MORGAN!!!! You deserve some kind of TH-cam award for the most comprehensive comparison video for 2024. This is so impressive! Thank you for all your hard work on this!
i urge people to check out the Rabanne Eyephoria eyeshadow duos. $25 dollars, made in Italy with a built in mirror AND their “Iconique” shade is a color dupe for the Patrick Ta, “We need better lighting” I would love love love to see someone compare the two (plus it’s sold at ulta both online and in store)
For those loving the cool toned sprakling shade from the duo Still at the Club, there is a great dupe in the Petits Fours “Hesperides” from Viseart ( a smidget less sparkly). They are often on sale and you get FOUR shades for about $25.
Indie brands are cheaper and more amazing than any of the "luxury" brands. Clionadh, Terra Moons, Adept Cosmetics, Ensley Reign.... duochromes, pearl, multichromes, holochromes, metallics in any depth of shimmer or shade you want...I like luxury makeup skincare, but eyeshadows they are ten years behind indie.
Let’s add Glaminatrix Cosmetics to this list for anyone looking. Their neutrals in the glimmering creations/creatures range are some of my all time favourites and blow these out of the water in comparison. Plus I picked them up in their current 30% off sale so are about $8 AUD each. I don’t need to pay that markup for a mirror, brand name and lack lustre formula. It would have only been exciting if PML releases baked singles, otherwise indie all the way.
Yes, I love Glaminatrix sooo much. Their quality is top shelf and has become the glimmer, glitter, duochrome that I compare all others to. To this day it has not been matched. What I think is great too, is the ability to purchase one at a time. I’m one of those people who thinks of something than HAS to have it immediately. So instead of having to wait and save for a palette, I can just find a shade I want and purchase same day. (They do have palettes too). Morgan, I would love to see a video with glaminatrix shadows!!
Lots of them should just shut up about folks complaints of the price, like you're rich and live in LA doing God knows what on those PR parties, if you can't have any empathy or see where folks coming from, just shut up, you won't loose the PR stuff anyway
@@Ryanneey Charlotte tilbury, Patrick ta ....are brands they come from nowhere and are trying to steal customers money. They know their brands probably will not last so they are trying to get has much as they can. While Dior, chanel etc ..has history and passed the time trial. This are making their prices increase too after they seeing people buy Tom Ford prices, Hermes etc ...
I hate where this is going as an eyeshadow lover who wants big palettes that are not astronomical. Natasha is the only one doing it right with her midi palettes
Good for you Morgan for not staying that they are worth the price especially in this time where people are having a hard buying basic goods. They might be beautiful, but if consumers do not question pricing brands will continue to ask for higher prices. You have to vote with your wallet.
I would never buy Patrick Ta eyeshadows ever again after I bought all 3 of the major dimensions palettes and firstly was not super impressed but then when I opened them after 3 months the shimmers (even unused or swatched) had green fur on them! I tried contacting them numerous times to hear absolutely nothing back. Poor customer service.
I’m surprised more people don’t mention the mold on his eyeshadow palettes! I feel like this info just gets brushed off, and they still sell really well as if no one has had any issues. I found the mold in my palette too, never buying from them again.
I truly don’t get why people went so wild over the price of these. I’ve never seen this kind of outrage over chantecaille singles or the Charlotte Tilbury singles. Over a decade ago I paid $35 for the NARS Rated R duo. I know the beauty space was different back then but no one threw a fit over those. The price of these didn’t phase me. No one is forcing anyone to buy them. I truly don’t get why these sparked so much outrage. I picked up one, We Need Better Lighting. I absolutely love it. I love a baked eyeshadow that twinkles on my lids. Especially now that I’m in my mid 40s, baked eyeshadows that I can just tap on and go are really appealing to me. They’re flattering and effortless. The older I get, the less I am interested in really bold looks. I loved the packaging, I loved the combo I chose, and I will say again that I love a baked eyeshadow. Pat seems to have stopped making them, Bobbi Brown singles are even pricier than this duo. I haven’t purchased new eyeshadow in a year but this release felt tailor made for me. Maybe that’s the issue. I think older women appreciate a baked eyeshadow formula but Patrick didn’t emphasize that it was a baked, Italian formula because he was marketing to a younger crowd. Maybe that created a disconnect. Not too much of one because they sure sold out fast!
