When everyone expected a fierce and baddass Naksu but we got a fluffy and adorable Naksu instead. No one complained because we actually got something we thought we did not need like a breath of fresh air. Now she's back to being the baddass that she is.
Great acting and good job, GYJ! Looking forward to her next projects. She keeps nailing it to a T.
Right? Like they make a season two and somehow find a way to being back nuksu. I just wish we have a good season two ending 😭
I didn't expect this level of convincing acting from her. Both of em deserve awards for their acting. I'm totally impressed. She fell first but Jang uk has fallen harder in love with her. And again their chemistry is 100 %
U were not convinced she could pull it off, even after seeing how she acted Naksu in the beginning, that scene was fire, I was totally hooked. I knew if she could act that role so well, this would be a piece of cake.
I’m not so sure he fell harder for her. It’s pretty clear, now even more, that she was the one who loves more in their relationship
I believe GYJ's performance has strengthened with the last two episodes. She's still a rookie compared to JSM. But GYJ is rising to the challenge of upping her game! To me what is so important now for GYJ is to use the range of emotions she's having to portray in AOS 1& 2 to fight off being typecast as nothing more than a pretty-faced tough girl. That's why I would rather Seo Yea-Ji reject for now any more roles such as her characters in "It's Ok To Not Be Okay" and "Eve." I can see short-sighted producers trying to box in Go Yoon Jung in the same manner.
I absolutely loved & still cherish Jung So Min's performance as Mudeok/Naksu/Buyeon in AOS1. I believe it was a legendary performance. She is irreplaceable. But Go Yoon Jung has done well for herself building on JSM's work while both respecting and extending the legacy of the Naksu/Choyeon/Jin Buyeon character. I was already a fan of JSM. I'm now also a fan of GYJ and I want to see both women treated well by this industry.
@@PhilCherry3 Based on GYJ's resume we don't have to worry that she will be typecast'd at all. She mostly done character that will die or being abused. I like AoS2 but in term of performance her law school character wins.
@@PhilCherry3 So min debuted in 2010 while Youn Jung just debuted in 2019.. Somin already have 9yrs of experience acting before Younjung. Of course it will be a shame if Younjung will be better than her..
But as everyone can see Younjung really nailed AOS both 1 & 2
2:20 from this point her tone of voice noticably changed, it became cold, commanding and assertive. Jang Uk should've realised that is his old master speaking right there. Great portrayal from GYJ

You know what she's one of the reasons why I got hooked in AOS.Her fight scene was one of my fave,I like her voice,her face and facial expression,I was like "she's gonna be one of my fave in this series" she was very mysterious and intruguing and then she died,I was bummed XD I found a potential fave char then she dies right away I know she's gonna be good just base from her few fight scenes,I was really looking forward to more of her scenes xD and then they revealed she's gonna be the lead for second season and man oh man I was not disappointed she's a great actress ! Her fight scene on ice in Episode 1 is unbeatable. Other scenes roll onto the ground in the presence of that scene. 😁
She's doing so great, she can be a bad ass Naksu and change to be a sweet Jin buyoen we are experiencing, that is hard to do but she is doing so good. I'm her fan now❤️

This scene was gut wrenching. She loved him so deeply and hurt him deeply too. And she remembered it all and he didn’t recognized her. To her it is better for her to just disappear to not him again and not remember. Their chemistry and how well they played off each other made the scene even better. It was obvious he fell hard for whoever she is now not knowing she was his soul mate. He loved every version of her even tho he didn’t recognized her but each version her fell in love with. This second season was all about their love story. How Naksu who accepted her past and became her original self Cho Yeong and finally them reunited. It was such a beautiful love story. Chemistry was bonus.

2:07 "I like him more than he likes me". I love her confession here. All along in S1, we have felt that Jang Uk is the more invested party in this romance. And no wonder, because Uk wears his heart on his sleeves for all to see. He is unashamedly honest about his love for Naksu and clings to her relentlessly. Naksu, on the other hand, is so much harder to read because she is a true emotional introvert and a closed book. But in Uk's words, "Just because something is invisible or hidden does not mean it is not there. You just need to know how to look." So for Naksu to say she loves him more than he loves her is saying a whole lot. Her love is like the gigantic iceberg submerged underwaters -- unfathomable. It is probably the second direct confession of love she has ever said to him (the first was "I really like you a lot" -- and only when she was drunk. She "died" the next day).

