Little trick for knocking out the axle ( eg if you have to reuse the axle ) rather than banging on the threads just keep the socket on put an extension on and tap on that👍
i'm having a great deal of difficulty getting the new axle to slip into the trans. Splines, diameter are correct, it just won't go in....even with some significant "convincing". Any suggestions?
DSS makes aftermarket cv axles for the mini. I installed on passenger side/automatic transmission. Will write again if it fails prematurely. The original Mini cv axle didn’t last more than 35K so it’s not great quality in my opinion.
I have a 2012 mini cooper (not a S). They said that Oil Pump Solenoid Wiring Harness needs to be replaced because oil is on it. He said axle needs to be removed to do the job. That's why part is $40 & labor is $364. Curious if you have heard that and does that need to be removed?
Hey Brother, I have a 2011 mini Cooper countryman and I bought a passenger-side CV axle from AutoZone and it did just like you said it’s like it’s extended too far out and ended up snapping outside of the boot so I ordered an original OEM used part (twice) that was used off of eBay and it broke both times, I ordered one more and I figured out that it looks like the CV axle was about 1 to 1 1/2 inches too short do you have any recommendations??
Jabo The Mechanic The ones i’m buying off eBay are directly OEM manufactured CV axles the last one I bought only had 20,000 miles on it and still has the mini Cooper stickers and everything, I even verified the part number, I am really stumped 🤔 😩
At what speed are you going at? And does it happen when you are going straight? As far when vibration during turning. Is it during sharp turning or wide turning

Good vid. Different camera angles under the car were helpful.
Thank you. I appreciate it! It was a pain but wanted to make sure that you you can see step by step. Glad it helped!

Is that a FWD model? My Axel is much shorter and doesn’t have that extra bit with the bracket. Still can’t get the darn thing out though.
is your mini cooper countrymen a all wheel drive model

You can just clean the harness
Do you have to remove the transmission to do this?
Question is the same axle shaft for base model and s model ??
Did you ever figure it out was there a cir clip in the s model all 4 ?

You have to buy from the dealership.
Now i don't know if this is true or not but try partsgeek.com one guy said it worked for him.

This is literally my issue right now. Autozones site claims it fits the vehicle but it was too short smh
Mine just won’t budge. Car jack up on both sides
Any particular reason they were changed?
Yes, while turning axles would make a clicking sound. Don't forget to subscribe ☺️
@@JaboTheMechanic mhmk. I've got a 13 JCW and I'm getting vibes from front passenger especially when turning left think this could be the culprit
As in "vibe" do you have a vibration while turning Or are talking about the clicking sound?
@@JaboTheMechanic ya kinda intermittent vibrating. Louder with speed and cornering left. Isn't constant

Couldn't find the video of the driver side...
I'm getting ready to post up today subscribe so it will let you know when it's uploaded
