Rule of 1.5 to 3. If you want to compare with prices in India then you can take price in India and multiply by 1.5 to 3 times. So if a masala costs Rs 60 in India. Then in UK it will generally cost between 90 to 180 rupees. Only place this doesn't work is in vegetables which can be 4 to 6 times price in India. This is my experience.
You should give the increase in total budget of expenses on Food and groceries to show overall impact on account of inflation. That's important to assess the impact of inflation.
Also how hard it would be to survive as a strict vegetarian (no meat of any kind,eggs) in uk ? Besides groceries, do you have much options for fast foods and out dining? (In russia , sometimes they didn’t even understand what being vegetarian is ! ….i had 2 restaurants and 2 fast food joints that offered 1 or 2 pure vegetarian option that were not even proper meal (also no indian groceries whatsoever as Indians are not prevalent in russia )…..so this has became a big concern for me after surviving in russia for 7 years
You can bring spices and dal. Ghee is a dairy product and not allowed but some people take risk so it's upto you...It doesn't help if you have to live in uk that ghee can't last forever
How would you carry so much weight back to home..like if you purcahse grocery for 30 days and take it to home through tube or anything else ..just trying to understand...

Is earning 2500-3000 pounds/month in current conditions survivable? I’m planning to clear PLAB and come to uk for medical PG ……just returned from russia finishing my MBBS , we also had sudden inflation but not of this level !!! 20-30 % is way more concerning
