Thanks Andy! How does it sound acoustically compared to a regular size guitar? I mean, In terms of volume and fullness...for example, the taylor baby is loud but lacks bass noticeably. Taylor gs mini sounds much fuller, and it's still a short scale. Thanks
@Andy Hillier Guitar Channel have you tried heavier strings? In such a short scale length, string gauge can be a problem. Not only because the lack of tension but also the sound response can be compromised.....idk what gauge it came with..but maybe a 011 wil beef it up a bit..
No. Any guitar designed to use steel string should always use steel strings and guitars designed to use nylon should only use nylon. I have seen many guitars over the years broken due to putting the wrong strings on. Can I ask why you would want to put nylon string on it?
@@AndyHillier I've read comment that nylon strings are easier to learn on - easier on the fingers. I was looking at this for myself and for my young daughter and the smaller scale, and on-board pickups seem ideal for travel to and from lessons and so if it also could be strung with nylon, it seemed like a good starter
This guitar would be perfect to learn on. It smaller size and short scale length means it not hard to press the strings down and to Action (the height of the strings from the fret board) is nice a low. You are correct that nylon string are easier but i wouldn't dismiss getting this guitar. It plays much easier than most acoustic guitars. i am not endorsed or sponsored by Enya guitar this is my own thoughts. Let me know if you have any questions.
@@AndyHillier Not entirely true as only magnetic pickups require steel strings (or any magnetic string) & the strings look like they are phosphor bronze as used on lot's of acoustic guitars with or without piezo pickups. This guitar does not have piezo pickups in th4e saddle (if it did nylon strings could be used). Instead the "pickups" are on the soundboard & & are just like piezo pickups (they are transducers like them -) even magnetic pickups & microphones are called transducers though) as they convert the vibrations in the soundboard into an electrical signal. Yes it can be argued that it is designed for at least phosphor bronze strings as that is what the sound board pickups were used in designing it. I have 2 Variax guitars & they work via piezo pickups like acoustics before the electronics do the modelling however one does have normal magnetic pickups so for them to function it would need magnetic (steel) strings.
From the last of us HBO series soundtrack there is a beautiful song called “Uncertain Course” please do that if you can ANDY WE LOVE YOU AND APPRECIATE YOU❤
If you can play like that (respect to you sir) you'll make most any guitar sound good. I tried it. Couldn't hold it on my lap. Could barely hear it (off, and then with effects, unplugged). If you're an electric player you might enjoy it. I was looking for a travel acoustic, and this is NOT it.

That's a shame. Is you bridge a little to hight? Does the action get higher the closer it get to the body? Might just need the bridge lowering.

You do lose the bass frequencies due to the size. It’s louder than I was expecting but The main attraction of this guitar is the built in effects.

I bought one and sent it back. It was unplayable and did not have a sound that one expects an instrument to produce.
