The fact Rizzo stud up for Frenchy when someone bully kind of made sense when she eventually became the leader of the Pink Ladies after the first generation left. Maybe we could had seen Jane passing Rizzo down the leadership as a series finale before the series was canceled

I thought the reason they went with new characters as the stars of the show was that Paramount didn't have the rights to/didn't want to pay for the rights to the original characters from the stage play. If they could have characters from the stage play, why didn't they make the show they planned on: Rizzo, Frenchy, Marty and possibly Jan's first year of high school when they formed the Pink Ladies? Paramount found out they would have to pay extra for characters that were in the stage show, so they created new characters. I'm wondering what happened.
This series is set four years prior to the events of Grease. So, it’s the story of how the Pink Ladies were founded. Rizzo and Frenchy and the rest of the movie’s Pink Ladies will eventually get their jackets but they’re only in middle school at this point.
I believe this is what is called a joke. The actors in the original Grease were in their 30s when they played teenagers so if this is 4 years prior the actors should be in their 20s if they are in middle school. I know it looses the funny when it has to be explained but here we are.
They can't seriously expect young people to be into this. The original came out in the 70s and was so much cooler. What are they even expecting from this?
