selling an audience makeup is fine until it comes to actually using the makeup. you’re bringing back the beauty content i missed dearly. i love being shown how to actually use the products i buy ♡
I loved your videos 12 years ago and this is gives me 2011 vibes. Where it was about how makeup enhances the beauty. Thank you for continuing to teach us
I am a 43 year old OG makeup artist AND can tell you this girl is legit. I literally felt like somebody was literally in my brain -love !!!! Believe Everything she says-I never comment b/c I feel like a lot of people mean well but sound robots and sell trends and techniques to sound -I’m literally having a moment -I could not have said anything better myself!!!❤❤
Marlena is such a good business woman. I ordered from mug some clearance stuff. Shipping was taking a while so i reached out. She was so kind and even gave me a free bronzer for my wait. The products are great! I also got two MUG brushes which are fab. Amazing for blending! Take advantage guys! I got 5 products for 23$ including shipping and from an amazing woman! Can’t wait to support whatever she does next!
Marlena proves once again that she is the best at explaining makeup techniques!! ❤❤❤ Thank you! It's so refreshing to get another tutorial from you!! Been watching for around 14 years (since I was 14)!
U r NOT lying when u say that eyeshadow with glitter does NOT emphasize texture. I’m 46, and I’ve found that it covers up texture on my eyelids. As long as u use it tastefully and don’t go crazy, it’s a very classy look. I get a lot of compliments. Thank u so much for your tips and tricks.
Great techniques! I would love a video on how to do makeup for those that have to wear glasses.🤓 I need eyeliner, but I find it looks so magnified with the glasses, even though the line is thin and blended.
in a time where muas online turned into ads your content is so refreshing and it’s making clear what muas and beauty tutorials are actually supposed to be.
Love this! Would love for you to do an Over 40 smoky glam look, PLEASE! Love your techniques and have cocktail party soon and could use some help with my hooded eyes lol 💕💕
@MarlenaStell I went to Sephora today to among many items, to buy some of the "Scattered Light" eye shadows (singles) from Hour Glass. I tried it ("Aura" ) over my existing full glam eyes shadow from Patrick Ta- Major Dimensional II, and saw it was the same color and formulation. To be sure I tested them several times on my wrist (Patrick Ta - and Hourglass). They are the same. This means all of the "Scattered Light" singles from Hourglass are the same as other brands. I really learned this from you Marlena that they likely are using the same lab and just packaging it differently. This saved me from buying the same products I already have. Thanks for the education, Marlena.
Going to try your Dark Fairy look today but with silvers and blues. Would love to see an updated dark fairy video from you ! Thanks for helping with my make up ☺️
Love your technique! Could you help us ladies with older hooded eyes on how to apply a baby wing? Everytime I tried, it looks so weird like I have a stick poking into the side of my eyes! Thanks Marlena!
So glad I found you Marlena! Very informational! One video I would like to see is how apply makeup to very wrinkled eyelids. Thank you for what you do and for your consideration of my request.
I didn't know u had like a full on youtube channel I'm so glad u were in my feed. I'm instantly hooked!!! U have such great content, so helpful like a master class for all things makeup/beauty related things. I am saving this video bc I'm 41 and I wanna try applying my makeup like this. Thank u for making this video Marlena. Btw u r absolutely stunning not to mention also such a sweetheart. 💯🫶🤗💕
That sucks. I jumped on it. I had seen it on her website before she brought it up. I wanted her makeup! I bought a couple other things. I like the brow duo & the contour bronzer. Cheapest too, but really good... 😊
Do you ever use the product you sprayed on your chest, on your face? - I’m looking for something that locks my makeup in ! (I’ve tried UD, CT, Onesize, MAC 16hr spray… they work but not for the entire day). Help ❤
Stephanie Marie recently made a video about her favourite products and she mentioned she uses the "tights in spray" (I think she mentioned Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs specifically) to improve the look of the décolletage. It may be a more smudge-proof hack.
Hi Marlena, love your content. How do you choose the correct shade from Derma foundation brand to use as a concealer? I have extremely dark circles. Do you select a shade based on your overall shade? Or go a bit darker to cover the bluish/purple dark circles? Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful look. Any suggestions for skin that is dry and with acne? I turned 52 and for the first time in my life I have acne 😭
I had to change my makeup technique around my mid 40s. My face shape changed a bit. The firm contours gave way to some laxity. My eyes were now more hooded and my cheekbones started to descend down my face, making my orbital bone a bit more hollowed out and making me look more tired than I was. I now needed to bring light to areas I didn’t pay much attention to before. Dark eyeshadow was no longer an everyday option. I had to be more strategic when using color and much more judicial when layering products as my skin texture would be emphasized. So much had changed. My makeup now needs a very strategic method. Gone are the days when I could utilize every trend. Now I know what works and what doesn’t. In some ways that is more fun in its simplicity. I’ve traded rainbow colors for muted, neutral colors. I wear much lighter eyeshadows and eyeliners but I still find I can wear some brighter lipstick and blushes. I’m now 50 and I like this journey. My makeup drawer has been transformed and with this, I have too, in some ways.
Great tutorial Marlena! I’m with you on the Sheer Glow. It’s my favorite foundation for years. Any dupes for the Dermablend flawless concealer? I can’t get that brand anymore where I live.
This week I received my Makeup Geek mystery box. I wanted a little piece of makeup history. 😊 I’m so happy with everything I got, the brushes are amazing!!
I agree that one of the biggest mistakes older women make is applying blush on the apples of the cheeks. This makes them look older and like they have rosacea- or a perpetual hot flash. It is very aging. Moving blush higher was the best thing I did that helped me look fresher and more awake!
Can I ask what was the contour/bronzer stick you used was please? I’ve been looking for a contour that’s easy to blend and that one looks awesome not listed, sorry 🙈xx
I love that you are real. You use pricey and affordable. You still TEACH EVERY TIME , and so many have lost what they started for It’s all about buy buy buy. I’ll love it once and oh my god, buy it,but then they stop using it Thank you for you and staying true to and can you tell me why PATRICK Ta charges $70 for his palette ? More than NATASHA .. I can’t get into it
Id love a video like this with all affordable n drug store make-up a broke bis like me can afford. BTW love ur videos, new subscriber here. So happy i found someone who has integrity n respect and ACTUALLY DOES MAKEUP PEOPLE CAN WEAR ON A DAILY!!! Im so sick of seeing all this drag make-up. Most women who have real jobs don't wear their make-up like they are going to perform at RuPaul's drag race.
Why do companies discontinue their most popular, most sold, holy grail items? I never understand how that is seen as a good business decision, or what makes a company ever resort to that seeing that it’s profiting extensively with just the one product they are choosing to remove from the shelves.

Sephora had a day where they had 30% off of Lancôme products and I grabbed the primer on a whim. It’s SO good and will be a staple from now on!

Could you tell the shade of Loreal lipstick that you wore in this video?
You know your stuff!!
I do wonder how your eyebrows are so high. Can they be styled that way? Mine are literally a straight line across my brow bone.
Can I ask what was the contour/bronzer stick you used was please? I’ve been looking for a contour that’s easy to blend and that one looks awesome not listed, sorry 🙈xx
