    Never seen this model before. Used to see a lot of the E5/10/20 models in the music store my family ran in the late 80s early 90s.

    I have sold mine a half year ago. It’s a decent keyboard for that time. Nice to watch a review of this. Hopefully you do the E-80 what I now have

      Yeah someone was selling an E80 here a couple of weeks ago but it was soooooo huge. Bet it sounds great though :)

    Used to be my favourite, too! Do you sell PCMCIA for SD card? Love the Upper2 to Left function and of course the D-beam for playing Harp or if with Sunday School Kids using it with SFX for fun.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can get PCMCIA to SD card adapters from ebay or other online shops. I think I've got one here somewhere if you are really stuck.

    This looks like an aesthetic heavily borrowed from Yamaha.
    It does sound quite nice though. The organ with the rotary simulation sounds very good. The custom effects are pretty decent. I'd put a machine like this to good use back In the day.
    Awesome video. Great piece of hardware too. There's alot of potential in there!!!
    The drum kits are Killer!!!

    I own the huge and very heavy g70 but bought an E50 as it has similar spec in terms of styles and a lot easier for transporting to rehearsals, small gigs etc, the only issue with mine is it can freeze when editing styles whilst in play mode.

    • @Dvd7111
      @Dvd7111 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same thing for me with the freezing. Not all the time. I save the style soon and when it’s freezing, wait until the freeze ends and you can go on. And some other little bugs but I can live with it.

    This ancient stone sounds very Rolandish to me!
    I have Yamaha PSR S650 from 2011 with 16MB sampling space.
    I can exchange it with an E-60 no payment.
    What's your opinion? Worth it or not? 🤔

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm no I'd probably keep the Yamaha. I reviewed that model a few years back , it was really good and the sampling has a lot of value for me. Glad you liked the video :)

    All the sounds sound very compressed with prolongated sustain and very instant attack. Did you put a compressor during the recording ??

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No compressor, but the only pedal I had available would only work in reverse, making playing it a bit awkward. That'd probably explain what you're hearing there!

    I just bought the E80 just for the guitar mode. I owned the E60 back in 2005 from my hard earned money. The keyboard has still warm catchy sounds, better them most VST's and great Midi support.

    where do u get those awesome keyboards? 😀
    Ebay? or Local?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mostly local. I find a good trick is to contact sellers who are (foolishly) insisting on "local pickup only" and asking if you can send a courier to them to collect it. Usually they say yes, and you can get a good deal because those sellers have forfeited 95% of their market because they can't be bothered to go to the post office :)

    Does the tone edit have an envelope for filter?

    • @gearfacts

      Not that I could find (but I'm open to be corrected by anyone else who has more detailed knowledge about it!)

    • @gregoryosullivan
      @gregoryosullivan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gearfacts Downloaded the manual, looks like there is one envelope for both the TVA (Volume) and the TVF (filter) and although you can change the initial filter cutoff and the resonance there is no envelope depth or "amount" control for the TVA or TVF. So no way to crank the TVA up and just mess with the filter.
