This makes sense to do even if you only have a little because you will quickly OUTGROW your handwritten or get tired of scrolling through your Ipad list! And you can actually see it. Thanks again CeeCee! I'm thinking of adding a thread color swatch as well since the sewing bug has bitten along with painting, drawing and everything else artsy.

Fabulous idea!! I am such an organizing junkie that I might just do this as I organize my studio next time . . . which should be in the next week or so, knowing me! LOL!!

+tourguideali thanks! i am currently re-evaluating the fact that i didn't swatch my paints. i think i will eventually. however, i still haven't found the correct way to do that. i want to be able to have all the yellows together, the oranges, etc... i might have to do a section on each colour groups. i think it will help with the selection of the proper value of each color.

    Oh, excellent idea.
I have some swatches that I made up (of my inks and alcohol pens), but I tend to leave them lying around near the supplies.
However, I think putting into a folder would be much more practical.

      ***** Already started -
finished my distress inks chart ( used a little flower punch) and coloured in a blank spectrum noir alcohol marker chart.
Going to start on my ink pads soon.

Super smart! I either need to purge or I'm going to need a bigger binder or a few of the little guys. I really do think this "creative resource" of your very own is more than just a reference of what you have but a money and time saver as well. I can't tell you how many accidental oops buys I have of Daniel smith cobalt teal blue and opera rose I have but I can say I won't run out for a long while and have done most of my limited palette selections or based my painting subjects around those two colors lol. I personally love to make color charts or swatches of all my mediums but then right in the middle of it I get side tracked and really into painting and use my perfectly clean and tapped off watercolor paper and mess it up from playing around with a color that just inspired me or ruined the page from wanting to see more mixing with different pigments. Anyways great idea and I am going to try making a mini version that I can haul around with me for my spontaneous art store trips.

+Erin S. Erin, I feel your pain! The original binder was started with that exact intention: to avoid buying duplicates. It's worked but not that my needs have changed, the original solution needed to be revised. It's such a handy tool to have and I honestly would not be able to function without it. Thank you for this awesome comment and have a wonderful weekend!

I have book just like it. but it's so I know what colors look like when dry. like lindy sprays and acrylics and everything I have that has colors. because sometimes I look at the bottle and it doesn't look like that when it dries. plus when I make my own shade of color I write down what's in it to make it again. I love your idea. I need a book like that too.

+Joyce Gandy The biggest job was the 1st time I did it in the small book. I kept it very simple this time around by using lists from the different manufacturers as much as possible.

Hey CeeCee, first time viewer to your channel. Great idea switching binders. I'm about to do my own supply inventory and needed this. Thanks for creating and sharing it. Have you considered digitizing so you can easily refer to it on your phone while in stores? Does anyone have an app for that?
