According to Anna, I am a different species to her 🤣. But yeah, writing in the mornings is not for everyone. The thing you said about routines is so true. It doesn't have to be forever. It only has to be for as long as it works for you. 💞
Oh, you poor sweet soul...as someone who works nights, I've had to learn everything I could about circadian rhythms. Suddenly getting up 2 hours earlier every day is pretty much guaranteed to mess up every cycle your body is on (it's actually easier to learn to stay up later each night...I had to do it to go on my night shifts). If I were doing a "get up at 5 am and write" life fix, I would have to gradually get up about a half hour earlier each WEEK and teach my body a new schedule... Props for doing as well as you did!!!
Omg haha OOPS. I definitely intended to work on my sleep schedule before the challenge to make it less jarring, but I completely dropped the ball and did it cold turkey. Do not recommend!!! Bahahaha
Thanks for replying! What an honour! 💖 By the way, wanted to know how long it takes for you to edit your monthly videos. I am thinking of making monthly videos too but not sure I'd I should. It would depend on how much time i would spend editing. By the way, I love your videos. TIA
@@RobynLeigh111 aw thank you!! That is so sweet and means a lot to me! 🧡🧡🥹🥹 As for the editing, it depends quite a lot. For a month-long vlog it can be quite time intensive. Maybe 10-13 hours to edit? But I can be a bit of a perfectionist 😅 so others may be faster--i can get caught up tinkering with things. My best advice is to make a practice video and just see how you like the process!
You're an absolute beast for getting through this while ill! I personally loved the feeling of having done my daily word count before work so much, that the 5am wake up was a breeze by day three. And I 100% agree with the sustainability statement. I couldn't do it every day of the week for the rest of my life. So doing it only on days I work (which is like 4-5 days a week depending on the week) is a really good balance for me ^^ Another treat of a video! And with the guest appearance of two cute dogs
Thank you friend! I'm so amazed by you! I love so much that this ended up being a positive, attainable change for you and I'm JEALOUS! 🌞🌞 Thank you for doing this with me because it made it so much more fun. I can't imagine doing it alone!
I only just about managed to stick to 7am for the week so I'm honestly impressed you perservered with this even when you were sick. Also, what do you mean you haven't had a cold in years? HOW? I get at least 2 per year, when the weather changes, sometimes more than that and it's the worst. I loved the little fluffy doggo appearance!
Lol I think working in a small office and then transitioning to work from home means I just interact with less germs! And my immune system was clearly on vacation 😂
I'm currently bouncing back and forth between both! I like to switch it up between drafts. I'd eventually like to switch to campfire completely as it's more affordable, but I find it a little buggy so I'm still testing how I feel about it.
@@AnnaRobbinsWrites I use Campfire for my fantasy writing, as it is easier to create my own encyclopedia with fantasy creatures, magics and etc. But the other types of writing I do it in Scrivener. I like both actually. Never tried Dabble, seems a bit pricy for me :) I like your videos!
@@antoaneta3000 thank you so much! :) I love those world building features in campfire too for collecting all that information. I'm glad you have a system that works for you!
I want to do this challenge so bad, but I’d have a hard time cuz I live in a tiny two-bedroom apartment with my mom and she doesn’t get up until 630. So, I still have it in my arsenal but I’m waiting until I have the funds to do a hotel retreat.
I can definitely sympathize! I had a much harder time making videos when we lived in apartments. I hope you get to take that retreat soon! I would find the fluffy hotel bed waaaay too tempting for 5 AM writing 😬😬
It was an effort. The fact that Wednesday is when your body broke seems to meet the human requirements. And when it comes to who you are on your weekdays, just remember: "boring" is subjective. I used to be on nocturnal shifts: go to bed at 5 AM, wake up at 3 in the afternoon. So for me this challenge would've been like a nightcap. Seasonal moods also affect things. (Hopefully the summer heat broke in your neck of the woods before you did this. Hot-weather colds are the worst.)
Would you ever try the 5 AM writing challenge? 💀☕😬
The fact you did this while you were sick and dog sitting 👏🏼round of applause👏🏼
The word count transition was so cool.
Thank you friend!! 🧡🧡🧡

I'm so happy that you like the morning writing!! It seems so peaceful in theory, I'm quite jealous

Okay your curls looked AMAZING this entire video. Thanks for hosting this challenge!
thank you!! 🥰🥰😗
I work too much to do 5am writing. Hopefully you meet your goals
I wake up 5am 3 times week
With little ones, it honestly trumps staying up late. I'm too frazzled at night to think so mornings it is.
That makes sense! 🧡 Gotta do what works for you and I'm glad you can have that time!

@@AnnaRobbinsWrites thank you so much for the advice. I will try making a practice video. All the best 🌷🙏
I’ve been trying for the last week to wake up at 5 to write… I haven’t succeeded once! 😂
It is soooo hard!! 🥴
@@AnnaRobbinsWrites I know right! The earliest I’ve come is 5:45
Lol
I am *so* impressed that you did this while you were sick. That last day with all the sneezes cracked me up though 😂 but you did it!!!
Thanks Anna!! It was tough but I'm proud of myself! Still do not recommend effing with your sleep when you're sick XD
I used to write at 4am.
I should do this.

Congrats on hitting 6k words into your re-write in a week while writing at 5am and being sick! Wow!!!

High applause for getting through the challenge while sick! You are such a trooper! And congrats on the editing bump you got during!
Thank you Elaine!! 😍 I was really pleased to get through that section of edits.
No way would I do this lol! Well done!x
Thanks Emma! It was a challenge for sure 😅
On one of your videos I saw you are using Campfire to write. But then I saw you made a video for Dabble. What program you are using to write actually?

@@AnnaRobbinsWrites ha! That will likely be one of the challenges.
Nope, I won't try it. 0500 is for training. Evening is for writing - when energy remains. 😅 Good on you - I'll certainly watch others struggle/suffer.
Hear hear! Definitely stick to what is already working 🥰

That's so true! This would be very interesting to watch someone on a nocturnal schedule try something opposite and see how they do 🙊