I agree. I think they are claiming it's because his brand isn't considered Luxury. Everything I have from him performs as it is, so maybe that affects my mood on this lol. Honestly, I think they just jump on a bang wagon of hate lol. It's been trending to do that for several years now.
I think he's attracted a younger crowd through TikTok who aren't used to these prices for a duo. I remember several years ago being shocked that UD was selling single Moondust shadows for over $20.
Hi Morgan, I'm from Italy and here we have some italian makeup brands that propose sometimes the same magical formulation at half price😅. So sometimes the price is obviously linked to the brand!
@durcheinander5554 really I have not tried these ones from Patrick Ta, but if you love this sparkling finish the brands I mentioned are really fantastic. For example the soft texture of the shades VVS or Diamond Dew from Huda Icy nuded is comparable with the one you can find in Mesauda's palette. Hope this can help.
I personally think those are way overpriced as well. I’d never buy a single shadow that was over $18 (and those $18 ones are multi chromes). Patrick Ta is just more talked about, but you’ll see outrage over high prices of the ones you’ve mentioned. It might just not be a product as hyped as PT is right now.
She didn’t compare there because they’re not the same. I have like 50 indie shadows from Terra moons, clionadh, shine by sd and jd glow. They’re beautiful in their own right but they aren’t a baked formula like Bobbi brown or PMG. It’s okay for them to be 2 different things and both pretty!
Anyone who says Patrick Ta isn’t worth it is tripping. It’s $21 per eyeshadow and the quality is obviously there. I’m waiting on mine to come, I got the shade “talk to my team” and I’m excited!
Thank you for doing this. I agree the price is probably worth it, but I have too much make up too justify treating myself to theses. I recently bought Icy Nude, ROXA, and Ethereal eyes Moonlight. I am happy with those..I can’t get everything.
I like the brown one. It screams class and luxury. I can see myself having it on the eyes for an important meeting! Great video and great Jose effects 😅
Thanks for your review, I have the DM Freedom palette and therefore do not believe I need the PT new eyeshadow duos. I think I can achieve a similar colour eye look with her palette. What is your opinion? Are the two comparable? If you could only have one, do you choose DM or PT?
I Love the Danessa Myricks Lightwork VI palette best for sparkly shadows. I have absolutely no eye irritation. I like the Too Faced shadow but cannot wear it more than one day in a row. I traveled with the Lightwork VI and loved how it stayed protected.
Nobody can beat PML special formula. It’s amazing and works on all skin tones ❤❤❤ Thanks for the swatches and comparison! I thought about getting the club one but maybe now I need to see which of my PML shadows match up 😅😅😅😅
To be so honest it's not the price or the ingredients that I don't like it's the fact they are not sparkly. At all. You can get better sparkle from the color pop shock shadow.
I have two of these duos and they are sparkly. It's more of a dimensional look like the fenty beauty diamond bomb. It's a hard finish to describe but they are very pretty!
The fact that Patrick Ta had to make a video to defend the price just proves that his brand is not a luxury brand. Like someone else said, Patrick Ta is no Tom Ford.
I love the bouncy cream eyeshadows from ulta’s in house brand. Only $9, very sparkly and they transform any shadow into something more “special” when layered on top. For a higher price point, but still reasonable, the Rabanne quads and duos are great quality!
