The problem is that she doesn’t understand how much money a Tesla or a Jeep actually are. As an adult, I purchased a 2014 Toyota Camry because it was the right price. The difference between a 250/month and a 600/month car payment is huge
I pay about $263 a month for my car, it’s a Fiat 500 sport. I got it used. It’s a 2015 model. Brakes went out on it twice. But other than that it has not given me any issues. Trust me I would love to have a new car but I don’t see that happening anytime soon. And you’re right. My aunt pays 600 a month for her Ford Explorer that she bought preowned. Car payments are ridiculous. They should be less than house payments. I’m trying to save up so I can move down south again. But it’s really hard to do with everything going up in price.
I bought an 09 Toyota Prius because my payments are under 200 a month and it will be paid for in 2 years. But I understand she's young and she wants something shiny and new. If she can afford it nows the time while she's single and has no other real bills.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying an older car especially as your FIRST car that you will most likely ding up but hey it’s your $. If you are willing to spend the expensive maintenance fees at a young age then go for it. I will never understand why though. I bought my first car with zero help from anyone. It’s a 23 year old pathfinder suv that still runs like a champ with zero problems vs all my friends would have to spend an arm and a leg to maintain their luxury cars and struggle. While they were throwing away money, I was saving money.
the exact reason why i got a 2010 honda civic. an accident is bound to happen. honda’s are cheaper to fix, and it’s an older one with dings already. i love it and will cherish it but it’s also not like i’m walking on eggshells driving it!

When she get off her parents money and going to college, she’s going to have trade it in. Compared to a Tesla, jeeps isn’t even that safe for first time drivers. I know I’m probably going to sound like a Karen 😂 but Evie should not ride with her feet up on the dash. My husband is a CT tech and if (heaven forbid) there is a wreck and the airbags go off her knees are going to her face. It’s horrible. I used to do that too. Until I saw the pics of the aftermath. Just wanting y’all to be safe. 🙂
@@SandTguy It is true though, sitting like that can cause disastrous injuries should a crash happen. It can shatter your pelvis and your legs and the force against faces causes more injury. If the crash was forceful enough and her head hit her knees she could have brain damage and death.
I got a 2018 Ford Escape last year for 13k, when prices were cheaper, and it’s a great vehicle. Never gave me a single problem. But I don’t think over 30k is good for a first car. It’s gonna get dinged, scratched, and potential fender benders with a young driver. I would buy a cheaper car right now and wait a couple years and get her a Tesla or Jeep. When I got my first car we looked at many really nice cars and when my parents came home with an old Chevy SUV I was so upset, but about a year later someone pulled in front of me, and because I was younger and didn’t have the experience and reaction times you learn, I hit them. I was okay thankfully and the car was totaled, but I remember thinking how bad it would’ve been if we would have got the Land Rover we were looking at.
Your first car shouldn't really be anything special. Money aside, you're still learning to drive. It's like a long test drive to see what you like or don't like about certain features in a car. Side note: Teslas do have quiet the electronics for safety. So there is that

What about teaching kids that if they want a new expensive car, they can have it when THEY themselves can pay for it. Sometimes with school and athletics its hard to have a job. I know from personal experience. You go to school 8-3 have practice 4-6 sometimes long then have to do homework. weekends are for games. So sorry if parents want to help their children out. They can buy her whatever car they want. They are a humble family - 30k on a used car is reasonable. PS Evie also helps with the TH-cam channel giving content and definitely still makes her own money- so if you don’t know for a fact dont comment 🤷🏼♀️
Your just be greedy at this point with the tesla car. Get used car and be done with it. Get Honda or Toyota. I've had a couple of Kia Fortes. Last year I found a "used" 2020, and I love it! Has plenty of features like touch screen, lane assist, and cruise control without the price of an expensive car. Kias are also at the top of the list now for safety!
Look at Chevy cruizes! I have a white 2014 as my first car and I absolutely love it. I feel like it’s something she might like as well plus I was able to install Apple car play in it

If you look hard you can find a good used car for under $20,000 for a first time driver! Statistics indicate most teen drivers wreck their car within the first year. We found my granddaughter a loaded Nissan Sentra that was 2 years old that had less than 10,000 miles for less than $14,000!!! Evie needs to come down on her dream car wants and learn the value of a dollar.

