Regarding the "High-Speed Mode" or whatever that this toy has, I don't recall actually seeing it in the actual OVA, ditto for the hard-point missiles. I don't know if they were added in in the Movie Edition, but in the OVA, the YF-19 is plenty fast by itself and makes it to Macross City with no problems or additional modes in the fourth and final episode. Can someone clarify this for me?

+GeneralRasp To my knowledge, tightening the ankle joint is a no-go unless you're willing to do some surgery. I really hope they will make some changes on the reissue but I haven't heard any confirmation yet.
All the feedback I heard was that there was no improvements/changes. After that initial feedback, I didn't feel like it was worth investing more money to confirm.
hey!!! wondering if you could give me some advice here: I have in mind going for a yf 19. I am between the yamato gift set, and the arcadia (i already got the advance, a leg broke and was able to fix it). With macross toys the fun factor, build and durability is the most important for me. One is pricey and the other not so much, but which one will give me more fun for what I pay? Thanks!
I would definitely go with the Arcadia. At this point, the Yamato YF-19 is pretty old and more than a few have crumbled apart on their owners. Of the ones still holding together well, many are very loose and not at all fun to handle. The Arcadia toys generally have loose ankles and wings which are frustrating but not on the same level.
I really hope that Bandai makes a similar set of armaments for their VF-19 Advance.. Those empty hard-points are just begging for some SPP-8 rocket-pods or HMM-111CS high-maneuver missiles..

The missiles are so that you can create the iconic cover art from the This Is Animation Special: Macross Plus book.
