The sheer brutality of this fight is one of the things that makes it really good. I have a feeling Godzilla could probably just walk off most of his injuries though, say his broken arm and missing eye. Knowing how broken his regeneration is, he’d probably fix both in only a few hours.

This was scarily accurate in some parts to the real thing. Moments like Kong getting burned by Godzilla’s atomic breath, Kong using rocks and buildings to injure Godzilla and Godzilla attempting to (and in this case, he succeeded in trying to) drown Kong were nearly identical to the scenes from the film.

And depicting them as the intelligent creatures they are. Godzilla even started to take some notes out of Kong's book by splashing water as a diversion for his actual attack and using momentum against Kong rather than telegraphed counterattacks.

I love how you took into consideration more than just their relative strengths. You had Kong use tools and Godzilla take advantage of his ability to breathe underwater. Shows you were really thinking about the matchup.
i noticed that with all the fights he has made so far, none of the fighters on either side were dumb. godzilla learned in this fight how to blind the opponent's view and king kong used godzilla's loss of his eye to his advantage and i fucking love it. i love monster fights even more when both monsters are ruthless but smart in the way they fight and it makes me want to animate something.
But on real life the king kong is smart tho :v

Totally agree. You know this fight was thought of. For Kong only way to win is to outsmart Godzilla. For Godzilla, best way is to drown him coz Kong is weak in the water. And that’s what happened. I liked it. 👍

This was way better then the movie cause it focused on them and gave us a real feel of the 2 greatest giants of all, every hit, technique, and skill the 2 had was displayed so well and the ending just topped it off.

This is the best encounter I've ever seen from these two characters. I love how you really understand the characters you're using over how a lot of fans would just side with their favorite. The same goes for your other videos. You respect the canon and do proud by every character I've seen you animate. Keep it up!
Something I really appreciate about this animation on a conceptual level is how the fight flowed. Way too many Hollywood films and Japanese Anime have the fight be one side go on a minute long attack with the other fighter having zero defense or hits back. Then something changes. The other person starts doing good, responds with their own barrage of unchallenged hits. In your animation there is an eb and a flow. It’s way more interesting when you never know who could the next hit. But in so many modern action titles the audience can tell. Now it’s the villain’s turn to get a bunch of hits in. Protagonist will take all of it. Oh, now it’s protagonist’s time to hit 15 times in a row.
to be fair translation of fights from manga to anime is difficult and if the manga is ongoing and the anime catches up too quick problems arise so they tend to pad the fight scenes ... that's actually why DBZ is the way it is...
@@ranjira7893 You are correct. it's a bummer How it brought down the quality for DBZ for a long time. Like many titles though, DBZ has it's ups and downs. Some eras suffered from this to a greater degree.
This is exactly what I was saying. This animation and fight is not one sided but has a perfect flow of back and forth. Both feel like natural animals with they're respect attributes and brutality. They match up to each other. And that's what I wanted to see from the MV film. But it's fine, because this exists.

Kinda crazy how well this predicted their fighting styles in GvK. Especially Godzilla with him going on all fours and overall just being far more agile we than we see him before.

Of all of the fights you’ve animated, this is still the rawest one you’ve ever done. Just two giant monsters fighting literally tooth and nail basically because the can and they want to.

I love this more than GVK it made use of each of the monsters arsenal way better and it was much more respectful to Kong. He actually gave Godzilla a hard time and wasn't a pushover like he felt like he was in the movie.

King Kong has the Speed, Intelligence, Versatility, Weapon, and Technique Advantage (Since he has a habit of sometimes fighting like a boxer instead of a savage animal)...
But Godzilla has a massavie Strength, Durability, Power, Range, Experience, and the Underwater advantage the Kong just cant deal with...

This one is definitely better. It was twice as long, far more brutal, far better choreographed, and had much more suspense, as you didn’t actually know who was going to win, unlike in the movie which makes it clear from the beginning that Godzilla is going to win which is stupid considering the entire movie is supposed to be about them fighting.
I'm finding it hard to believe this came out long before the official movie, especially with the similarities in the beginning! But this was made _over 3 years_ before the official!!