One thing I notice with a lot of Americans is that they go straight for dealerships an monthly payments ect with new cars. You will be able to find a nice second hand car that you can buy in a lump sum for less than 5,000 and then you own that car, all you have to pay then is insurance and maintenance . That will be a much better option for her first car. That's what majority of England do.

she should get a subaru! you can get a new one for 30k and under and they’re amazing cars. literally one of the safest cars you can get! like the 2018 wrx is what my mom has and when we test drove it, the guy literally went 60mph around the corner and it didn’t even do anything. it’s made for that stuff but subarus are such amazing cars so i highly would recommend one of them. ♥️
I love Evie but this probably was not the best video her parents could’ve posted about her. It really makes her seem extremely spoiled because she’s bashing on the super nice cars that people wish they could be looking out for their first car. I’m 22 and my first car was a 2010 Chevy HHR with no hubcaps on the wheels. Unfortunate enough that I was able to get a better car for myself when I got a stable job. But I wish I could’ve been looking at these nice jeeps when I was her age.

As a young lady also working on a driver’s license and first car, I’m going to say this - it’s hard to change the mind of a young girl with her mind made up on a car. A girl’s first car is very monumental…like the modern day version of a girl and her horse. I can relate to her having her mind all made up and think the dad was really focusing on the jeep which is his idea in what he wants, no offense. 😅 That being said, I think discussing the reality of car financing is important. Other than that, I’ve been irritated when everyone told me to get the car They wanted me to get, not what I wanted to get. I wanted a jeep for the longest, but finally been talked down to broadening my horizons…slightly. Especially with the current market and chip shortage. 😅
$41,000 for a first car is absurd unless she is paying for 1/2 to truly understand just how much money that is. That's literally the cost of some peoples yearly salary, someone's colleges tuition, etc. I'm just think that's insane for a first car.
buying someone used is def the way to go. I am a jeep girl, however, even my 2018 jeep compass is over $400 a month and then adding in insurance of around $120 a month...plus gas...it becomes $$$$

I work in the Automotive industry in the UK & right now it's a huge problem. Very few new cars being built, nothing really to choose from because of the worldwide chip shortage and isnt going to get better anytime soon. Not a great time to be purchasing a car. For my first car I got an $800 2003 PT Cruiser and it lasted me a WHILE 😂 I now have a 2021 mistubishi and I appreciate it SO much more then I would’ve if I had just gotten a brand new car right off the bat! You can find nicer and reliable old cars and I hope you guys can find her something a bit lower in price she still likes

@@cicicave1279 Upon a crash airbags are deployed from inside the dashboard and if your feet are up at the height of the dash your legs will be pushed upward rather than keeping your legs and lower body secured in a seated position. Your legs would literally fly off since the way dashboard airbags are designed is to project your chest.
Im just say this cause I don’t want ppl to get hurt. Even if you’re a careful driver, if someone crashes into the airbags are deploying no matter what, so it’s best you avoid putting your feet on the dash!

