, but as much as I'm going to miss hearing the sweet sweet sound of a spitty spitty bang bang v10, electric power is the next big step for us.
It's going to be extremely weird one day. You might still have that sweet sweet "car", but you'll be the only one at that stop light making sound from a car.
That's gonna be one weird day.
Praying to God that in 10 to 20 years time we just have good public transport and 50% of the space in cities can be reclaimed from parking spaces. Seriously just look around as you drive. Parking lots are bigger than the buildings they surround lol
If only our tire technology could keep up with the power that electric motors produce.
And also the enough resource of electricity around the world. I only hoping a hybrid or hydrogen engine for that one.
People just have to stop being childish about electrical cars. I am a huge petrol head myself but factually speaking electrical cars are just better. Better driving comfort, less vibration, less noise, less maintenance, etc. Those are things that matter in the real world. And the world is eventually going to run out of fossil fuels if want to or not. All those counter arguments from the last century about the fire hazard, range, lack of charging stations etc. those things aren't problems anymore for modern electrical cars. Most people who claim to need 500km+ range don't even use their cars for anything else than their 20km shopping trip. And even if the European car manufacturers won't build electric cars- China is already and they are already exporting them to Germany of all countries. So if we don't want the European automobile industry to die like the British did, we better get a hold on ourselves or sooner or later we will risk a big part of Europe's prosperity
Will never happen.
Thanks for your service mate
I love that you didn't include James driving the LaFerrari.
That’s just a Hybrid vehicle, not fully electric.
Why not do a compilation with the Austin Allegro or even Mini!

1:30 I'm always amazed that Jeremy left it until he had 7 miles of range left before thinking about finding somewhere to charge. I didn't do that in my petrol car let alone an electric one. The problem with the older Top Gear EV clips is that the tech and infrastructure has leapt forward massively in the last 5-10 years. Back then you didn't have rapid chargers that would charge a battery in 30 minutes, and you didn't have them all over the place like you do now.
A lot of petrol stations, pubs, supermarkets, shopping centres, etc have rapid chargers. For instance I spent a week this summer driving around Cornwall in my EV with no problems. My trip up to Blackpool last month however had a couple of minor inconveniences that cost me maybe half an hour.
Who cares
No one asked
There are scence in the Grand Tour where Jeremy drives a Tesla
Wonder what song was used in the NIO EP9 section
Apparently it's Elevate - Snavs
Thanks!

Still rather have the Lambo
Hearing Jeremy Clarkson say "warp speed, I want my Mommy", all this stupid nonsense that Tesla does. Hearing it from Jeremy Clarkson it really shows how childish Elon is.
What episode was James driving a BMW i3 from?
Grand Tour Season 1 Ep 13
Im gonna get some fire for this but IDC. You know the car community is just wrong when even these three can accept that they like electric cars and the car community still wont listen
Agreed. A lot of car enthusiasts are stubborn, but you know something's wrong when you're even more stubborn than Jeremy Clarkson.
Not a big fan of electric cars. They're not as satisfying, particularly as the engine makes them deadly silent. You barely feel the power. It doesn't help that the designs aren't particularly interesting and that you need to charge it often. But it is more sustainable, so I guess there's that.
gotta love my rav4 2017 with self charging hybrid!

Self charging….😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 burning petrol to fill the battery😂😂
Electric cars are quick, not fast. By which I mean they can do 60 in 2 seconds and do a standing 1/4 mile in ~10 seconds all day til the batteries go flat, but they reach their ceiling there. in this video Clarkson drag races a Model X with an Audi R8, and as is very clear (and he even mentions it) the Audi was gaining FAST. An extra 50 metres maybe and that R8 is two car lengths ahead, easily - because the petrol cars can carry onto 200mph+, whereas a Tesla or any other electric car would cap out at about 170, if that, as their one gear comes to an end. EVs are fast to their top speed yes, but only quick overall, putting them all in all slower than the petrol cars we know and love
Rimac Nevera has top speed of 260mph
Except the rimac
Pinninfarina Batista? Rimac nevera? concept 1? nio ep9? vw id.r? Lotus Evija? Aspark Owl? I get why you would have a bias for ICE but atleast get ur facts straight.
Oh the Tesla tops out at 170 MPH. My Silverado is a lot slower. Partially because it's as aerodynamic as a brick and the tires are rated to about 110 MPH if I'm lucky. 170 MPH is about 150 MPH faster than most drives can safely handle.
Teslas have always been poo
I like the effort but I hate electric cars
They’re great for around town if you have a garage to charge them in privacy. Give me a manual V8 any day though
What a first comment lol.
This truly is a Top Gear fanbase.
They're just cars. Why hate them?
@@jamesengland7461it’s like using a phone, has only one purpose, can’t fix them yourself, need specific training and they have no personality
I like the idea of being able to charge them myself but I really would not get myself one. Electric is the future but I will remain like those horse enthusiasts.
Hammond exaggerates, as always ... it's boring
Watching this just shows me more proof that Electric Vehicles are NOT the future!
That's called confirmation bias. No matter what evidence you're presented with, the conclusion you draw is always the same as the opinion you originally held.
I don't object to an E xtremely V olatile, per se but I do object to the nanny state dictating to me what I can and can't drive.
@@orwellboy1958 Nobody is dictating anything. EVs being available for sale doesn't mean gas cars are going away anytime soon, nor is there any chance of them being banned in the foreseeable future. And if you want to talk about "volatile", how about driving around with a tank of extremely flammable liquid that could send the whole car up in flames at the slightest spark? I know EVs have had some teething problems with batteries, but let's not pretend that cars catching fire is a new problem in any way.
@@michaelramsey82 But if we don't pretend that the gubmint is coming for our cars, how can middle-class white boys in England satisfy their persecution complex?
Please do a top gear dog/spaniel compilation!!!
Well, Clarkson and May drive electric cars.
Hammond just crashes.
