- From Season 9 of Walt Disney's Disneyland Anthology program we have Episode 19: Inside Outer Space which originally aired on February 10th, 1963. Ludwig Von Drake is the guest host for this look at outer space, which begins with a brief history of our earlier beliefs and superstitions about what lies beyond Earth's atmosphere. People once feared the stars, thinking they were pieces broken off the moon. Later on, they started to study the skies, leading to conclusions that the earth was the center of the universe and was circled by the sun and other planets. Von Drake also takes a look at the moon and space exploration.
It's an interesting mental feeling seeing Disney you remember from childhood again after over half a century.
Those cartoon imaginings of extraterrestrial life are zany! I remember laughing at some parts, feeling a little afraid at others, when I was six years old. I especially liked - and still like - "Ah See The Moon".
I love Ludwig Von Drake
Me too, he's the best!
I wanna be his partner or friend!
Makes me feel like it is Sunday at my Gma’s❤️
Happy 100th Anniversary, Disney!
This is interesting when you realize that this is basically Paul Frees repeating much of the dialogue here, particularly during the footage from "Mars and Beyond". Frees was the narrator for that program.
*Thanks!*
I never saw this until now, but i feel very relaxed and nostalgic somehow when i watch this
Nearly all of the scenes in this particular show were taken from the earlier "Disneyland" TV series episodes from 1955, titled, "Man in Space", "Man and the Moon", and "Mars and Beyond". The scenes involving Walt Disney himself, and Ludwig Von Drake seem to be originally created for this 1963 composite production.
Some clips from this were used in DTV Monster Hits.
Happy 101st anniversary, Disney! Happy 90th anniversary, Donald Duck @ 46:28.

So that's where the concept of discworld came from.
Oh my goodness seeing this hurts 😣
Where in the world did the time go 😕
The Drake rules them all!
11:22 to 11:42 of this video was footage of Ludwig Von Drake later used for the Sing Along Promo!
That's how I recognized it! It feels surreal to see the original version of this scene since I grew up with that promo (mostly on the Disney Christmas Sing-Along tapes)!
Nice to see this uploaded in its full entirety! Someone uploaded this before (in similar quality) but the introduction segment and the first minute of Von Drake was missing. It started when Von Drake opened the book if I can recall. Also this feels surreal to watch cuz I recognize some scenes from the Disney Sing-Along Songs promo which I grew up with!😉👍
I really like Grand pitaji, his sense of humor and mine matches absolute") and intelligence also, curiosity to know everything including machines... after all he worked with robotic armtronics , before others...
He must be where we get the Drake equation from

12/17/2023: I was 6 years old when this aired 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾💙🤍❤️✅👍🏾
Its odd to see Walt's intro kept on this episode considering they would often replace him with something more generic voice in the newer broadcasts as the title card at 0:23 is not the original title card as its too generic, to be something from 1960s. There is no way to know for sure what the title card originally looked, unless this at 3:56 is the original title card, unless someone turns up with the original episode from 1962.

I love Ludwig Van Drake. He has cute feet!
My parents didn't buy a color TV until their B & W TV broke in the 1980s .... So every "world of color" was black and white

I saw a sci-fi movie during the late '90s saying that there are Martians and we're them. It said that centuries ago Mars was a thriving planet full of life and people, but something went wrong and the planet was no longer able to support life. So everyone got into their spaceships and flew off to another planet, except for one that went off course and landed on Earth. The ship was destroyed and they were stranded here so they began life anew. Those were supposed to be our ancestors.
I've recently heard someone tell me that in 2025, either March or April that Venus and Jupiter will crash into each other. Let's hear Ludwig explain that.
The planets have fixed orbits and without interference by an outside force should maintain their courses.
I know all that, it's like last year when we saw Venus and Jupiter next to one another. It was an optical illusion and if anything happens that is what that will be. I just wonder how he'd explain it.
