I just went through a break up about an hour ago. I have this protective mechanism where I just shut down every feeling I had for the person, regardless of how much I loved them and I really loved him but I feel Ok. Well as far as the 3 month rule go. It really dnt matter cuz a dude can put up a facade for them 3 months then be out after he gets it
He can even get it from someone else until she is ready. On the flip side, women usually only made that rule for a guy they want to keep or think they can keep. They will still hook up with that super hot guy they see at the club or on vacation (sometimes that same night).

The story he says in the beginning is true. It happened to me. I felt disrespected with how he spoke and had this gut feeling that I deserved more. So I made it clear to him that that was what I was looking for and I didn't want to waste my time with someone who speaks that way to me (one time offender but still) so I ended it. He definitely changed his act (which I wasn't expecting) and I've never seen a man work so hard for me... happily. :)
