I'm a retired geologist from the mining industry. It baffles me how globally, there is an absolute scarcity of geology students. On the one hand, young people hear everyday how we are ruining the earth and I understand they might think, " I don't want to be a part of that." But, there are now 8 billion people on earth and as this lady says in the opening, "if we can't grow it, we need to mine it." The next generation (or the next hundred generations) will not want to go technologically backward. They will want and need more minerals.