Have you tried the Italian brand Kiko Milano? They do a lot of baked formulas. Their price ranges vary - from budget to more expensive lines. The more expensive lines appear quite luxurious
Yes, I have several eyeshadows and blushes from Kiko and I really like them, especially their stick shadows. And since I store my makeup away from the light, I've had them for years and they're still smelling and performing the same!!! I only had to toss one of their dual eyeliner pencils bc it dried our but the second one, burgundy and champagne stayed the same! Their prices though have gone up recently. But it' s true that when they first came here in France it changed the affordable makeup market bc you had beautiful packaging, luxury looking, but fortunately with unmatching price. I even found out 2 unopened mascaras, brown and burgundy that I bought years ago and they didn't dry out at all, still wet, they're both beautiful, and elegant, I was stunned. I suppose I bought them bc of sales, never opened them bc I forgot about them and now that these colours are trending, they're on point 😁 Their lipsticks and glosses are beautiful too. I can't judge their new makeup 💄 though bc I haven't bought any recently. And they have a tendancy to repackage the same colours and formulas. For special shades, I love my Lethal Cosmetics single shadows though, an indie German brand. They're multichromes, duochromes are beautiful. I've recently mixed my Lisa Eldridge Sorcery palette with one of their special shades and it looked beautiful. It's true that they can be expensive for the most special ones: 17€. But I bought mines last Black Friday with a big discount and it was worth it.
I wish I could have seen these compared to ColourPop’s super shock shadows. $42 is a lot but I don’t even care about that. Lol. Buy what you want. (I have Pat McGrath, Tom Ford, Dior, etc 😂) I’m just curious as to how it compares to the super shock shadows. I think they’re pretty sparkly and way more affordable. 😊
I wouldn’t pay full price but I used my Rouge discount for 20% off at Sephora and am really enjoying it. I bough the shade Still At The Club as I love a cool smoky taupe and it’s actually quite versatile.
Wow, the Tom Ford really swiped beautifully …. And the colors are beautiful too of the first one ..Morgan, I am loving your lip colors today really really pretty! Gives off the FALL vibe without being in your face😍 …
Honestly? There is no way in hell i will pay for these. And the sentence on the packaging means that he could just use cheapest ingredients from China, and cheated the system by pressing them in Italy. And sorry, but only one of the shades looks special. The other one is just a metallic. Its the same like with ND palettes: she gives us those sparkling wet or crystal formulas, but also regular metallics. For a duo i would really expect both shades to be special
Yes! For that price both shades should have been sparkly, I agree. I don’t understand why he decided to launch duos for 37 pounds instead of one sparkle shade for like 26-28 pounds.
Italy does make beautiful eyeshadows… it’s worth the occasional splurge (expiration dates phewy) 🤭. Just like most of my skincare is made in Korea and I just think that they make the best skin care … That royal blue shade in Pat McGrath’s subliminal pallet will run from wrist to elbow … it is such a beautiful formula worth every penny in my opinion..
I look at it as $21 a shadow, and I have paid $25⬆️ for single shadows. Also, compare Patrick Ta to some of Adepts' shimmers. You will see beautiful similarities ❤ Depends on want you want to pay or like.
I plan on getting one for sure. However, someonemade a post aboutaa Italian brand name Wycon. I want to check out thier website. There were beautiful as well
I’m so glad I watched this. I only liked the top shades so it makes me even more sure I won’t buy them. I’ll stick to my Pat McGrath for super sparkly and the moondust shadows for a more subtle sparkle
As always Morgan, your thorough reviews are outstanding. Really helps with knowing where to spend and not! I am very attracted to the shadows by Patrick Ta, but seeing them up against the other shadows for comparison is raising an eyebrow for me. I am also loving the new Huda pallet. I took it on vacay and used it exclusively. So really happy with the performance there. I am also very interested in the new Danessa pallet, but then I'm not afraid of color. I still can't make a decision on PT duos. Thank you for all your hard work and effort that you put into these videos.🎉
I like the toupe shade and the silver shade in better lighting but I wish they did a toupe with the silver I just don't think we need so much gold their is a lot of gold in his duos and every other pallet and singles we already have , it would be more special to me if it was a toupe or a green and silver instead of gold.