I was a little bit older on my 1st car. I was 29 years old in the mid October of 1999. My first car was a 1998 Ford Contour SE in light denim blue. 2nd car was a 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 SES model that I had for almost 7 years till I was in a bad car accident in early March of 2012. 3rd car was a 2011 Mercury Milan that I had it almost 4 1/2 years till I totaled it by hitting a deer early December 2016. I got that car on June 21st,2012 shortly after my car accident that I broke my left ankle in. My ankle was still healing at that time. My 4th vehicle was a 2015 Ford Escape SE that I got in late March 2017. I was driving my father’s big SUV for a little bit over 3 months before my mother decided to traded it in for the Escape. That Escape broke down on me a little bit over 5 weeks ago. Now that I drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black.
Being tall isn't a walk in the park either. I'm 6'0, and It is sooooooooooooooo hard finding nice jeans that are long enough, or even jeans in general! Plus, it can be really awkward when you're taller than your date- which ends up being MOST of the time lol P.S. Ever since I was little, my dream car has always been a jeep! I think you should get a cheaper car especially as you first car. Your more likely to get in an accident during your first few years of driving. Tesla's are in high demand, prices won't fall for at least a couple years. Chip shortages, supply chain and labor constraints all contribute to these very higher than normal pricing. Tesla's should be way more affordable after 2022. That's after those constraints lift and Tesla's new Austin plant is up and running at capacity.
i’m sorry but the fact that a tesla is an option for someone’s first car is ridiculous like $40,000 is a lot of money, i have a 2020 mini which was a £20,000 in the UK which is considered a really nice expensive first car most people here get like 2014/2015 volkswagen Golfs and volkswagen polos and minis which are all reasonably priced cars not tesla’s for $40,000

What about teaching kids that if they want a new expensive car, they can have it when THEY themselves can pay for it. In the meantime, even if they get her a used car, Evie you need to get a part time job and pay for your own gas, etc. It’s amazing how parents today do not teach their kids to be humble and work hard for the material and luxurious things they want 😕.

Sometimes with school and athletics its hard to have a job. I know from personal experience. You go to school 8-3 have practice 4-6 sometimes long then have to do homework. weekends are for games. So sorry if parents want to help their children out. They can buy her whatever car they want. They are a humble family - 30k on a used car is reasonable. PS Evie also helps with the TH-cam channel giving content and definitely still makes her own money- so if you don’t know for a fact dont comment 🤷🏼♀️

I remember Evie saying she wanted an Altima. I had 2 and the gas mileage & upkeep was SO reasonable. I finally bought a Jeep after having the 2 Altimas. She’ll find the right car. Sometimes it’s just a big search. 💙u guys

I've had a couple of Kia Fortes. Last year I found a "used" 2020, and I love it! Has plenty of features like touch screen, lane assist, and cruise control without the price of an expensive car. Kias are also at the top of the list now for safety!

If you look hard you can find a good used car for under $20,000 for a first time driver! Statistics indicate most teen drivers wreck their car within the first year. We found my granddaughter a loaded Nissan Sentra that was 2 years old that had less than 10,000 miles for less than $14,000!!! Evie needs to come down on her dream car wants and learn the value of a dollar.

Yeah Daniel is right new cars right now are hard to get right away. A few months ago my roommate tried to get a car and when he went to call to see if it was still available someone already bought it.
One thing I notice with a lot of Americans is that they go straight for dealerships an monthly payments ect with new cars. You will be able to find a nice second hand car that you can buy in a lump sum for less than 5,000 and then you own that car, all you have to pay then is insurance and maintenance . That will be a much better option for her first car. That's what majority of England do.

she should get a subaru! you can get a new one for 30k and under and they’re amazing cars. literally one of the safest cars you can get! like the 2018 wrx is what my mom has and when we test drove it, the guy literally went 60mph around the corner and it didn’t even do anything. it’s made for that stuff but subarus are such amazing cars so i highly would recommend one of them. ♥️

I love Evie but this probably was not the best video her parents could’ve posted about her. It really makes her seem extremely spoiled because she’s bashing on the super nice cars that people wish they could be looking out for their first car. I’m 22 and my first car was a 2010 Chevy HHR with no hubcaps on the wheels. Unfortunate enough that I was able to get a better car for myself when I got a stable job. But I wish I could’ve been looking at these nice jeeps when I was her age.

As a young lady also working on a driver’s license and first car, I’m going to say this - it’s hard to change the mind of a young girl with her mind made up on a car. A girl’s first car is very monumental…like the modern day version of a girl and her horse. I can relate to her having her mind all made up and think the dad was really focusing on the jeep which is his idea in what he wants, no offense. 😅
That being said, I think discussing the reality of car financing is important. Other than that, I’ve been irritated when everyone told me to get the car They wanted me to get, not what I wanted to get. I wanted a jeep for the longest, but finally been talked down to broadening my horizons…slightly. Especially with the current market and chip shortage. 😅
$41,000 for a first car is absurd unless she is paying for 1/2 to truly understand just how much money that is. That's literally the cost of some peoples yearly salary, someone's colleges tuition, etc.

