Bourne (Matt Damon from Good Will Hunting and The Martian) confronts Smith (Bill Camp), who admits that Richard Webb (Gregg Henry de Payback) created Treadstone, but tried to prevent them from recruiting his son. Under Dewey's (Tommy Lee Jones from the Men in Black saga) orders, the Asset (Vincent Cassel from La Haine and Black Swan) killed Richard Webb in Beirut, making it look like a terrorist attack, in order to persuade Bourne to join Treadstone. Smith is killed by the Asset, while Bourne escapes.

The Jason Bourne films are a series of American action, spy and thriller films based on the character of Jason Bourne, a CIA killer suffering from amnesia, created by writer Robert Ludlum.
It's been twenty years since Jason Bourne (Matt Damon from Good Will Hunting and The Martian) stepped away from the agency that turned him into a true human weapon. Hoping to bring him out of retirement, CIA director Robert Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones from the Men in Black saga) hires hacker and counterinsurgency expert Heather Lee (Alicia Vikander from Tomb Raider and The Danish Girl) to find him. Lee suspects that former agent Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles from 10 Things I Hate About You and Riviera) is also looking for him. As he tracks these two, Jason Bourne finds himself back in the thick of the action against a sinister network that uses terror and technology to keep himself in control.

Pistol shots from that distance would also be in arccurate and cause less damage to if it was closer
As much as I love this scene, at 2:50 the asset could've finished the job by taking a few shots from the rooftop to Kill Bourne right then
The asset is professional. Maybe he thinks there is no bullet left in his gun, so he has to go down to confront Bourne with bare hands.

There's no way he would have known that he boke his fall with the wire though, and he probably made the smartest decision in the moment which was to covertly go downstairs and wait for the opportunity to finish him off instead of blowing his cover and compromising his escape by firing down from the rooftop. Nobody falls that far onto concrete without seriously immobilizing themselves at the very least so it would have been a simple cleanup job for the asset from that point.
You can't prematurely end da movie... it's not in the script. 😉🙃

@@hock417 .. I never recalled Jason losing a fight. The closest fight that Jason was losing to was in the film "Jason Bourne" near the end of the film when he was fighting the asset (Vincent Cassel) in which Jason finally got the upper hand and killed him.

Nah..he was horrible in batman forever. His protrayal of two-face was all wrong IMO. Two Face was more of a gangster than an nut case...he played up the nut case more than the legit gangster.

But when Richard Webb found out they were watching his son and wanted to recruit him he was gonna expose the program and his crooked partners. Who is the real Director of the CIA? In the third movie, Ezra Kramer (Scott Glenn) was CIA Director - but here it seems like Robert Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones) has always been CIA Director 🤔. Can someone please explain this to me?

Matt Damon has repeatedly said he’s always on board to doing more Bourne film as long as Paul Greengrass is directing it. Unfortunately, because of the lacklustre box office performance of the last Bourne film, Paul Greengrass doesn’t seem to be interested in returning to this franchise.

i am not sure if the moraga incident, was intended to scare me or to crash car and paralyze me , i think death would have caused problems, if i did not turn my steering wheel at the very last second, i would have at the least been paralyzed, even that bullshit police report acknowledges that the car damage was total and the passanger side was completely collapsed
as for the freeway attempt, i lucked out, since i did not have time to respond, complete surprise, if i did , i may have turned the wheel , even a little bit, and my car would have flipped over

Bourne vs wick, come on hollywood do it already.
Those aren't the same genre.
Bourne, Wick can run a gun better definitely. But most of Wicks reputation is just a reputation(we learned later that he had help achieving the thing impossible task). Bourne has a reputation because he’s.. well… Jason Bourne.
In a straight up gunfight, Wick 3/5 times. I have Bourne an 2/5 instead of a 1/5 because he adapts and learns so well.
In hand to hand, I’ve gotta go 2.5/2.5. We’ve seen great fights from both. Wicks is usually based around weapon combat(guns/knives), but his hand to hand is great, he knows many styles. And he really excess at engaging multiple targets *with* firearms.
But Bourne, he’s just a raw “I’m fighting to kill you”. He fights his opponent, he learns how they fight and counters them and wins - with his hands, a pen, or a book. He excels in any form of hand to hand combat.
I matched them both evenly because well, with their skill, they’d both probably die.
Out in the world in a mix of shooting, fighting, being a “spy” or an “assassin”.. Bourne wins 4.5/5 times, it’s been proven that he’s just better than everyone out in the world. I give Wick .5/5 on the off chance that he can get Bourne with a long range rifle shot - and even then, Bourne could still counter.
What an unnecessary film 🤦🏻♂️