Its a baked Gelle. Just like bobbi brown luxe eyeshadows nars sometimes has baked gelle. The dior quad plan de paris had baked gelle. They dont have tin containers. They are glued underneath onto the eyeshadow itself. To the packaging
Just get the the elf glitters single shadows! Btw what about the the glitter eyeshadows in the blush palette that he launched? Remember everybody was talking crap about it.
To be completely honest, I think the Too Faced shadow was the nicest out of all the shadows you swatched here..🤷♀️ Im definitely not interested in getting any of the Patrick Ta duos because I can pay $20 more for an Indie palette that has several special shimmers/multichromes/irridescents/mattes/etc that blow Patrick Ta’s shades out of the water! In MY opinion, that is… I am, however, a little intrigued by the Too Faced glimmer shadow(or whatever it’s called) and I think I’ll try swatching them if I can find testers at Ulta or Sephora. I doubt I’ll get any, but I’m curious, so you never know ..😂
Thank you for this Morgan! I feel like I can wait for these Patrick Ta duos because I have a lot of what you swatched. I’d like to see them compared to Half Magic glitter pucks or other shadows, or even last year’s glitter toppers from Patrick Ta’s hot pink blush palette.
They are so pretty on you. I always admire your eyeshadow. I won’t be buying them only because my regular life routine won’t fit them in. Not even if I go out will I need those eyeshadows. But I enjoy seeing ya’ll try them out!
I can't stop thinking about the semantics of the phrase. Is it a legal requirement because a part isn't fully Italian? I wonder if this has anything to do with the scandal not too long ago with the fashion industry in Italy (sweatshops located within Italy because the 'Made in Italy' label carries a certain perception of quality and ceaftsmanship.
Thank you for this very rational review, and breakdown. It's so helpful! I think you bring up such a good point about a products and what it's worth to an individual. I know you didn't love the foundations, so of course that must sound like a crazy price. Now for me, as afraid as I was to try it lol, it's glorious. That said, I am decades older than you and have dry/mature skin. I loved it so much I ordered another shade in the sale, and I have a ton of foundations lol. You are a gem!
I purchased two the “ talk to my team” “ at the club” and they are truly brilliant. I like what you did because you compare them to other brands that use the Italian formula.
Hey Morgan, great review as always! I just wanted to say that ever since you started doing swatches in front of the window, the finishes of the products have been very hard to tell, because it is making very glittery shades appear the same as standard metallics etc
MORGAN!!!! You deserve some kind of TH-cam award for the most comprehensive comparison video for 2024. This is so impressive! Thank you for all your hard work on this!

Yess. They also have tons of shades. So much more worth it.
I just went on the app to look at them. They are gorgeous.
Kiko Milani Glitter Shower is good too.
Good point! Great rec.
Yes they are so good!!
Thank you for saving me money! I'm sticking to my mothership and my indie brands. ❤
For those loving the cool toned sprakling shade from the duo Still at the Club, there is a great dupe in the Petits Fours “Hesperides” from Viseart ( a smidget less sparkly). They are often on sale and you get FOUR shades for about $25.
Your amazing.
Thank you! I bought it. Still at the Club but I love eyeshadow, so I'm going to get the Viseart too! 😅
Morgan I love your reviews but also Jose’s editing is hilarious!!! 😂
Right? Has me dying every time
The GoT Shame scene was awesome 🔔

Yassss exactly what I was thinking!!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 These PT duos aren’t special. It’s kind of laughable when comparing to any indie shadows!
I love Morgan but not for eyeshadow. I'll stick to indie shadows all day. It's gonna be a no for me dawg😂

I was mostly just annoyed that a handful of wealthy influencers who got these for free were shaming people for having an issue with the price.
I was just thinking that.

