Several years back I went to a hoarder house sale and bought the old full Prell bottles from the 70’s to smell them! I ended up selling them and wishing that I had filled a bag from that bathroom!

Bain de Soilel for the St Tropez taaaaan! Still remember the commercial jingle. I had forgotten all about it until this video and it definitely brought back some memories; I can smell it from memory alone, and off in the distance I can faintly hear 5 year old me whining as my mom smeared this tropical goop all over me before allowing me to jump into the city pool with all of the other boisterous Jersey children.
They had lotion but my mom preferred that orange gelee; It left an orange sheen and felt like luke warm wax was being rubbed all over your body. You know what I mean. Wax isn't hot enough so it's just an awful, gloopy mess. You can feel it pull and stretch every inch of hair and skin.
My favorite discontinued item find was the Glade Potpourri spray in Country Garden. It takes me right back to my teenage bedroom where I would baptize my freshly cleaned room with a 30 second long spray of that stuff. There are a bunch listed on eBay but I don't feel enough of an emotional attachment that would compel me to spend $60 on a half empty can of room spray. A few months ago I found a can in a bathroom at an estate sale for $1. I cried. I keep it hidden in my closet so no one thinks the spray is for community use. About once a month I'll sit on my closet floor, shut the door and hotbox potpourri spray.
Thank you for sharing your memories! I once bought a little girls avon perfume on ebay just so I could smell it again. My mom would always buy me the little girls perfumes and beauty items from the avon catalog when I was little. I'm actually still searching for a few more. Another one was a cooling body spray called chill out by Coty. I distinctly remember picking this out at the store when I was probably around 9 or 10. I was obsessed with the fragrance. I would take it to the beach and the pool with me all the time so it just reminded me of my younger summer days. I still have the bottle but it's empty and no longer smells. I was devastated that day. Even as a teen I knew the importance of fragrance to me so I would purposefully not use the ones I knew I couldn't bear to be without. Well one day my mom needed a spray bottle and this fragrance was in essentially a spray bottle. She dumped out the little that was left and used it for something. Now my only chance of smelling it is paying $300 on ebay or maybe finding it randomly one day. I will be crying as well if I ever smell it again.
@@shellbelle I don’t remember the cooling body spray! I’m gonna look it up, maybe seeing the bottle will fire up some memories. Speaking of cooling, you did remind me that the Maybelline Kissing Coolers is something else I hope to find.

So funny In the 70's or 80's there was a shampoo called gee your hair smells terrific . would give anything to smell that again lol . Ha ha ha😂

I found some discontinue perfume this weekend on our family road trip, some are used, the smell just so good, finally I end up keep for myself ; )

I would think that movie prop houses might also look for and purchase these types of items.
In the late 70's I was in high school. I loved tanning at the beach with that Bain de Soleil orange gel suntan lotion. It smelled wonderful and I got a great tan. The commercial was cool too!

I will add to this list the original Victoria secret pear glace scent body spray with the original label that is discontinued sells pretty high. And I am someone who has sought it out to buy it for that nostalgic smell 😊