Go Younjung has been a treat to watch. So talented!! After watching season 1, I felt a bit apprehensive about how they would handle the change of FL. But GYJ has delivered!! She changed up her aura so much that I didn't recognise her as the OG naksu from season 1. Mad respect!!
youngjung's work is so impressive. During episode 8 he had several character changes, he was a tender naksu with no memories, he was a naksu with pain and guilt and he was a tough and brave naksu, he really loved her work. It hurts me so much that Naksu feels so guilty when it's not like that, someone please tell him it's not his fault

The flip from her naive and sweet nature to the typical serious and cold one we knew from season 1 was instant and incredible. It's hard to explain how well GYJ changed her demeanor and voice to suit the change but she's been fantastic all season
Then the scene where Jang Uk said, 'why u didn't you remember everything before I fell for you.' That scene reflects his deep love

In episode 8 when Jang uk went to say goodbye, Jang uk displayed so much hurt in his face, he was so hurt he wanted to cry but held himself together. This two actors are best actors 🔥👏❤️

I looked up rookie monster after reading your comment. She is counted among others like Kimm Taeri?! Wow! But I agree. I loved her in Moving. And her character there looked so much different than what she has portrayed here. In Moving, she's this straightforward, no-nonsense girl. Here, in S1Ep1 she was badass. In S2, she is this soft, collected cute girl who then starts getting more melancholy as her memories return. That's very difficult to do, to play so many different characters in a different way. It's amazing!
The moment Yeong said this "내가 정말." I knew it's gonna be so painful, but I honestly didn't know that it would broke me into million pieces...
Before S2 started, I was excited for kickass Naksu, but instead I got innocent and happy Buyeon. While I didn’t expect it, I loved every moment she was on screen. It was different but it was also fresh. Love her interactions with all the members. I must say what made me truly tear up was bring back the song from season 1. Used so perfectly for this scene. It’s cut from this clip, but I still wanted to say this.
The reason he needs it spelt out to him that she's Yeong/Naksu is because having 'hope' is dangerous. Even if all the signs are there, having your hope dashed again and realising she is dead would mean heartbreak all over again. Its self-preservation, to protect yourself, mind and heart.
Its his hope that has put these blinders over his eyes. Poor Ukie, hope they have a happy ending. 😭😭😭

this is so painful to watch... her remembering her happy and traumatizing memories, and realizing how much she hurt him, at the same time being hurt because he can't recognize her is a whole level of angst! gyj's acting skills is amazing! i love how jang uk loved her before even knowing that she's his master and betrothed. this just proves that jang uk will always see through her and love her soul. they're bound and destined to be with each other. i just hope they'll have a happy ending where they can live and love each other peacefully, because if they don't, then it's pointless! they can't and will never change the past, instead they became a part of the cycle. it's a never ending loop!
I absolutely love fluffy Naksu. I thought it was a breathe of fresh air from the way she was in S1, which I loved her in S1 as a bad ass assassin. Being able to see her in a different light was amazing because it showed us what could have been her life had she not been of a victim of jin Mu. Uk falling in love with this version was necessary, because it depicts that he fell in love for her soul. The body she inhabited was a vessel that carried the soul he loves. These two actors have managed so much and this scene right here shatters my heart but has me awe with the fact that you can see the pain in both their eyes. I’m so incredibly sad that it’s ending because I’m so attached to them 😢
Gosh those who were are still skeptical about GoYoonJong acting… the last 3 episodes she’s been nailing Naksu/Buyeon character! At some moments she sounds like Sumin as Mudeoka!! Can’t wait for the last 2 epi! Hope the writers will redeem Naksu’s character

as soon as her memories came back she became cautious again. she felt guilt so strong she couldn't even look at him without crying. naksu has finally started to put up walls around her again especially after knowing that she doesn't have much time left in the body.😭i hope their endgame will be worth all this confusion and separation!

Her acting is cheff kiss. She is exactly like Mudeok, from her gestures, her micro expressions, and her way of speaking. Although this scene is heartbreaking, I'm glad Naksu is back. Hopefully, she and Uk can find the solution to her coexisting souls problem.