Love how good this animation is, you made both seem like they could win and they felt like true threats to one another. While Godzilla definitely has a bit more strength and durability, you showed that Kong also has strength on par with Godzilla and was able to tank multiple atomic breaths and many other attacks showing he also has crazy durability. On the other hand Kong clearly edges Godzilla in speed, agility, and intelligence, but Godzilla shows he's not as slow as he may appear and has a few pretty smart moments himself. And Godzilla while winning won due to optimal setting, allowing him to drown Kong. Definitely makes it feel like Kong could've won under different conditions. And wow they mess each other up
I love the attention to detail on this! When Kong breaks the building to stab Godzilla, the blinking lights turn off. Also, when we see that Godzilla is Half-Blind, we see Godzilla start to go berserk, attacking and slashing randomly. Wow. 1000/10 👍

I really love how in his animations, he never makes the “big guy” just stupid and strong. I like how godzilla kind of actively adapts to Kongs tricks, really nice to see

@@Zippy_TTV He was only complementing godzilla for reacting appropriately to Kong's moves. It makes the fight more interesting and shows that both monsters can fight in a strategic manner.

Amazing. Alot of scenes are similar to their actual in the movie that came way later after this animation.
To this day this is the best animated monster battle. This fight was well balanced and showed that both titans have the capacity to defeat one another . Honestly this put monsterverse GVK to shame. Didn’t feel biased at all, but a fair match. 🔥
Good way of showing how although Godzillas physical strength tops Kongs, Kong evens the battlefield using agility and by using nearby objects as weapons.

Did anyone notice how Godzilla did the exact same thing Kong did earlier in the fight? Kong kicked up a wall of sand to distract and block Godzilla's atomic breath. Later Godzilla did the same thing with the water to distract Kong long enough to drag him underwater.
I really like that they didn’t ignore Godzilla’s decent reasoning ability too. Not as smart as Kong but still pretty clever

I have seen this years b4 Godzilla vs kong movie and I literally saw some scenes reminiscing this animation
Tbh that was a perfect showcase of their strenghts and weaknesses
- Kong being more agile/faster and smarter/more inventive by using rocks, mud and part of the town
- Godzillas advantage in the water and using his tail/atomic breath
...I'm completely satisfied with this fight and its outcome (love both of them tho)

The atomic breath is a little weak here. This would probably be like a quarter of the real atomic breath. I still appreciate this.
There's a few of Godzilla's abilities that weren't used like his Nuclear Pulse his Healing ability etc.
I almost skipped this as I am not typically a fan of this animation style but I am so glad I didn’t. This is so much better than anything made in the movies. Epic battle that really respects how strong Kong is even when up against the King. Epic!
This is the most likely fight between Godzilla and Kong. People make it seem like Gman is so far above Kong but the only reason Godzilla has the advantage is his atomic breath and his crazy durability. If he didn't have those the fight would be pretty close.

@@oguzgurses9775On the other hand Kong is stronger pound for pound and can actually leverage his power with his larger arms and ape skeleton. Godzilla’s strength makes it harder to really wrestle with him (as shown when he tossed kong when he was put into a headlock) but besides that it doesn’t do much so it’s more to do with Godzilla being far heavier than Kong.

It’s so realistic, you can tell their actually learning from each other. Kong keeps using the materials around him to his advantage, whether that was a building, or a rock. He new the laser was weak against the earth, so when he saw Godzillas back glow again, he threw dirt in front of him to protect him. Godzilla also learned from Kong, here 8:54, you can see Godzilla swipe to the right, because he new Kong would dodge him, although he still missed, you can see he adapted to what Kong had previously done. Godzilla also noticed how Kong used his surroundings, so he needed a way to prevent that, that’s why he brought him underwater, he knew it’s harder to move around underwater, plus Kong would need to get back to the surface to breath, that’s why Godzilla kept pulling him down, or pinning him a wall. There was also no loose rocks underwater so he wouldn’t have anything to protect him except for his hands and arms, which were already severely injured. I love how much thought went into this animation, I’ve watched it several times before, and it still looks amazing. I also love the artwork, it’s always so hard for me to draw something 3D, that’s also facing forwards, but you nailed it, every time Godzilla jumps you have to get a 3D object have depth, and because there’s not much shading in this, it must’ve been really hard to make. Plus I love how you can see the shockwave whenever Kong punches Godzilla, it’s amazing how much detail was put into this.

@@kevinramos4840 no not a remake. It’s going to be a different movie. Godzilla beats Kong, but Mecha Godzilla comes in to finish off a weakened Godzilla. Then Kong regains consciousness to help Godzilla defeat Mecha Godzilla. That’ was from verified leaks from an early screening.
My guy right here put in more effort than most in if not all anime studios and other movie productions. Also glad to have an animator that shows a winner not a draw or a fight where they fight together cause that’s cliche as hell. Final note, this man choreograph the fight with not one side overpowering the other and then the power balance switches back and forth, mans made them fight a REAL fight. PROPS to this ultrachad right here.
