The use of The Batman Family is one of the reasons WHY I liked Batman Eternal! I LOVED IT!
Batman eternal was an excellent run. Kept me on the edge of my seat with each issue. The overarching mystery was great.
my favorite batman stories are the mystery ones and this one was great

Loved Eternal, gripping store front to back. I have all of the single issues, I’ll have to pick this up for sure. Batman and Robin Eternal was great also.

Jason Bart was pre-new 52, a detective initially paid by Batman, to be his eyes during the day. It was really interesting! It was during the Face the Face event (post-Infinite Crisis).
I know that it's all subjective, but it's nice to get a short rundown on what the artwork looks like and what stories we can expect. I really appreciate your content because it matters a lot as to what i will or will not buy.

I do like a good whodunit. I like bats best when he's in his dark knight detective mode so I might give this a go.

A pity Snyder wasn't the only writer of this series (probably he was busy enough writing the N52 Batman), but still, good series and great Omni.

I've been on the fence. Think I'm gonna pick it up and see what's up. I don't mind the secondary cast getting some love. I enjoy a good who done it story.

love this run have all the issues and also all the batman and robin eternal,i see ppl complaining not enough batman but thats what i loved about it,good to see the rest of the bat family get some love for a change!

At some point. I'll grab this. Thanks for the cool vid and breakdown on what this is about. I agree Batwing seems like a mesh of Iron Man and Batman. Can't deny though his suit is what inspired the Batman Beyond one in the future which is fire.
I was kinda conflicted on whether or not this omnibus was worth purchasing... I’ll probably hold off for the time being, but appreciate your honest review regardless. You’re my go-to on all things when it comes to omnibus info. Keep up the good work!
If y'all don't feel like dropping $70 on this in stock trades also has the first 12 issues in a TPB volume for like 20 bucks. Thats what I did and it's solid

At least Red Robin got some love. Tim Drake is under-utilized by DC, and it was nice to see him on the hardcover at least. Is he prominent in this Omni?
Also, as someone who has read "Batman & Robin" by Tomasi, and "Batman" by Morrison how does Batman Eternal stack up amongst the best Batman Arcs?

I agree I found it ok but being weekly there was a lot of padding I think making it maybe a monthly 12 issue series would’ve helped

cool insight. was thinking of getting this omnibus. been trying to figure out what are good ones from new 52 since that seems like a good starting point and i did collect the batman snyder-capullo series.
In the pre-new 52, Jason Bard was engaged to Barbara Gordon before the Killing Joke happened and she became Oracle...

I always felt that this run should have been smaller. I think they saw the idea of a year long weekly book as good and went with it. I got restless half way through and wanted to just abandon this book. But, how good Snyder "was" back then, I read the whole book, and I didn't regret it. This books gives new writers a basic understanding as to how to plot and spread your story.

Thanks for this review. I'm just reading the first one and I have a question. Why Barbara Gordon is still Batgirl and she is not Oracle? This means that this story is supposed to be before the killing joke. But in this case, I don't understand why we have Tim as Red Robin... Could you please explain this aspect? Thanks a lot!
Stefano E. So n52 erased Oracle but the Killing Joke still happened. Barbara taking Batgirl back also booted Steph and Cass out of continuity. They are back now
yeah i agree the whole batman eternal story was meh at best not great but really disappointing also the way they handled spoiler origin felt rushed also tim drake robin gets shafted hard in this story but that's just my opinion.
Here in August ‘20 it’s going for 261...
It seems this wasnt a batman book but they just titled it batman kus it will sell more kind of like the detective comics rebirth has very little batman .

Hey Gem, wanted to ask if the issue of Batman 28 that teased this story before it started was included where it belongs chronologically; I thought it would be at the beginning just as it was published first but you showed that wasn't the case and just wanted to make sure
i couldnt even tell when i got to that issue. they dont tell you what issue youre in. gotta check the table of contents
I started reading those when they came out, stopped at issue #7 I think. It was boring. Not gonna pick it up again even if it gets better, too little too late for me.

snyder/capullo. This story takes place between death of the family and endgame so read volume 1 of synder/capullo omni then eternal

The whole problem with this series is that it is Batman without Batman. Very uneven art and confusing storyline. Started strongly but went quickly down hill.

Hard pass. Not enough Batman is something most comics seem to suffer from. Wish they would do something about that.
