We have a 4th generation farm also and it's being surrounded by housing additions now and adopted in the cities ETJ and eventually will become part of the city limits. I'm seeing so many other generational farms now selling and it's heartbreaking. Younger generations have become too far removed from farming and would rather have the money than the land.
@@alphaomega5909 My property taxes have gone up over 75% in the last 6 years, due to reappraisals and the mayor declaring that an increase in the property tax rate was needed to offset losses in other tax revenue that he helped cause with his policy decisions. At the same time, various factors led to my annual income taking a small hit and my living expenses - food and utilities - going up. The local government can make bad decisions and pass the responsibility for paying for them onto the taxpayers, but if I grumble about the increase in my property taxes, I'm told that I should just sell the land so that it can be used to build more housing for people that are moving into the area - and the local government would then be able to collect even more property tax to spend on policies that will likely cause even more shortages in tax revenue. How is local government NOT forcing folks to sell off any sizeable chunks of land, and how are people supposed to farm without that land?
This is so upsetting
The powers that be are starving us out. Pricing us out
We start losing our farms we don't eat! Sad that other people want us to all die of starvation! UGH!
Hendersonville has basically turned into Los Angeles
The county where I live in Tennessee has not banned new Developments, they just made the regulations to build new houses almost impossible to meet.
I tried warning Tennesseans about this years ago I've seen it happen in three places now
I hope there will be more coverage of this in the future.
State action requirement. Have you not gotten any of my messages or calls? Rhetorical question, huh? #4

What does $321.66 mean to you? Or is that God?
Art sect. Againing. Even after.
We need to start organizing and voting in our local districts. It starts at the local county levels up the food chain.
The government needs to be stopped it starts at the local levels, this is bogus
The Government is not forcing folks out of farming, lol. 😅😅