Clionadh cosmetics is fantastic. Equally sparkling eyeshadows for less. 😌
Equally? Majority of them surpass these PT shadows 😂
@KagomeYasha023 true!
Right off the bat, I'm going to say that these BETTER be the most magical and amazing eyeshadows ever for that price 😭😂
I think the Two Faced looked the best.

Hi Morgan, I'm from Italy and here we have some italian makeup brands that propose sometimes the same magical formulation at half price😅. So sometimes the price is obviously linked to the brand!
Is there any brand of eyeshadow you recommend? Thanks!
@mewv3 Hi, you can try Mesauda, Wycon, Mulac and Nabla for sure. All Italian brands.
@Crirabbit2784 oh, I've never heard of those brands before- thank you!
Do you know any specific products that have a similar formula?

Out of all of them I prefer the urban decay & to o faced ones . They stand out a whole lot next to the others
Oh, those are quite pretty - prettier than I thought they would be - thanks for the detailed review 😊
I’m so glad you did this! These look so different than the promo searches (of course).
Thanks for your review, I have the DM Freedom palette and therefore do not believe I need the PT new eyeshadow duos. I think I can achieve a similar colour eye look with her palette. What is your opinion? Are the two comparable? If you could only have one, do you choose DM or PT?
how do they compare to the coastal lights by flower!
I got mine today and Still at the Club is gorgeous. Totally unique. I am happy with my purchase.
I love Italian eyeshadows. They are superior to any others.

Nobody can beat PML special formula. It’s amazing and works on all skin tones ❤❤❤ Thanks for the swatches and comparison! I thought about getting the club one but maybe now I need to see which of my PML shadows match up 😅😅😅😅
Thank you, but they do try.
Indies do all the time but if you’re talking in the high end/luxury sphere only, then you’d probably be right.
I dunno I decluttered all my motherships, I feel like the formula is outdated.
@ 😳 😮
You should try Moira beauty stars how shadow pots. So beautiful
They're pretty, but I think I'm happier with my CT hypnotizing pop shots.
The fact that Patrick Ta had to make a video to defend the price just proves that his brand is not a luxury brand.
Like someone else said, Patrick Ta is no Tom Ford.
Thanks for the thorough comparisons!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I love the bouncy cream eyeshadows from ulta’s in house brand. Only $9, very sparkly and they transform any shadow into something more “special” when layered on top. For a higher price point, but still reasonable, the Rabanne quads and duos are great quality!
Bought this Patrick ta eyeshadow duo.... And I LOVE IT!
I like the purply brown one, but as i have Viseart Violette.....
I think out of all of them the too faced one looked the most pretty.
Have you tried the Italian brand Kiko Milano? They do a lot of baked formulas. Their price ranges vary - from budget to more expensive lines. The more expensive lines appear quite luxurious

I've recently mixed my Lisa Eldridge Sorcery palette with one of their special shades and it looked beautiful. It's true that they can be expensive for the most special ones: 17€. But I bought mines last Black Friday with a big discount and it was worth it.
@@meganaylett you know what else is great- very much like the UD- Moira and they’re $6
I agree with you. I bought one and went back for three more. These are really beautiful and high quality. They are the best in class in my opinion.
Gavissi has the most beautiful eyeshadows and they have amazing pigments!!
Thank you Morgan. I am immediately drawn to the "I'm with her" shades.
Very thorough review❤❤ Thanks!!
I wouldn’t pay full price but I used my Rouge discount for 20% off at Sephora and am really enjoying it. I bough the shade Still At The Club as I love a cool smoky taupe and it’s actually quite versatile.
Thank you for all the in depth comparisons! ❤
Wow, the Tom Ford really swiped beautifully …. And the colors are beautiful too of the first one ..Morgan, I am loving your lip colors today really really pretty! Gives off the FALL vibe without being in your face😍 …

Morgan, I want to try Tom Ford for the first time. What palette do you recommend for them that is the best in your opinion?
