Just a jokishly weird assumption for the sake of a rather pointless argument. If Gordon somehow shrunk to 155 after going into mma and somehow got to top position, I believe shrunk Gordon might be the only one who could keep khabib down cuz Gordon’s positional skill is miles ahead of everyone else’s. I don’t know how good GSP’s top game is compared to gordon’s.
I agree with you that he is miles ahead of everyone technically in grappling, let alone MMA. But he is also a very methodical grappler who takes his time and systematically breaks his opponents. The problem he would face is that in MMA, you get max 3 minutes on the ground before the round ends and you get stood up, losing all the positional progress you made. He would have to either speed up his game, which would weaken his methodical system, but would open more opportunities. Or he incorporates good ground and pound to win each round, but would forgo his intricate grips and smothering pressure (because he needs space and posture for decent G&P). Either way, high level grapplers tend to look worse in grappling when they move to MMA for these reasons (look at Jacaré and Garry Tonon). They are still very good, but not as good as in a straight grappling match. (:
@@matthewfon3649 Yeah garry’s more scrambling focused style is more suitable for mma due to ridiculously tight time frame . But I am just arguing that Gordon can keep the top position and therefore win the exchange at least within the round if he managed to get to top position through some magic.
