I didn't notice that the face changes on its own. I noticed that it changes after you put money in it, but not that it's basically got a mood indicator. Once I put in 5000 simoleons, wished for a child, and got an evil child. Her name is Kelly, and she came out looking like Wednesday Adams. She likes drawing, playing with her older bother, and ominous cackling. I love her. 10/10 recommend the evil well baby.
Thanks for this overview. The wishing well is often overlooked. So far I only used the wishing well to wish for life. One of the possible good outcomes is a dish of ambrosia, not just one ingredient.

Note: Wishing for life does not stop deaths that you can't plead with the grim reaper to save the sim, not just when grim doesn't appear. Example: drown in the ocean

I know Petey doesn't sound thrilled 😅, but imho this was actually one of the best stuff packs we could ever get for free 🩷 There wishing well is probably the main selling point (new gameplay here☝️), but CAS and Build and Buy are not bad either. A couple of hairstyles and clothing items are my go-to in almost every save! I would have loved a little review of My First Pet Stuff as well 💀 While it's definitely not the best stuff pack out there, I quickly grabbed it when it went for free because well, why not? And then I ended up using some items *all the time*. Like the vertical desk that allows you to save space (there's nothing like that in base game) and has the cutest swatches (plus matching chairs☝️). The kids library and activity table are also super cute with all the different animal-themed swatches, and the colorful clothing, pajamas set and short hairstyles are practically a must have for my children sims. The main selling points are, of course, rodents that can bring you postcards as gifts... and the fish tank coffee table 🎉
I didn't know any of this as I only sometimes add the well. I once had a couple get engaged and had the lady go to the well for child because I thought it would boost fertility, nope ended up with a random kid who looked nothing like my sims 😂
My female Sim Lacey wished for love at the wishing well and she got a highly effective pick up line but then her charm wore off on him, and he broke up with her right after she got pregnant
Kelly dangerous got an evil baby in her 100 occult baby challenge. my outdoor family wished for a baby twice, and got the adoption notice. the third time, she got a ghost child. LOL!!

you can cheat for specific outcomes as well. I've only used the well to bring sims back to life.

It would have been nice to see this level of detail on mermaids or horses. Even though I never knew there are ghost childs in the game - wow!😮

If you ask for money sometimes the well will have you blackmail other sims too.
A merely negative outcome for wishing for a child is your Sim becoming sterile for some time.
If you can get a ghost child this way then isn’t that cool? You can’t kill children in the Sims
What about drowning, fire, and puffer fish deaths?