I got my first car a few weeks ago at 19 all alone it’s a 2012 Ford Fusion but it works, I saved money for it on my own but I don’t know how to drive I have to teach myself because I have no one to teach me so always be grateful❤️

I work in the Automotive industry in the UK & right now it's a huge problem. Very few new cars being built, nothing really to choose from because of the worldwide chip shortage and isnt going to get better anytime soon. Not a great time to be purchasing a car. Used cars are over priced too right now. Just don't jump into something you'll regret. Good Luck tho, exciting times getting your first car.

For my first car I got an $800 2003 PT Cruiser and it lasted me a WHILE 😂 I now have a 2021 mistubishi and I appreciate it SO much more then I would’ve if I had just gotten a brand new car right off the bat! You can find nicer and reliable old cars and I hope you guys can find her something a bit lower in price she still likes

@@cicicave1279 Upon a crash airbags are deployed from inside the dashboard and if your feet are up at the height of the dash your legs will be pushed upward rather than keeping your legs and lower body secured in a seated position. Your legs would literally fly off since the way dashboard airbags are designed is to project your chest.
Im just say this cause I don’t want ppl to get hurt. Even if you’re a careful driver, if someone crashes into the airbags are deploying no matter what, so it’s best you avoid putting your feet on the dash!

I was a little bit older on my 1st car. I was 29 years old in the mid October of 1999. My first car was a 1998 Ford Contour SE in light denim blue. 2nd car was a 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 SES model that I had for almost 7 years till I was in a bad car accident in early March of 2012. 3rd car was a 2011 Mercury Milan that I had it almost 4 1/2 years till I totaled it by hitting a deer early December 2016. I got that car on June 21st,2012 shortly after my car accident that I broke my left ankle in. My ankle was still healing at that time. My 4th vehicle was a 2015 Ford Escape SE that I got in late March 2017. I was driving my father’s big SUV for a little bit over 3 months before my mother decided to traded it in for the Escape. That Escape broke down on me a little bit over 5 weeks ago. Now that I drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black.

Being tall isn't a walk in the park either. I'm 6'0, and It is sooooooooooooooo hard finding nice jeans that are long enough, or even jeans in general! Plus, it can be really awkward when you're taller than your date- which ends up being MOST of the time lol P.S. Ever since I was little, my dream car has always been a jeep! My Dad would ask me when I was like 5 or 6 what kind of car I wanted. My answer was always "A red Jeep with flames on the sides!" It hasn't changed LOL

Mazda's are great cars! Great gas mileage and very reliable and really nice cars! I highly recommend at least taking her to look at some
Tesla's are in high demand, prices won't fall for at least a couple years. Chip shortages, supply chain and labor constraints all contribute to these very higher than normal pricing. Tesla's should be way more affordable after 2022. That's after those constraints lift and Tesla's new Austin plant is up and running at capacity.
i’m sorry but the fact that a tesla is an option for someone’s first car is ridiculous like $40,000 is a lot of money, i have a 2020 mini which was a £20,000 in the UK which is considered a really nice expensive first car most people here get like 2014/2015 volkswagen Golfs and volkswagen polos and minis which are all reasonably priced cars not tesla’s for $40,000

I took it in mid November 1999 and failed by 2 points. I passed the 2nd one in mid December 1999. I was very happy in getting that car with the help from my father. My current car is a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. I have it since mid March 2022. I don’t mind in saying my age. I do looked young for my age. I will be 53 years old late this month. I rather stick with Ford because some of the vehicles has a keypad to unlock the driver’s side door. My 1st 2 cars didn’t have it at all. My 3rd car did towards the present vehicle.