I think she did rankings of Tom Ford some time ago
I'm very excited for mine to come in the mail today. I wish these were in a big palette tho
I plan on getting one for sure. However, someonemade a post aboutaa Italian brand name Wycon. I want to check out thier website. There were beautiful as well
I bought a couple of Wycon products during a trip to Italy. Nice lipsticks and eyeshadows, but their cream blush was amazing!😊
The Patrick eyeshadows remind me of the dose of colors block party eyeshadows!!
I’m so glad I watched this. I only liked the top shades so it makes me even more sure I won’t buy them. I’ll stick to my Pat McGrath for super sparkly and the moondust shadows for a more subtle sparkle
I love the first shadows. I have similar colors in Laura Mercier sticks
Flower beauty also has that glimmer lights palette that looks kinda the same & u can get it on sale for like $6.
Would you say Bobbi Brown luxe sparkle eyeshadow is similar to these?
Only some of those are good.
I doubt I’ll get any, but I’m curious, so you never know ..😂
Yes agreed! They looked more sparkly than the Patrick ta ones
Lauren Mae Beauty just compared with the Half Magic eyeshadow single wet pebble - it’s richly pigmented and beautiful for $13
Oh and i do love his mascara ❤
They are so pretty on you. I always admire your eyeshadow. I won’t be buying them only because my regular life routine won’t fit them in. Not even if I go out will I need those eyeshadows. But I enjoy seeing ya’ll try them out!
Outstanding video. I appreciate your comparisons to the high price single eyeshadows.
I’m wondering how they would compare to adepts shimmers
@debbinschnepp984 Heather Austin did a video comparing some of the Adept shadows to the PT
If you own the too faced chocolate gold palette will you pleeeeeeeease compare? I'm not buying them either way, but I'm just curious lol
I feel like the last 1 u tried would be beautiful for Christmas
I love them and will buy more. Worth the price.
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR VIDEO ON THESE DUOSSSSS AHHHHH!!
What mascara, and water line did u use in The end? Gorg
FINALLLYYYYY 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥰🥰🥰
This was such a wholesome review ❤😊 Thank you 😊
I really enjoy lisa eldridge vega palette used with mac fix plus it's beautiful
Truth of the matter, the fewer the shadows, the higher the cost. Your best bet is always to get a full sized palette for best value.
I was waiting for this video ❤
The phrase ' made from global parts' makes me think that several ingredients or components used for them were sourced from countries outside of Italy.
Yes, that is what it means.
Maybe the case is from china .. I don’t know 😂
Thank you for this video!!
I was so waiting for your review! Thank you
GREAT to see your review of these! 😘Thanks as always!
Excellent video! I loved your swatch comparisons with other palettes and the descriptions to help w/ our purchasing decisions. 🙂
I purchased two the “ talk to my team” “ at the club” and they are truly brilliant. I like what you did because you compare them to other brands that use the Italian formula.
reminds me very much of the Rabanne duos, extremely similar formula
Thanks for the info. I ordered two of the shadow duos, a blush duo I had been wanting, got 15% off and a free lipstick!
Morgan, I am loving your lip colors today really really pretty! Gives off the FALL vibe without being in your face😍
Thanks for comparing to other expensive formulas! I'd like to pick a couple up in the future!
Still at the club looks so pretty. I don’t think I have anything else like that!
Hey Morgan, great review as always! I just wanted to say that ever since you started doing swatches in front of the window, the finishes of the products have been very hard to tell, because it is making very glittery shades appear the same as standard metallics etc
this video literally came in the perfect moment in my life, love you
My favorite glittery eyeshadows are the ones in the MBM Ethereal eyes and I find the urban decay moondust shadows are an almost perfect alternative
My favorite is Still at the Club too. 😊
I'm still buying one of them, (Still at the club) ❤ I wanted to buy the Huda Icy Nude palette buy it's Out of Stock ☹️
A BIG THANKS for doing this video!!!!
