I am the gate guy to. The wife always brings them to me. We have to be more careful this year as she had a knee replacement 4 months ago and she is getting along great. We have 1/2 of the calves weaned now. Just hopping it will dry up some in the lots before we get the rest. We have gotten 3.6" of rain in the last week and it's amazing how dry we have been and little rain makes it so muddy.
Hey guys, that would have been a tough job picking heifers out all your calf crop looks really nice! Hopefully you got a good price for the market ones.
Cows all look great, I definitely got a good understanding of why you pick certain animals over others, calm cows are definitely alot less stressful. I got to say, I watch you, Straight Pipe and South sask famers, and all 3 of you got great looking cattle. I commend all 3 of you for how well you guys treat your animals. When you can walk right up and rub their heads etc, it's a testament to how well those animals are looked after. You guys all do a great job, love it, and thanks for the great content!
Working cattle is always fun 🙄😂 That heifer looks really good for not having a momma for a few months!! That warning kick isn't really a bad thing, keep in mind, she's been on her own. If she's really a kicker, that can be trained out of them. Most of the time.
I was always told, if you’re going to calve 16 hfrs, you might as well calve 30, if calving 30 you might as well calve 60. It all takes same amount of days. Lol
Nothing like working calves to test a marriage. Lots of constructive criticism at a shouting level around here too. It’s like we’ve never done sorting and processing before every single time. 🙄🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🍻. I’ve tried it the quiet method before where I just let the crew make mistakes, but it drags the process out twice as long it seems, then they think I’m mad because I’m quiet and not yelling. 🤣🤣🤣. Can’t win here I tell you.

@@bcpfarmandtrucking6560 I know the feeling...
That’s where that barn really shines outside of calving season, sorting under cover with good gates is so much nicer on you and the critters
@piperdoug428 it sure is...the calves are alot calmer
