It's 2020 now... Just watching this brings back vivid memories of those days of call of duty 4. So much fun. I was only 14 years old and this is all I had. I struggled with social anxiety, and truly did not have friends, and this was my escape to find something joyful to do. Now I am 22. To you other COD players back in that era, it was a fun time, thank you.
Seriously after 8 years... I still watch this. Songs, colors, syncing, animations, and transitions are outta this world. But what makes this movie special is the *emotion* behind it. After all these years with all the fantastic movies I saw (especially from 4cid, NikkyyHD, fuze, and FLM), this is still the best video-game movie ever created. Edit: I miss the good old cod4 "Promod" days... Edit 2: I feel old and depressed. I think I had much more fun in those golden years.
10 year anniversary is coming up, and this movie still makes me want to get up and do something with my life; create something that has even a fraction of bueaty that this movie has. 10 years later and I still get the same goosebumps I did when I first saw suspension of disbelief. Happy 10 year anniversary brother, I hope you are doing well in life, and thank you for making our generation's Mona Lisa.
Just wanted to let you know that this is in my "all time favourite cod montage" Playlist that I come back to every couple of years. It's been a while and everyone has moved on but I still enjoy this video every time I see it, probably one of the best ones (if not the best) made back then. Hope you're doing well.
Someone really needs to start archiving all of these wonderful movies before they're lost to time. Even though it's probably been a good 15-20 years at this point since their inception I think fragmovies and edits such as these need to be preserved for posterity. It's a uniquely modern art form with its own ruleset and culture imo. I don't think I would have been introduced to the arts in the same way without people like Katha and joehands0me around when I was growing up. The subversive design and music choices in these movies really gave me a head start in that regard. Big up katha hope you're doing well
Yeah, really. Everything from Tek-9 is gone and all the old school guys are closing their accounts or privatizing videos. Even the redistribution channels are removing them. One day this may be gone too. I've already lost quite a few vids I had my eyes on. Try not to get too sentimental, though. Look forward and toward better things, some of us will remember. Especially Thorin, that fuck
3 years, I reckon I have watched it over 300 times, and I am still convinced it is the only edit style that no one has successfully adopted and probably most editors new in 2014 don't have any idea exists. The best fragmovie ever made, PERIOD
Still... After 12 full years... Time flew by so fast, been through so much. Reality has changed, Earth went downhill. Completely different life, completely different world. Lucky us - one absolute term: Katha's Masterpiece still there. Still do I love it. Still the goat. KATHA! - I bow down before you. Thank you. Wherever you are, whatever you do - I hope you are well and doing well. Be blessed. After all this time? - Always.
While people are jizzing all over 21'Nikky's edits at the moment, I'm still jizzing all over this one. I follow almost all of the CoD / CS editors and probably seen almost every frag movie ever and honestly, none of em could get to me in a such emotional way this movie could. Obviously, as of 2015 standards, some of the technical solutions may not be on par with some of the editor's these days (although i'm sure if Elad came back to editing right now, he would kick the shit out of everyone in terms of graphics/effects), but that doesn't matter, since watching this movie is just an unique experience. I can't recall any other edit that I consider such outstanding like this one. I'd like to personally thank you for putting your ideas/creativity and energy into this gaming edit, so we can all experience your brilliance through the game we all love. Good luck with your work in the movie industry !
AtlasVisuals They are obviously somewhat different, but I wouldn't say they are uncomparable. Certainly, the baseline style of the 2 movies are different, however I would say the general idea of both movies is pretty much the same. The reason of my original comment is the fact that numerous people are calling nikky's edit the best edit ever and in my opinion, it's not even close to that. Without even researching, I could list nearly 10 other edits that I think are a lot more ambitious and better in lots of ways than Nikky's edit. Don't get me wrong, her edit was really fucking sick, but it was too one-sided (3D) and I think it's terribly overhyped.
***** I did not mean to "bad mouth" you with putting your name in the comment or anything, I really liked Ashen Theory and Outnumbered, I just never got around to comment on this video and seeing so many comments calling your edit the best edit ever, I just felt like this would be a proper time to show my appreciation for this video. I know you put lots of effort into your videos and it's great to see such 3D, such visuals and I know you do not want to copy him or anything, me mentiong your name wasn't even "targeted" at you personally, it's more of the people commenting on your videos.
i still come here every year to watch this video, one of the sickest video edits i've ever watched, it just has something about it, that whenever i hear the expression "suspension of Disbelief", i come to watch it, Bytecut i love you for this edit.
watching this now actually hits me hard as the nostalgia kicks in. this game was my childhood and i just want to thank you reviving all my memorys from back in the days. thank you Katha for this masterpiece. i hope you will read this someday.
I keep coming back to this video all the time. Really wish he made more. Astonishing and emotional at the same time. Now it gets a nostalgic factor too.
Alright so after 8 years of watching edits for some reason I still come back to this one, I've literally seen every single edit there is out there whether they are good or bad. Some of them baffled me to the point where I had to research to make sure if it's actually real like the edits of Nikky or Hardypanda. I couldn't comprehend that someone could model and animate so fluently and so god damn fast. I've also literally seen every single edit channel there is in the history, wasdgaming, hazard cinema, you name it. BUT, there is something about this one in particular that makes me come back and watch this one as well as jailbait. The video has over 400 thousand views now I am well convinced at least 200 of those views are mine. I think when you find that edit that isn't very popular and hyped but it still sticks with you for a long time, and every time you watch you still get that same satisfactory feeling at some parts of the video.. that's when you can call this a masterpiece. The "pick up" animation part is so perfectly integrated and the flow is so extremely well done, as well as the snipershot at 1:36 and also the shot after that, the flow and the sync is so on point it gives you the chills even after watching it a billion times, the outro and the intro is simply phenomenal. Also, the small details that makes this edit so perfect makes you wonder how someone can ACTUALLY come up with this, this is beyond me. This isn't something you learn at school, I hate to say it but I am certain this is something you are born with. This edit's effect on me is comparable to when I first watched Wall-E, I was baffled how they came up with the techniques to make the animations so perfect and triggering on emotions. This is a masterpiece that outmatches EVERY other edit in the history.
+Cr4zy4pple I strongly agree with this man, I've seen so many edits out there and I always come back to this one, a true masterpiece. The music, the 3d work, the 2d work, all worked so well together.. you don't appreciate how important a soundtrack is until you start comparing this to other edits or start making your own projects. This is timeless.