Absolutely loved this scene. Watched this on my phone while husband was playing games, and I was silently crying and trying to stifle my sniffling and he suddenly reacted that I might be sick. He was so anxious that I have covid. 😂
GYJ facial expressions, and delivery of her lines, was so profound and heartbreaking that I miss the fluffy and innocent Naksu. When she turned and her tears dropped on her chin, it looked so natural that it makes me wonder how many takes did they do to make it right. When she called JU his name and telling him to let her go, it was in her Naksu voice (in MD’s body in Part 1), as a Master instructing her student. One thing is certain, GYJ cannot ugly cry. 😅 She’s still so pretty even when she is crying. 😂
GYJ was brilliant in S1, and I was kinda disappointed the original Naksu was killed, so I dropped the series. Now I'm happily watching S2, and her acting skills impress me more and more. Despite the fact that this scene is heartbreaking, I come back to rewatch it, because both actors' acting here is top notch. I can feel Naksu's pain as my own and I'm crying with her. GYJ nails every scene, but this one especially. Thanks to AOS the list of my faves has expanded, looking forward to her future projects.

I cried a river at 1:56 the tears looked so genuine props to Go Yoon Jung (my new fav actress) the way she said her words with her tears while looking at UK trying to tell him she is Naksu but at the same time she didn't want him to know as well! Grr they need to have a happy ending both suffered soo much already please dont ruin my 2023 new year (too much sad ending for kdrama in 2022)
painnnnn. she must know he loves her deeply, he’s been mourning her for 3 years, he doesn’t in the slightest care about what she did to him and knows it was done against her will. i was begging for her to “just tell him😭” throughout this whole scene and the later one. it was breaking my heart.
younjung was amazing here, and jaewook too in the scene in her jinyowon room. they’ve really put their hearts and talent into these characters and this romance, i’m beyond impressed and proud of them.
I would say if the small buyeon did not tell that she need to left the body, naksu would outright tell jang uk who she is. Bcs as thing stand, he will lose her again, and she already saw how uk become after losing her last time. It just pain her to imagine he becoming like that again...
@@of3415 i do agree with that. i also think what Yul said to her earlier got to her too. i can only imagine how much she’s struggling inside to see him hurting over her, twice now, and how much she wants to tell him, but at the same time doesn’t want to hurt him more by telling him. begging for there to be a happy solution to all of this.

I was convinced by her superb acting. She's phenomenal. I usually cry so hard in KDrama but she could pull my tears. Both these two actors are superb.
I really felt like crying as I see this sad scene where Naksu chose to cut her ties off with Jang Uk out of remorse for killing him and causing his heartbreak. But I believe Jang Uk would not blame her for this, for he loved her and had held on to his feelings for years before she came back to him in a different way

The story behind was just too painful especially the good memories that they cant be happy for. GYJ is really a great actress indeed. This is my fav scene in this drama, so heart wrenching. The two leads express their emotions so well here. That “I really liked him a lot” makes me sad every time I watch this scene.
The guilt she feels after knowing the truth of Jang Uk's grief for her for the last 3 years-this is the moment we predicted could happen, and now we won't see Yeong or Naksu's jolly personalities for awhile.

I'm watching this again because I can't move on from Alchemy of Souls. I realized a lot while rewatching this scene and that is Go Younjung's amazing acting! GYJ's acting is superb TT^TT I've watched her in Sweet Home and Law School and I can say she's really good and passionate when it comes to her works. I love how she's really good at portraying four different characters in AOS! And the switch of characters after she regains her memories?! It's amazing! I can feel the guilt, sadness, and longing with just this scene and it overwhelms me. We can really see the changes with her aura and facial expression! Even her tone of voice changed! Like how can she do that? And her tears?!?! It dropped on the right moment when she said "I liked him a lot". She really deserves an award for this! I must say that AOS S2 made me her fan and I will be supporting her for her next work which is "Moving".

The pain that she has to carry... I can only imagine it. She cannot tell him the truth nor go near him... only to let the time goes on and she's gone without him realizing it is her all the time. This makes me grateful the time she lives as Jin Bu Yeon without all her past memories, at that time she can just be herself without all this revenge and guilty feeling, we can see what a bright and innocent person she is if she is given the chance to grow as normal kids.

As much as I wanted her to regain her memory, this was exactly what I was afraid of. I really wanted her to continue to be ignorant of the truth for just a little while longer and continue being her bubbly cute self. I was even upset with Seo Yul for not just minding his own business, But I also knew one way or another the truth would eventually come out, there was no avoiding it. My poor babies 🥺🥺. Jank UK was ready to be second best right there if she would have him. He seemed to not care that she even liked another guy, he was basically saying "well... Uk first fell in love with her when she was Mudeok then she fell for him harder. Now, She fell for him first as Buyeon and Uk fallen hard in love with her too. I can't with this couple. Their love story is so tragic and sad but at the same time, so beautiful.
