I have seen empty husks in my pail but failed to see the flies. Probably escaped through the gaps in my netting. Thanks for this video! Very helpful! 🥰🥰🥰
Your videos are really useful. Only today I found that the prepupae will climb the plastic when its wet! Then a few hours later I watched your video! I had an army of prepupae everywhere and had to collect them all 🤔. I've made temporary measures, redesigned everything and will have to take some steps tomorrow before building better tubs.
Hi Adi ! Yours videos are very very usefull and i learn a lot about BSF farming. I am from west africa and i am since a long time interested by this king of waste treatment and farming. Very good job ! And tahank you very much sharing all this huge knowledge with us !!
Excellent video and learning tool. I am in the very early stages of developing a breeding system but I live in Scotland where temperatures are never really ideal for BSF to mate etc. Their life cycles are also slower as far as I can tell because of lower temperatures. I need to fabricate a ‘Love Box’ and facility where temperatures can be regulated so that breeding cycles can be more reliable and productive.
Thank you for sharing... I have learnt so much from you! I hope your kindness to us is repaid in abundance in your farm. I am just starting small at home to learn first. You have given me confidence to try. If using animal manure will deworming the animals affect the BSF through the manure? Should I rather not use it during that time?
Hello! Interesting precisions ! You don't keep the Pupa in soil ? So the prepupa stops moving faster? I'm only starting and I read they take a lot of energy looking for the right place to freeze, so the fly could be weaker afterwards... What is your experience about that specific point ? What's your advice?
Hi, your work is great. Thanks for your videos. I want to know how doy you calculated the larvae yield. For example, to obtain 1 g of live larvae, how many grams of egg do you need? Or another question, how many eggs can be present in a (1g) gram? Thank you in advance for your attention.
Thanks for this wonderful training. I am from Ghana can i use quail waste to feed newly hatch larvae? How do i produce large quantity of larvae to feed poultry of 1000 broiler .
Basicly u can use it (quail waste) but it has strong smelly. U have to keep it indor. If u put outside ur bins will full by housefly larvae. And this kind ig manure is very sticky
Thank you very much your videoshow that all are best in practice Im very pleased from your kindness and I will start to set up to grow soon and I really need yours support thanks again Good luck !!!
Hello my dear sir Am a big follower of ur all videos All r amazing & very practical I have a question please answer me How much fruit & vegetable scrap need to get 1 kg young live larvae 2) how much spent grains ( brewery grains) needs to get 1 kg live young larvae 3) what is the ratio of live vs dried larvae i mean how much of weight of larvae will reduce after drying
Black Soldier Fly Colony terima kasih 😀 , I went to Bali for my honeymoon Very beautiful Indonesia . Same weather all the tym , always rainy, 🍺 bintang🤪, thank u so much
Thank you so much for going through the life cycle, that makes it much clearer. I should have watched this video first because I couldn't understand what you mean in the other video of talking about "seeds". I'd never heard of talking about seeds with insects. Now I understand, you might want to say at the beginning of videos if you talk about "seeds" that you mean the pupae stage. I appreciate the closed caption for hearing impaired, but the software doesn't capture you talk very well and it often looks like nonsense. It would help if you went through and edited your closed caption text instead of assuming it is correct. Watch your video loaded on the internet instead of your computer and you will see what I mean. Thank you for doing this, I'm learning so much!
Indonesians use the same word ('bibit' translated into English as 'seeds') for initial stage of plant & animal, so yes often they got it mixed up. Actually pupae stage should not be regarded as initial stage ('bibit' stage), it is a common error for Indonesians too.
Hi again from Germany! As you mention potential predators slipping into your flies cage... Do you have any suggestions how to avoid other similar animals, such as common house flies, entering as well? Sure you don't want to hatch them as well! :) Hope all your maintenance was successful, keep up the good work!
I’ve found that the house flies are pretty hard to keep out. However they have little affect on anything as the BSFL will populate the protopod. No worries about house flies, in my opinion.
Helo sir Myself Amit from India Here in India there is temprature variation during the the summer & winter ,its a huge gap tym in summer it goes up to 45 degree Celsius & in summers it goes down to 10 degrees So what can we do for successful mating? Plz

You will have anywhere between 36000 and 40000 eggs in 1 gram. The hatching rate is around 70% if you have the right conditions.