2017 and I just found this, I didn't understand why everyone was so captivated by this. I watched 3 more times and it just kinda clicked. I know agree that this is the best cod edit of all time.
I think the reason why I love this so much is the music transition is sooooo smooth and the final animations are fucking insane even on today's standard

been watching this many times since the start, and must say this is my favourite and after that jailbait. i really love your edits, its like you make it, realistic in some way. have a good life katha, luuv uu
I can only find one imperfection in this video, and that is when the guy slides to pick up the AK-47 on Crossfire, the wireframe model is a different character than the one you see after the clip. That is it. Other than that this is a masterpiece visually and auditorily.
I somewhat get a little bit emotional near the end, I love this cod film to bits. Its great, the best even. I have not seen anything impress me more than this, I saw this when it first came out. I keep coming back year after year to enjoy this greatness.
Best edit ever created. Emotional yet intense!

I need to see this fuckin masterpiece everyday of my life... its pure motivation for me and all the editors. Goodbye bro, youtube will miss you.
goosebumps every time, masterpiece
Best montage I've seen and probably still will be the best when I'm old and done with cod.
How does this have 166 dislikes? Is it cause people cannot handle that this is considered the godfather of COD edits. It is just pure art!
its like no matter how many times i watch this, it still react as if it was my first time.
I can only find one imperfection in this video, and that is when the guy slides to pick up the AK-47 on Crossfire, the wireframe model is a different character than the one you see after the clip. That is it. Other than that this is a masterpiece visually and auditorily.
Greatest montage edit of all time. NO CAP.
not entirely, when the elevator closes the song is: Shiny Toy Guns - If I lost you
I somewhat get a little bit emotional near the end, I love this cod film to bits. Its great, the best even. I have not seen anything impress me more than this, I saw this when it first came out. I keep coming back year after year to enjoy this greatness.
Proud to say that i was part of this era in the golden cod4 days gaming will never be the same again best montage period.
