Very neat, but can't stop thinking it's so much easier and more accurate using a cad program, and cad doesn't need a sharpener 😅

Thanks. Yes you’re right, I started out with CAD but got interested with draughtsmanship by hand as a hobby, trying to keep the seemingly obsolete art alive. Plus I realised how much I can’t draw as compared to CAD, so I need a lot of practice.

@@DrawingTechnical been retired 7 years now, but when I started with the company they had the full size drafting table, and I enjoyed using it, but the time it takes to make a plan by hand is to long, so cad finished the table, but it was still used for displaying drawings for a while, but keep it up m8 as it is a dying art so shouldn't be forgotten, it nice to see you doing it it took me back.

Thank you for the encouragement. My videos seem to draw in senior draughtsmen such as yourself which I appreciate.

Can you do this on Revit? Isn't this a waste of time if you already know Revit?

Yes, well I wanted to draw it. On the other hand, Autodesk copyright struck one of my tutorial videos, a wrong copyright strike because I didn't copy anything, it was a tutorial video showing people how to download Revit from Autodesk's own website. If I get 3 copyright strikes, TH-cam terminates my channel. i've sent a big letter to Autodesk about why the copyright strike was wrong with clear evidence. I think they've ignored my letter, so I've deleted all my Revit tutorial videos to avoid the risk of getting terminated.

      1. BIM software have their merit but aren't quite as engaging as drafting. I find that drafting and sketching are a direct extension of my brain. similar to handwriting notes. Helps me process the information much quicker.
      2. I find that BIM software can often lead to one focusing on items that aren't quite useful in the production of design. You end up panning models for too long, modeling items that could just be notes. It's all wonderful and all but at times drafting helps one focus on what's necessary.
      3. It's much easier to control your graphics while drafting. The results are right there in front of you and it doesn't take much to amment. CAD software at times have too much settings to fiddle with. Again. it's good that there's near endless possibilities, but at times keeping it simple works.
      4. Technical stuff on BIM can at times be a hinderance in communicating while on BIM software, you are at times limited by what the software can do and bugs are crashes can get in the way too.
      5. Revit isn't a particularly good drafting tool. I'd argue that Archicad and AutoCAD do a much better job. I think this is because both platforms' drafting environments are heavily inspired by traditional hand drafting.

The length of your graphite is too long. Hence the breaking.

Yes, I should make it shorter, I just like making it longer.
